This hits me hard, Not only does it bring awareness about depression but Verbal emotional abuse I dont think he may realize it but it truly did to my eyes Cuz abuse isnt just physical,sexual,neglect But can be emotional and verbal and doesnt always leave physical marks or evidence. I struggle with physical/verbal and emotional abuse at home along with depression and multipal disabilities

I have a chronic illness that causes many symptoms some of which are devastating. My mother who had the same disease was on her death bed for 3 years and I have a lot of the same symptoms, but right now because of school my career and everything going on I don’t have the luxury of staying in my room and waiting for either it or myself to go away. Because I am still having to go to work and school I do get comments from those who don’t believe me as the symptoms are not visible. So this song hit very close to home and I would just like to say thank you for posting it.

This song hits me right in my heart. Thank you Cherry for making this beautiful piece. It really felt like it saved me from all my nightmares. I don't have anyone to tell my problems to. Not my parents, not even my four siblings. I do have a close friend who I helped with. Yet, she already had enough problem I don't want her to bear more of mine. Hours turned to days, now I can't even trust my own family. I can't even trust myself. I got so depressed on that one day, I tore my skin with my own fingers. I did nothing but cry and lock myself in my room for a whole day I'm tired of living, of being hurt after keeping my problems all to myself. But I have no one. How many times have I saw them leave without realizing my lie and sitting down asking my problems. How many times have I tore my body, leaving permanent scars on them. This song really hits home. Unnecessary story, but when I was a child, I was playing doctor with my aunt. When I was pretending to ask for symptoms, I asked, "Do you have trouble controlling your emotions?" It may sound simple and cute, but in reality, my grandma was always locking me in the bathroom whenever I cried or complained, sometimes for hours. She would always say, "She's having trouble controlling her emotions again." In this exasperated and annoyed tone. I was always treated like a crazy and violent dog. Turns out, my grandma was a manipulative narcissist who needed a black sheep in the family so she could put the blame on them. I was that black sheep that would rebel whenever she tried to control me. I was just a five year old and was already told I couldn't control my emotions nor my sanity, and I really felt that it was my fault that I was acting out. Even when it was my grandma manipulating me into reacting negatively. I really felt like I was crazy when locked in that bathroom. All the provocations I had to endure as a child who only needed a nap like a normal child. It's scary not being able to control yourself when you're trying your best, with no support from anyone. You'll kick and scream as you try to resist, you feel like you're being controlled, so emotional over the simplest of things, and you'll sit in a corner wondering where the hell you went wrong for hours. I sometimes look back at my childhood and wonder, "Would it have been easier to keep quiet? To pretend we were the perfect family just as my grandma wanted?" And it wouldn't have been. I would have lost myself, destined to care for my grandma using all my savings and hard earned money till the day she dies. That was really the only reason I was born back then. Verbal abuse really hurts. Being told you can't control your emotions makes you lose trust in yourself. I always doubt my emotions and whether or not their valid because of her. When someone asks me if I'd rather be manipulated or physically tortured, I answer with physical torture. Reason being; When you're body is being harmed, you can have mediums to stop from losing your sanity. You know you're in danger and that you need to escape. But when you're being manipulated, you have no idea that you're following someone blindly. You think you can trust them, even if you feel like crap and lose trust in yourself. Becoming dependent on your enemies. And the trauma lasts forever. You can learn to manage the trauma but it will never leave your mind. People who mess with your mind are really the most disgusting creatures in this world. Moral of the story is; Take care of yourself. Know that you deserve nice things, treat yourself to what you like to the point that it's healthy, exercise your valuable body, and know that you are never too far gone. Too far gone doesn't exist. It can be hard to get yourself back on track mentally, but there are so many methods at your disposal. You deserve everything this world has to offer. : )

Yesterday was my father's 7th anniversary of him no longer being here (he pasted away to stage 4 lung cancer) but I'm doing ok even though it hurts a little knowing I could've done more with him before cancer took him permanently.
