The Danny Elfman music score really brings the visuals together. There are so many late 80s/early 90s films that I associate with Danny Elfman and the director's vision.

There was a comic book series of both Hellraiser and Nightbreed and they had a crossover called jihad, The neat thing about the crossover was it had lasting effects in the comic series as well. It was good stuff!
Lori was my favorite character. She was incredibly brave and I appreciated how she became emotionally involved with the Nightbreed which gave her motivation beyond her relationship with Boone. Most 80’s/90’s girlfriends of horror protagonists are constantly whining, screaming and fainting. Lori was a breath of fresh air in that sense.
Ah mr Jordan, Nightbreed is def one of my favourite monster movies. I had it on video in the early 90s and would watch it over and over again. I personally think it slightly better than Hellraiser but that just me. The actress who played the mother killed at the beginning is Valda Aviks, she primarily an opera/musical theatre singer and actress and I had singing lessons from her for about a year in the late 90s in London, it wasn't till years later I watched the film again and realised it was her in it 😱😎❤

Nightbreed is a cult classic! Although, I must say that I much prefer the original ending to this special edition: In it, Lori does not stab herself and lets Boon go, but more importantly, the priest finds Decker's body, puts the mask back on him and hangs him up like a scarecrow before saying "I saw their god master... He burned me! I want to burn him back!" and then uses Baphomet's water to resurrect him, screaming "HALLELUJAH!" over and over again.
I have never seen this version of the movie you’re watching… There’s an alternate ending than I am familiar with different scenes were switched in and out from the version I remember which was the original theatrical version. I think you should hunt down the other version of this movie. You may be happier with the ending. Because in many ways both of these versions are considerably different.
This is a movie that could benefit with an remake because the effects they could do now would be awesome. Maybe Oscar Isaac could play Decker this time!
