"Nightcrawler had just finished dealing with all of the Sentinels. He recused every single mutant, and told them to go to recovery bays, that they-... Wait. There was another one in the mall? Scheiße!!! Jubilee was still captured? Now he's receiving a transmission from Beast. Space? Fighting Ronan? On their way back Magneto commandeered their ship with his magnetism because he was in a space station over Earth? Magneto is in space? He's CONTROLLING THE SENTINELS? Jubilee is being taken to SPACE? Kurt is a bit overwhelmed as he feels like he must of missed several events, it sounds like there was an entire campaign launched against the Sentinels and Magneto while he was away... Ah well. If he was the last mutant healthy enough to fight Magneto, so be it. Kurt pulled a favor from She-Hulk and borrowed her Fantasticar (she didn't need it, she was recovering from some incident in New York with Venom Goblin). He flew toward the station that Magneto was at, as he did so he pulled out his two Dura-Plastic swords. He opened the radio transmission from Beast, who managed to hack the comms from their prison cell. Beast offered assistance that they could risk themselves to break out but it may be dangerous... Nightcrawler laughed smiled and said, "Do not worry friends. Let me solo him."" Well played, I've always loved no ally decks and heroes that can function without them that don't feel busted are so much fun. I may be playing Nightcrawler protection as much as I play Shulk Pool now.

Thanks Ritsy! Loved the story as usual hahaha. I like how She-Hulk and Venom Goblin make a small cameo too 😂👌🏻 Nightcrawler is one of those heroes that plays so differently but feels smooth doing it, but I’m pretty sure he can just play like your standard build hero too. I’m excited for you to get him

Thanks Omar! And yea 🤦🏻‍♂️ i lowkey wish it was an optional trigger so when i forget i could have just chosen to not retaliate and don’t have to go back

Another great game! I hope to get him this weekend. Cannot wait to play perfect defense builds with him. That defense stat is nuts and with upgrades??? Let’s go!

That's a lot of upgrades and supports on the field! Went up against Mags too last night, but an early minion cascade with teamworking Acolytes beat me. Will try this matchup again soon.

Haha a lot for Magneto to exhaust 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ I ended up having to use Kurt’s big attack events to kill the minions here. I can definitely see that being a struggle without allies

In their infinite wisdom both my FLGS said 🤷‍♂️ with regard to NC availability. This is a good thing since no good things happen to my budget in those places. But that said I don’t think I would ever use Daytripper to pull a Bamf! from anywhere but the draw deck (assuming you know one is in there). Kurt seems to have a reasonable time with Bamf!s in the discard all by himself and Daytripper is the only other way to activate his AE ability. Plus there is the added intel of what is left in the deck. GG as usual - loved the chaos.

Thanks JJE! Fair point. I just always feel like i might flip to AE in which I’d really want the free Bamf! but i ended up not flipping as much especially as im playing perfect defense

As far as specialised training and Bamf goes, the rulebook says: When a card ability says to “declare [a hero] the defender” of an attack, that hero is considered to be making a basic defense. I assume 'perform' on sp. tr. is the same as make, otherwise how could Nightcrawler use his 3 defence?

However, I'm not sure Bamf works when you are already exhausted as it says: 'without exhausting him' - in other words, I believe, you can use bamf to get NC's 3 defence, but you don't have to exhaust him as per usual; but I'm not sure an exhausted NC can use his 3 defence for Bamf. Not sure! Anyway, thanks for another fun game; always great to watch you play!

@@brucehenderson-dm2qh thanks Bruce! I appreciate you 😁 In regards to the rulings, I’ve heard from many people who are confident he can do both. So Bamf! is a “basic defense” and can also trigger to reduce damage by Nightcrawler’s defense stat even if Kurt is already exhausted

Thanks for the clarification! I pronounced it correctly in my first game with him idk why i switched it up 😅 this is like the Stepford Cuckoos card where for some reason i kept pronouncing it “kuck-koos” 🤣

you didn't play your retaliate ! You can improve your retaliate with Dauntless and electrostatic armor. So you have retaliate 3 ! Thus you could have play Change of fortune and draw 4 cards ! two with change of fortune + two with unflappable and the specialist defense !

I couldn’t prioritize it lol. But yea if i could get retaliate 3 with Change of Fortune that would be insane 🤯 but i think i would have to lean more into a minion heavy build to get that going

I think you played magneto wrong and would have lost if you played him correctly. When he has 3 magnetic counters, you discard then reveal the magnetic card THEN remove the magnetic counters. At one point you revealed a card that said to deal damage equal to the number of magnetic counters, but since you removed them BEFORE you revealed the card you didn’t take any damage. Had you timed it correctly you would have lost as it would’ve done 3 damage and you had 3 health. Reread his main scheme, it says to reveal the magnetic card then remove the magnetic tokens, throughout the whole game you would remove the magnetic counters then reveal the card, that drastically alters gameplay

There was actually an errata on how the Magneto scenario plays. From Hall of Heroes: "No; you should remove the 3 magnet counters first before resolving the Magnetic card you revealed. -Alex"

@@cerealkilla187 yea pretty much 😆 Honestly i believe the intention was the way you described, but it could create an infinite loop if you reveal the magnetic card first, and the card adds a Magnet counter because then there would be 4 magnet counters and a counter was just placed triggering the main schemes forced response to mill for another magnetic card which could add another up to 5 and so on

Hi! I don’t seem to understand the same way you do. The context of the situation is basically this: 1 - Put a third magnetic counter 2 - Trigger the forced response 3 - reveal the next magnetic card (for example Metal Shards) and add another magnetic counter because of the revealed effect In this situation, since you have 4 counters, the question was : « Does adding the magnet counter retrigger the response before the counters have been removed. If it doesn’t trigger, why not?» The answer is « No, you SHOULD remove the 3 magnet counters first before resolving the magnetic card you revealed » but ONLY if the forced response would retrigger in this situation. The forced response of the main scheme says « reveal that card, then remove 3 counters ». So at the end of this situation: 1 - You have 4 magnetic counters on the main scheme because of the revealed card but you do not retrigger the forced response (you are still in the forced response window) 2 - Then you remove 3 magnetic counters 3 - You have 1 magnetic counter left on the main scheme. So it cannot create a loop since you remove 3 magnetic counters (out of 4 or even five). That’s how I understand the question and the answer.
