Glass canon I reckon. Youngest house with ‘Ours is the Fury’ motto lends itself to some impetuous behaviour. Counter characteristically may be great weapon (warhammer) cavalry who are good against high armour targets and/or sustained combat

With an hobby knife they pop right off the bases. There are just little pegs at the feet. For cavalry should theoretically be he same, but I haven’t tried it yet.

If you buy this set you get all the cards and dice you need to play. However, it is important to know this is a single army set. You have ONE army, (Nights Watch) and all the tokens, scenery, cards, and items that come in the base game. This is not a two player set.

@@emmanuelzarate111 Right, you either by the two-player Starks vs Lannister army set, or you buy one a single army set and play against someone who has another army (or if you want to host people to play the game, you could get two single army starters)

Yes, you can. Currently, the Free Folk, with their No Coin Beyond the wall rule, are the only faction that can not.

They're 28mm, about the same size as nolzur minis from DND, but better imo.

This is an army starter set and comes with enough materials for one faction (one side) to play, as opposed to the two-person Starks vs Lannister starter set. You could pick this up and walk into your local FLGs to play with other ASOIAF TMG players right out of the box. You'll have your own scenery, tactics cards, dice, non-combat units, combat units, movement rulers, etc.

Yes! There is still room to add flourishes and details in o’clock other than black on their clothes. I actually am enjoying them a lot!

The Faction Starter sets provide you with a full army that you can jump in and play with other ASOIAF tmg players with. If you want two factions, the two-player core starter set (Starks vs. Lannisters) is a great starting spot!

@@OntheTableGaming ah right cheers, i was confused because when i first heard about this set last year my LGStore were telling me it was gonna be a cheaper alternative to get started because that starks and lannisters set is not the cheapest 2 player set on the market. If i'm perfectly honest i really just want these for the minis, they are so beautiful and i love how they've taken elements from the books and tv show in the design process on some characters. So I may end up biting the bullet and buying the lot eventually.

I think you're confusing starter set with two player packs. But yeah, copying the same pose 8+8+8 times was pathetic, not buying this shit when Warlord games exists and for the same price you get 156 greek hoplites fully customizable.

There is plenty of fun to be had with scenic basing!

@@OntheTableGaming the models are also rinse and repeat single poses... atleast have 2/3 pose variations... even 10/15mm have more pose variety. Cheaply manufactured and sold for a premium price because of the name. And I thought GW were bad for that behaviour.

@@insomniacbritgaming1632 at 6:22 I share some of the things that appeal to me about these miniatures and the games focus on gameplay - there is no pressure to paint or assemble miniatures in this game (although it makes them look great!). That being said, it looks like you might more interested in the hobby aspect - if I were to suggest another game that had an easy entry point and good miniatures for the price I'd suggest taking a look at Star Wars Legion from FFG. Fortunately, we live in the golden age of wargaming so there is something out there for everyone!

@@OntheTableGaming with my first name being what it is... I can't stand Star Wars ha loved it as a kid but the "use the force Luke" and "Luke I am your father" jokes get boring pretty fast. I wanted something in the fantasy setting that wasn't GW or Mantic... I'll hold out for Warlords of Erewhon by Warlord

Leo, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. The ASOIAF miniatures range does repeat sculpts in units, with units typically in the 4 to 5 poses. A lot of these older Night's Watch sculpts are in the lower range as they don't feature bannermen. As for the price, If I recall correctly the core box was 70ish USD and, if you dumped all the provided attachments in your units, it'd be a full army. You could never purchase another unit and be all set. It often rare to be able to pick up a full army for a game that price range - which I think really makes this accessible. As for Warlord games, I agree that has some great miniatures as well and you can get a lot of bang for your buck there (almost too much, I'm still going through French linemen...) If you're thinking about ASOIAF, be sure to check out some of the newer sculpts and expansions. Things have come a long way and the game really plays well. Just to clarify, unless there's a disclaimer, this was a personal purchase. I'm just a small-time dude having fun and sharing things I'm enthusiastic about. I do appreciate your feedback! I'll be mindful of how things may age when considering my phrasing in the future.
