Eurielle - City Of The Dead Picture Link: pictures.4ever.eu/cartoons/ani... I don't own the original song or the picture. Everything belongs to their respective owners. I upload these videos to share the music with everyone.
I like to think that this song is about a holy paladin that he was given a quest to free a city from the undead but after a defeat he starts to lose his mind as he turns into an undead and this is his last memories and the latin part is his last plead to save his soul from eternal damnation
The angelic voice, the "hopeless" background, the deep lyrics combined with the Latin is just.. I can't explain, it's like it's mending my soul's cracks.
@@lulu111_the_cool its from a actual latin song - "Mozart's Requiem". Link to Lyrics and Translation ive been able to find: manlywarringahchoir.org.au/files/2011/01/English-Translation-of-Mozart-Requiem.pdf
Here is to help people out: The latin chorus lyrics were taken from the ‘Dies Irae’ prayer. They translate as follows: Rex tremendae majestatis Qui salvandos salvas gratis Salve me, Fons Pietatis Salve me, Fons Pietatis (King of Majesty tremendous, Who dost free salvation send us, Fount of pity, then befriend us Fount of pity, then befriend us) The latin lyrics were taken from the ‘Dies Irae’ prayer. They translate as follows: Quantus tremor est futurus Quando Judex est venturus Quantus tremor est futurus Quando Judex est venturus: (Oh, what fear man’s bosom rendeth, When from heaven the Judge descendeth Oh, what fear man’s bosom rendeth, When from heaven the Judge descendeth) These latin lyrics were put together by Eurielle herself; they translate as follows: Damnata, invisus, ubique Ab omnibus, ad infinitum: (Damned, hated, everywhere, by everyone, forever!)
I could take that idea of yours and write out the story leading to the battle, what happens during it, and the whole journey back from the battle as she sings
I see this as a mentally messed up person finally dying after so many failed suicide attempts and finding out it's not the safe haven they thought it was.
Seriously, The Nightcore version feels like something you'd hear in a club, and I keep expecting a drop XD. Conversely, the Anti-Nightcore feels grim and melancholic. And the original is just amazing. Also, That you for loving this comment Lady Tia. :D
This honestly sounds like a cleric or some form of holy warrior on the brink of madness, but they are holding on long enough to say a protective prayer for their allies to keep them safe.
I half agree I agree because I love the sound of latin I disagree because I have trouble learning simple languages such as Spanish so I would never be able to learn Latin
Kyle Kautz I actually used to work with a guy who knew Latin and he said (for him at least) it was relatively easy since you can figure out a good number of words based on the similarity they share with modern words.
I know there are already people who explained what those words meant, but i wanna say it again just for you. (Its a very free translation tho, i wanna express what i think sounds right) Oh you king who art the highest and most gracful, who saves those who are destinied out of graciousness, Save me, oh fountain of faith, Save me, fountin of faith (×2) (Rex tremendae majestatis, Qui salvandos salvis gratis, Salve me fons pietatis, Salve me fons pietatis) Everything will be in uproar, when the judge will descend from the heavens (2×) The cursed one, who will be hated everywhere and by everyone, until time ends (Quantus tremor est futurus Quando judex est venturus Damnata, invisus ubique, ab omnibus, ad infinitum) I hope I could be of help
I feel like Nightcore, vocaloid and the sound of this sounds much more deep, and personal. Is it just me? Who else thinks this? This song is so beautiful... also relatable. So majestic. I love it.
For those curious of what the Latin parts say, here’s a translation from google translate. I'm scared of what inside my head What's inside my soul I feel like I'm running but getting nowhere Fear is suffocating me I can't breath I feel like I'm drowning I'm sinking deeper White light fades to red As I enter the City of the dead King of tremendous majesty You save those who save freely Save me, source of pity Save me, source of pity King of tremendous majesty You save those who save freely Save me, source of pity Save me, source of pity I feel it burning through my veins It's driving me insane The fever is rising I'm going under Memories flash before my eyes I'm losing time The poison is killing me, taking over White light fades to red As I enter the City of the Dead King of tremendous majesty You save those who save freely Save me, source of pity Save me, source of pity King of tremendous majesty You save those who save freely Save me, source of pity Save me, source of pity How a tremor is When will the Judge come How a tremor is When will the Judge come Damned, not seen everywhere From all things to infinity King of tremendous majesty You save those who save freely Save me, source of pity Save me, source of pity King of tremendous majesty You save those who save freely Save me, source of pity Save me, source of pity King of tremendous majesty You save those who save freely Save me, source of pity Save me, source of pity.
