Well, you are wrong about one thing tough, Nightcore isn't just speed up song, it also makes the pitch higher and a true Nightcore is also remixed, in it's own way, most people don't try to remix it because it can sound horrible

I have this habit of cutting things up..and I can't help it.....I know it's not normal..and then I have depression.(makes my habit worse btw) and when it kicks in, I don't know what's worth fighting for

agreed, songs did sound a lot more energetic and better by speeding it up (that is why I am here anyway).. but it didn't seem to works so well for those with vocal in it..(becomes chipmunks remix). what I mean is more effort should be done to make it sound even better rather than just speed it up.. the quality of latest nightcore songs/remix is decreasing due to this misconception...
Actually you are right this is the ugly truth, that many pp are having a wrong concept that nighcore is actually just speed up OST 150%, and thus making lots of low quality "nightcore" remixes. if you can manage to find some true nightcore remix they sound really nice with good music sampling, added beats etc.. not just simply speed everything up..
Personally I love this, AND just sped up songs, a lot I the slow songs of today aren't as good, so I usually look up the Sped up version, it makes the songs more fun and upbeat

Ok, ok! I'm just saying... anyone can play this song at 1.5x speed and get the exact same result. Seems kinda silly to suddenly give it it's own genre. Also, I've listened to a few other "nightcore'd" songs and they actually have a distinctive difference from the original versions. So yeah, I guess Nightcore is a separate genre, but this isn't nightcore.

NIghtcore isnt the name of a band (well, it was once), they created this genre, then they splitted up. And now its some sort of youtube-music. You dont need any skill to speed it up and set the pitch up, but its awesome though. At least Nightcore isnt sold to earn money (as far as I know & hope), its made so we can enjoy some different sound. Usually I like only punk and alternative :D

If nightcore is a way of thinking that comes from the soul then everyone will view it differently simply because they are a different person, which means your opinion about what nightcore should be to someone else means nothing. However, i do agree that turning a song from linkin park into nightcore is redundant.

my understanding of nightcore is that it is supposed to be songs rocked up and made to sound relatively female either through speeding up or pitch increase, most nightcore songs on youtube are just rock songs sped up
