I have been at care for over 25 years in various nursing homes, and I used to do nightshift work for about six years where I would be 4 nights on and 4 days off. And my shifts were 12 hour shifts. I did like the idea of nightshift work because there were no management around watching our every move and seemed fairly easy as we would mainly be doing cleaning of the lounge area and some ironing., and going round changing peoples pads and turning people etc and if I was working with a bunch of people, I liked it, made it even better. I have always suffered with mental health issues and in the end, my mental health got worse and then I was diagnosed with chronic leukaemia and other health issues. So sadly I had to stop doing caring and work which in some ways make things better for me, Mental Health. I found it hard after so many years of doing caring and having level three and two in health and social care, but I just could not cope. Now I am not working for a company and I can please myself. I do every now and again help people in my community by doing a little bit of private care which makes things easier for me because if I get sick or have problems with my mental health I’m my own boss and can say yes, or no for various people. What a great video. Keep up the good work..
She seems to have good residents there. On my night shift my residents wake up around midnight and have a busy time. But then we have dementia as well as residential.

@@chilombomululu6034 Nursing homes patients are bossy, you don't have a say but at Hospital they are guided by the Hospital procedures, laws and regulations.. Nursing home is more private so the patients are in their homes but Hospital is different. We treat everyone with dignity but l like Hospital protocols. For instance if a patient is rude in communication etc. You Datix: write incident report. And get a yellow card. Second time. Third one is red card. Care home is different