Here's a proper translation of the Latin in the song, with contextual explanations of its meaning King of tremendous majesty (God) Who gives us salvation freely (alternatively, who saves those who are worthy of salvation) Save me, fount of piety ("fount of piety" is a catholic way to name the holy spirit) How great will be the trembling (quaking from fear, specifically) When the judge comes (down to earth, the day of judgement) The damned, loathed everywhere By everyone, for all time Most of it is from the Dies Irae, a medieval poem that is often used as part of the Requiem (mass for the dead) by the roman catholic church-
@@Frittergal14-el5qw np, google struggles with latin because word order in latin sentences doesn't matter, yet google translate was designed for modern languages where it does.
Me at 2:52 am : *sings the song* Me : am I singing this right? The demon I just summoned : yes, yes, your doing just fine. Me : ok. My pizza pockets wondering who I'm taking to:🤔
Its so bueatiful that its painful. I don't know how to put it. It touches my soul where no one in real life can. Its like mending the cracks within my soul but at the same time its accepting me.
The iron clad paladin was down, attempting to reach for his sword, he heard his princess singing, crying for his help as he tried to get up *Must...help...the...p-princess...* Then everything went black. He woke up about a day later, at least by his reckoning, he got his sword and used it as a support to walk. Wincing in pain he went to look for the princess. Although he found many bodies, most of them skeletons, it took him a few hours to find his princess. However, all he found was a pile of royal clothes, a skeleton in them. He noticed that there was no more flesh on it, yet like all the other skeletons he'd seen here, no animal would come near them. He noticed that the skeleton of his princess was holding an eerily looking skull. Everything he'd ever known was telling him to run, something was wrong here. Yet, he had to find out what happened to the princess he had sworn to protect. As he picked up the skull, he suddenly remembers what his princess had been singing: *I'm scared, of what's inside my head, of what's inside my soul...* suddenly he opens his eyes, its nighttime now, he finds he had been clutching the skull close to his chest. He hears his king nearby, searching for him. His king! He had to warn him. There was dark magic at place here. He tries to get up and run to his king but, he finds he is staying in the same position. *I feel like I'm running, but getting nowhere.* He tries to call out for his king, but nothing comes out. *Fear, suffocating me, I can't breathe* In fact, the more he struggled the more he was constricted in place. His white marks on his helmet, showing his devotion to the gods, were fading to red. *White light fades to red.* He remembered how this place was called 'The City of the Dead'. He had always wondered why, now he was about to find out. *As I enter the City of the Dead* His king! He was getting nearer! Maybe he could help! *Rex tremendae maiestatis Qui salvandos salvas gratis, Salva me, fons pietatis* Then the skull glowed and he tried to drop it, however it made him clutch it tighter and something started to travel through his body. *I feel, it burning through my veins* His muscles start to twitch, then spasm. *It's driving me insane, the fever is rising, I'm going under.* His head started to spin, what was he doing here again? What was his purpose? Who was he? *Memories flash before my head, I'm losing time* He felt whatever traveled through his body start to eat away at him *The poison is killing me, taking over* He took off his helmet and glanced at it, the white cloth now fully red as blood *White light fades to red, as I enter the City of the Dead* The king! He had- to warn- the KING! *Rex tremendae majestatis qui salvandos salvas gratis salve me, fons pietatis salve me, fons pietatis quantus tremor est futurus quando judex est venmmturus quantus tremor est futurus quando judex est venmmturus damnata, invisus ubique ab omnibus, ad infinitum* Something I wrote for fun and at the spur of a moment, sorry if I made a mistake or its bad
Latin: Rex tremendae majestatis Qui salvandos salvas gratis Salve me, Fons Pietatis Salve me, Fons Pietatis Quantus tremor est futurus Quando Judex est venturus Quantus tremor est futurus Quando Judex est venturus Damnata, invisus ubique Ab omnibus, ad infinitum English: His Majesty of the dreaded day of Judgement Who gives freely the waters of life I greet you, O font of pity I greet you, O font of kindness How uncertain is the future When the Judge arrives How uncertain is the future When the Judge arrives Condemned, shunned everywhere by everyone, forever Adding this since someone else's got buried.
