Nightmare Busters is a run and gun action video game developed by the French company Arcade Zone for the Super NES. Originally planned for a 1995 release by Nichibutsu, the game was cancelled due to financial issues, but its development was resumed by Arcade Zone in the 2010s after fans who played beta cartridges of it called for an official release, which took place on December 23, 2013 by Super Fighter Team.The game's unusually tardy release, about fourteen years after the Super NES was discontinued in North America, makes it the first official game for the console after this period.

This game feels like the "3 Wonders" port we never got. The graphics do look impressive for the time this game was originally planned.

This is what I love so much about the 2010’s. There were so many active fans putting so much efforts to have games like this to get its release regardless, making people aware there is still a market out there for SNES lovers and lovers of retro games and concepts. It’s just a decade ago but I already miss that time.

Nintendo still put a nice effort into games that era. After that (snes) good developers all switched to Sony and Sega. How it looks if you play any n64

@@mrpersonguy7286 that's not even remotely true. There are fantastic games on every Nintendo console since the snes. On top of that, Nintendo has the only real portable systems. The psp was the only other thing that matter and it had no successor.

This game is really good. I have a physical copy and also added it to my snes classic. Soundtrack is good too. Highly recommend.

This game is very hard, maybe the most hardest arcade style for SNES. The good news, is this game have a secret menu options for a turbo shots and select level if you die, make the game more enjoyable. On title screen, you can press Y + R + L + Down + Down + Right (SNES controller buttons), if you made correctly, a sound confirmation tells you the menu is avaliable into the options and now you can activate the turbo shots and select the level that you want. This secret cheat works for the prototype version and this Super Fighter Team version. Enjoy it!

Well this is because is a very arcade style, maybe the most hardest arcade style for SNES. The good news is this game have a secret menu options for activate a turbo shots (rapid fire) and select level if you die, make the game more enjoyable. @@o-datsingh7296 At the title screen when the screen is fading go Y button, R button , Left , Down, Down, Right Direction and you should hear a tone that indicates the code works. Go into the menu and you should see additional options. ( it works on Reproduction cart as well)

I remember seeing a preview of this in EGM! I was looking forward to it too even though it only was listed as a Japanese release...Watching that first stage shows me how brutal some games could be as this looks like Contra-levels of enemy swarms...

The game's alright. I really like the way it looks but the difficulty of the levels was a bit excessive, even on the easier difficulty. Bosses weren't so challenging though; it's just getting through levels that can be frustrating. It feels like a game that was designed with arcade difficulty but limited lives. The gameplay here makes it look pretty easy but there are many parts where you will get hit if you don't know exactly what's about to happen. So there's a lot of trial and error involved. I wanted to love Nightmare Busters, and while I do really like the game overall, I wouldn't say it's among my favorites on the Super Nintendo.

When someone is learning this game the advice I give them on stage 2 is to get rid of those one-legged lumberjacks as fast as you can and use magic if needs-be. If you let them on the screen too long they start their shenanigans and you just end up getting rekd. Otherwise GG.
