Struggling to pay your bills is somehow equal to the death and destruction of and around the world? 700 people died today, they would consider your struggles a blessing they'd eagerly trade places for. If you know the world ends tomorrow, you'll do the important things today, like spending time with friends and family. Making peace with your neighbors, and eating that last slice of cheesecake. You're leaving out the part where they forcibly removed over 1 million Palestinians from their land with zero compensation or plans on what to do with them. Gaza is one of the most densely populated areas on earth. There's no way to counterattack without slaughtering thousands of in ocent civilians. I do have a deep empathy for the Israeli civilians who have been killed, and the civilian targeting by Hezbollah is despicable, but...the Israeli government has been treating Palestinian people like dirt under their boots for decades. Something like this in a region as unstable as that was going to happen eventually. This is a situation where I find it difficult to express explicit support for either side.
