Your home videos are so appreciated! We're quite enjoying listening to them too. Thank you for sharing. Absolutely stunning, eugh. Lyrics are beautiful, voice is beautiful, and you're ok too 😊.
I saw Groundhog Day twice on Broadway. It was amazing. Please tell me one of these performances will be taped for people who can't get to see it??? 💙💙💙
We went to see the show in the Old Vic on the 9th of August. Groundhog day was already one of my favorite stories but this musical is, to quote someone, very fkn cool. What clearly separates this from the movie is how superb the powerlessness of Phil to avoid the inevitable is given life. And then this song hits you straight in the soul when song by the widower Ned, the life insurance salesman.
GHD is the best. I love how you wove the melodies throughout the show, it's my favourite cast album to listen to in order because the musicality is so clever and complex. I'm desperate for the show to come to Australia
Groundhog Day is easily my favourite musical, I still regularly listen to the soundtrack, so many great songs. It's so disheartening that it didn't have more success in NYC. For those wondering about the insurance reference, this song is sung by a character who is a life insurance salesman, who has a catchphrase "you gotta love life insurance".
Thank you, Tim. I was missing this in your voice. The Groundhog CD is great, but I prefer hearing your voice singing all these. Particularly this one and Seeing You.
This song hits me way harder than it has any right to. As far as insurance songs go, it has the same level of emotional impact on me as that time our TV bugged out and played Liberty Mutual's 3 second jingle for 3 minutes straight. Thankfully this does not have a torturous and maddening kind of impact.
I love this side of Tim. It's quite somber, but yet soothing to me. His voice cuts deep into the soul with these meaningful lyrics. And even though I'm aware of the musical theater background, I've never seen any of them.I would love to, but it isn't possible for me at this point in time. I'm thankful I subscribe and can see him here. Thank you, Tim. This was beautiful ❤
This is possibly my favourite GHD song. When I heard it on Broadway I knew it was important though I didn’t know the score at all. Have listened many many times since then.
Saw the show in Melbourne 16th March. Thank you! This song is haunting me and I can't get enough of it; am so happy to have the opportunity to hear you sing it.
Aww, I've been really enjoying these home studio sessions from you. I'll find them in the morning, sit in the sun with a cuppa and listen to your work. It really makes my day. ❤ I hope to see the musical one day, I watch the original film every year.
After the Groundhog day show on a hunt through RU-vid to find all songs sang by Tim. Amazing show, and fantastic music+lyrics that have so much Tim talent in them, had to find how it would sound in 'original' 💌
This was real chill and sweet to listen too. Then I realised I got so into the melodic voice that I forgot to pay attention to the lyrics. Guess I'll just have to listen again... what a shame ^^
Some voices do that to me too, and Tim's is one of them. If I put his album on, I have to decide if I'm listening to it for the lyrics or the sound this time.
Amazing, half listened until the last 20 seconds and that made me listen to the whole song again and yes, why do we do it, need to find a reason , I watched another video tonight and it was a child ringing their father to say they loved them. Might have to rethink things.
I really hope you do the music for more musicals sooner or later. I'm a big ol' showtunes nerd, and your two musicals so far are both packed full of some of my favorites.
I don't know the background to the song but I listen to speaking videos at 1.5 or 2 speed and I was just listening to one when I realised (half way through this song) that my playback might still be on 1.5 speed. Normally it's obvious that a song is too fast.. this time it sounded really good .. sounds very different at normal speed, though!
This is much more soothing than reading LNP tweets attempting to gotcha the government, on and on they stumble on hoping we’ll forgot them being in power
Very nice - would you mind If I compared you to someone? Billy Joel meets Leo Sayer.... (of course you are original you but this song brought these two to mind :-) )
We’re all pretty much bumbling through- the only thing that makes a difference is who, what, why you do. Be kind to the people you meet, even if they’re challenging.