The Latin feels like to me a Demon or a dark monster, gets banished. Im pretty sure the Latin has a positiv meaning. My Italian dad told me once that the word "gratis " always has a positive meaning Salve me = save me futurus= future Judex = Judge, probably has something in common with judiciary(justice) Invisus= similar like the Italian word inivisibele, english: invisible infinitum= Infinity
At first I didn't like the song and I was about to change it... Then it started to play some Latin and the adrenaline just started to flow through me. Great song. Love it ❤️❤️❤️
I do not even know what it says in latin but it is so amazing and i love in the second part when she says "quantus tremor est futurus quando judex est venmmturus quantus tremor est futurus quando judex est venmmturus" and suddenly she says the first part of latin with more beat...Nice Job.
Так странно, но мне кажется что я поняла чьи чувства могут быть описаны в этой песне. Все так гармонично сходится, аж дух захватывает. Скорее всего, я не права, но теперь я уже не смогу думать иначе.
~~~~~Polskie tłumaczenie~~~~ Boję się tego, co jest w mojej głowie co jest w mojej duszy Czuję się, jakbym biegł ale nigdzie się nie dostał Strach mnie dusi Nie mogę oddychać Czuję się, jakbym tonął Tonął coraz głębiej Białe światło zanika w czerwień, gdy wkraczam do miasta umarłych Królu straszny w swej wielkości, Co świat zbawiasz mimo złości, Zbaw mnie, Zdroju łaskawości! OMG I LOVE THIS SONG!!! It’s so haunting and beautiful! I’ve been listening to it all the time. I even wrote a story inspired by it. It’s been nightcored so well! And the picture is so fitting! Everything is perfect. Except one thing. It ends at 4:20. I’m thinking of learning Latin because it’s such a beautiful language. And it’s just...I don’t know...emotional I guess. I don’t know how to describe it.
I like to think that the latin is what the character remembers from their time in the militairy. and the english is them literally losing their mind while slowly dying. its like they see their life flash before their eyes while singing a latin chant they used in their unit before everyone got slaughtered and finally its their turn to leave the space of the living and be with them once again.
I feel like this is a tribute to all her fallen comrades. The fate of those who fall in battle is harsh but is it worse for those who have to live on with no one and nothing? A part of us always stays behind with every dear friend, pet, or relative we lose.
I love the fact that I have memorized the Latin lines in this and will randomly sing it. It's fun to see some people look at you in respect and others in wonder/worry of what your saying
@@abyssstrider2547 the first couple where only on all fours but now there’s a few walking upright honestly a neat party trick to show people but sadly those people seem to get freaked out and I never see them again think they’re just jealous I got walking goats
I swear its been 2 years since ive heard this song but i remember the words perfectly. Amazing song Edit i just remembered it again 3 years later and all the lyrics are still there in my head
for me, this song shows how the last seconds feels before death. You can feel how the life is draining slowly outta yourself. this pure feeling of all what happened. " quam sancta, quam serena, quam benigna, quam amoena, o castitatis lillium. " this abo is for your great work of sharing this song.
Hello. Welcome back old friends. Wow the years really pass by didn’t they. I remember when I first found night core at a young age and now I’m here living in my own place. Take a break. We all need one
This reminds me so much of the vibe of how the Dark and the Abyss from Dark Souls are described. A dark, calm place that brings comfort, even if it’s in death.
I suspect that everyone who reads this comment will think that I'm a psycho but if i hear someone talking about the death i feel just ... peaceful. It has been like this since all my grandparents died...
same i feel at peace with myself for once when i listen to this, i aslo feel cold hands on my sholder, i fel connected with the dead weird now that i say it outloud
Je vois pas beaucoup de gens parler français dans ce genre de vidéo en anglais hh chui d'accord avec toi elle est très belle cette musique comme tu l'as dis superbe...
This song reminds me of Link from the Legend of Zelda games. In Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Link goes to Hyrule field and that's where this song fits. The skeletons that come out at night make Hyrule the city of the dead and Link being the hero that he is, bravely faces them and kills them. I love Link.
