Fun fact. The saying blood is thicker than water used to mean effectively the opposite of what it means now. The original if I remember is “the blood of the consecration is thicker than the water of the womb” the friends you chose to stick with are more important than your family because the blood ties you choose are the ones that will hold stronger than any familial bond. At least that’s the original saying.
