I just disagree with him about that kids shouldn't be playing it. I played it when I was 12 and I'm happy that I did, since I've never been as amazed by any game than GTA 3. Of course games today is a 1000 times more advanced, but it was extremely revolutionary when it came. It was the game of my dreams, I was fantasizing about a 3D GTA when I was playing GTA 1 & 2, and GTA 3 was even better than I had imagined it.
Who would imagine in that day, that in 15 years, the GTA series would become such gigantic monster in the mainstream media in general. I also love how no one in the report, neither the gamers or the journalists, could give a fair description of the gameplay elements.
actually, im playing gta 18 years after i first played it. now i'm playing it in the oculus rift Virtual reality home console. I am in the most realistic killing simulator there is for vr; a game that wasn't intended on being in vr. GTA V on a 2d screen feels silly... walking up to the person with your own body, with your own hands hitting a hooker with a pistol and with a click of a button my mod coerces the prostitute into my vehicle. the game is a program. but we can possibly be programed as well. >kill someone>get money when in real life the perceived risks are much more obvious. the closer we get to making these perceived risks seem real, the closer we are to mastering a real-world simulation. that's what really interests me about the whole thing with gta. they invented the sandbox open world genre, and to say it's a genre is an understatement. we are in the open world. but out interactions are heightened by the variabilities that real life offers, most of which have yet to be translated to the virtual world. with deep learning AI we will, finally, able to simulate decision making in a virtualy impossible to predict world (the harder to predict the more realistic we can grade it as)
This report has led to Rockstar filing for bankruptcy and going out of business. Unfortunately, every kid who ever played GTA 3 turned into a serial killer. Ted Koppel was so brave. Lessons learned.
The first guy I had the same exact mindset as me when I play any gta , to make as much money as possible and become the best as possible . Also those kids lack the maturity to even understand the real world .
lol the money is pretty much useless in gta 3 you can get all weapons and armor for free when you collect the hidden packages and do the police vigilante missions.

I remember watching stuff like this on the news.During this time and it's how i heard about g.T.A in the first place. it's what made me wanna play it I'll never forget once my cousin got ahold of it.We will stay up all night and play it.
There is not even a point system in gta 3. Whenever I watch these old videos on gta in the news a laugh when they say you’re rewarded with points for killing people and I’m like have they actually played the games there’s no point system
makes me wonder why no one ever talks about what the police do to you after you bump into them by accident ( i know the car thing was mentioned, but come on, they beat the ever living crap out of you just for walking into them). The host seems so manipulative to be honest. The older adults just don't get it i guess
The police will just look at you and then chances are Claude will look back and give them a finger but I remember one time I kept annoying bumping into one police officer and they arrested me 😂😅
I think that if the character rampage ends in death i just think kids are smarter realizing oh you can die from doing this why try it someone has to be really put there to put game to life
Playing a video game is like watching a movie and waiting for the story to unfold but when you don't feel like following the story in GTA you can just do whatever you feel like doing. I have played violant games from 7 and i am not violant i don't even kill insects if i can just put them in a box and take them out from the house.. xD Hurting a dog or a cat is far beyond unaccaptable in my view..
These are most likely generation x, consider that this video dates back to 2002. My father was a boomer instead, I constantly wanted to play to cause mayhem but he was so invested in the story that he didn't let me, he went as far as telling me "we need to find the briefcases tommy lost at the beginning, otherwise rockstar will ban us from playing". Once he even skipped work because he played all night long
