Funny story, my and my dad forgot that Santa Jack existed because we didn't use him that often and were stuck on the fire and ice fight (we didn't have internet in our house). We tried for weeks. Weeks turned to months before we gave up. We played older levels but no matter how hard we tried, once they turned into shadows they were untouchable. We left the game for seven years. I found it again after we moved in highschool. I played it again and found the Santa Jack mechanic by complete accident and beat the boss. My dad took me out to eat and we both had a good laugh at how dumb we were. And that's how it took me seven years to beat my very first ps2 game.
Something similar happend to me (although it didn't took me years to find out). When I was playing Lly Cooper 4 I didn't learn how to run until very end of the game where I accidentily hit the button that makes you run. I felt so dumb.
i love how capcom this game is, the camera angles before a boss, the voice effect that Oogie has when he becomes a giant, the cutscenes. If only this game was made with more inspiration and better combat.
@@Roxsleyimpfromhell yep, it aged quite well so a remaster likely would not change much of it. In other hand, a remake would really improve its visuals
Jack: "I swear to *Christmas* Oogie, if you sing that damn song again..." Oogie: "Well, well, well, look what the *bat* dragged in!" Jack: *Flame Pumpkin activated*
As someone who owns this game, I can say that I'm impressed, when I try beating any boss, I get my butt kicked, and I can never complete the dance challenges
His town was endangered. Saving it and his friends are the only thing important to him at the moment. If fellow skeletons pose a threat, he won't hesitate.
I used to play this game all the time as a kid, and while there are some games that certainly haven't aged well since childhood, this game is still a masterpiece and I love everything about it. ESPECIALLY that final boss, it's still one of the most epic and awesome boss fights I've ever seen!
Some BIG things need to be changed though....I do not want to hear Jack shouting "Soul Robber" every time he starts an attack(Like that can't get on Jar Jar Binks levels of annoying or anything, am i right?!), Two...I am not a fan of that rhythm minigame during boss fights, I mean for fucks sake, they're already singing the songs during the boss fights, why do I need an awful rhythm minigame on top of it with the same fucking lyrics?! ...Seriously get rid of these!
@@NashTheBlade They don't need to get rid of rhythm mini game. It fits with this game considering that a lot of the movie is all about the musicals not to mention that it's a fun way to do boss fights as well. They could improve upon it though such as the repeating music that has no good loop to it. The stuff like him repeating soul robber is not that bad of a thing. They could reduce it a bit but that's how it is when it comes to games like DMC, not to mention that it's made by Capcom.
I like the voice acting, songs and mechanism of the game, although some sounds while playing against the boss are too loud and they ruin the aesthetics of the game
Jack "something tells me that the most wonderful discoveries are a little closer to home." and then Sally says "by the way Jack, i'm pregnant." well Jack somehow got 5 skeleton children, look up the epilog from the movie/book.
Oh! I remember this game! I still remember the first time I actually played this too xD 5 year old me: *See’s a NBC game* “Oh! A Nightmare Before Christmas game! I bet it’s kid friendly and full of hope a sweetness!” Jack: *Grabs ghosts with soul-robber and violently beats them and whips them to the ground* 5 year old me: *Surprised Pikachu Face*
Jack: How and why did they make a whole video game about what's happened a few years after me saving Christmas? Everything did happen, and I did get the soul robber, but just why? Sally: I don't know... that game really shows everything you did, though!
0:00 Shadow Boogie Man #1 5:10 The Demon Kid (I forgot his name) 8:32 Giant Spider #1 13:35 Dr. Finkelstein 16:04 Barrel 17:56 Giant Spider #2 22:53 The Three Little Pranksters 27:34 Shadow Boogie Man #2 34:10 Fire and Ice Skeleton Giants 35:39 Oogie Boogie Man (Final Boss)
Notice they’re fingers crossed behind there back when jack leaves Yep they still work for oogie boogie now and forever Me: I wouldn’t double cross the pumpkin king if I where them
I really loved it, I think you missed one in the christmas world but it's perfect, I really felt all the songs and the adrenaline of seeing you hit all the notes, congratulations, you won a sub❤✌
Something about the spider bobbing up and down with the music during Jack and Sally's duet in the boss fight fucking cracks me up. It looks so excited to be part of a musical.
