"He's ancient, he's ugly, I don't know which is worse!" well... Oogie Boogie come from a world where everyone is monsters and whoever is the scariest is the best, so wouldn't calling someone ugly be more of a compliment?

I'm sure Danny Elfman and the Boingo guys love that these renditions are so authentic in spirit to the originals. If they had only tried to cover the songs, it would have failed. But each band injects its own character into each song....and NAIL it! Bravo, everyone!!
makes me think of some alternate universe where jack and oogie switched roles somehow. not sure if that's what they were going for, but it's absolutely perfect either way
I like this version. I think of it as if that's calmness on his voice makes his actions even scarier. As if he doesn't see anything that he is doing as wrong
I think one of the critical character traits is that the oogie boogie is evil by intention. He knows what he is doing is evil and he LIKES it. It's why he admits to cheating.

i find it kinda cool how even though oogie has the least amount of screen time of any disney villan(topping out at a measly 10 minuts), he is still one of the most popular!
What would have made this perfect would be if he went like, psycho sounding at the end, like the boredom in his voice sounds like he's trying to keep his composure whilst he tortures his victim, and it would be cool to have him sound like he snapped at the end!
Like, his tone got slowly and steadily more hysterical from about 2:14 so that by the end he sounded absolutely crazed, frenzied even. I dunno, I just think there were things that could of been done to make the song a bit more like something out of the movie. But, if all else fails, give this song to Set It Off, they would slay it.

I've always dug this revisit! Tiger army are one of my favorite bands, but HOLY FUCK could you imagine if Nekromantix did it?! That would be so perfect, Nekroman would do it such justice. I'll long for that to happen for the rest of my life lol

I see that not olot of humans don't like this cover, I've heard many metal covers of this song and I must say that this is one of the best covers, yeah it doesn't fit oogie's style but c,mon this singer's voice is kickass
I like the music, and I like the singer's voice, but it seems like he's just... singing it. There's no passion, no feeling, and I don't feel the character coming through like it some of the other covers. Just... going through the motions.
While I have to agree, it is completely soulless, there's something oddly nice-sounding about this cover, and not just the music. Although I'm probably the only one who feels this way, to me this cover is like stop-motion animation, I SHOULD find this inferior to other covers/mediums, but there's something oddly charming about it, and I DO think it is his voice.

Oh how I love this! His voice seems so imperfect for it and that's what makes it perfect! It sounds so sadistic which is JUST like Oogie Boogie! So perfect~!
Not trying to be rude, but most remakes of the song lack of what made the original great: Emotion In the original, Oogie Boogie sounded like he was actually ENJOYING torturing Santa Claus. And changes his tone sometimes. But in this one, it just sounds like a Microsoft Sam type thing. But the singing is good, it's just the choice of the song that ruined it.
That's because the original was made to be used in the movie so acting was part of the song. This is just a cover like any other song on the radio. It isn't supposed to be as emotional as the movie version.
So in the comments I'm reading how everyone is saying they imagine Jack singing this and I actually agree. I feel that this could be like... jack singing to Oogie Boogie to give him a taste of his own medicine.

I think we all can agree that we imagine a Gentleman. Singing this song. Maybe even old Fashioned. I say that because Jack, Bill Chiper, Brendy. Ect. They all have this Gentleman vibe am I right?
I can respect that it's your opinion but...the singer of this cover just sounds...well the emotion just feels empty compared to the original. The original singer sounds like he's having fun mocking Santa's face and it doesn't sound faked in any way whilst this cover doesn't really have any effort put in, he just sings through it then it's over.
