Just when you thought it couldn't get any better with Nightwish, this one hits you like a juggernaut! The whole band were on fire here and Floor's vocals are insanely good. On the Floorgasm scale 1 to 10, this one's an eleven!
Marko's Devil character is amorously pursuing Floor's Mermaid character. She is having none of it. This is a pre -Marko song. From the 2nd album ,Oceanborn. Recorded in 1998 with Tarja, guest male vocals by Tapio Wilska, and Sami Vanska on bass. No, they haven't played it recently. If we haven't mentioned it before, this show was on the Decades tour, where they played a lot of older songs. Since you loved Floor's vocal styles in this, you should try Yours Is an Empty Hope, the Wembley 2015 is the most recommended version.
Can you imagine the time, when you can listen Nightwish without making reaction of it. Then, you can really enjoy their music. And that big beautiful smile is there forever.

This song is an absolute banger 🤘😎🤘. Kai's drumming on this is just crazy ( Kai Hahto "The Human Metronome", or in my book Kai "The Machine Gun" Hahto )!!! In one interview Tuomas/Marko said that Floor has a lungs of a dolphin (That long note is 💥)!!! Plus, she holds the last note (A4) of Nightwish - Ad Astra for 17 seconds (10/6/2022 Sweden Festival). If this wasn't impressive enough, I can also add than now she's just one, I mean ONE, second short from equaling Pavarotti's longest belt ever recorded. So,.... Nuff Said !!!! NWSU 🤘😎🤘
Rocked my world, but there's a "but" in my view: this was before Nightwish leaned to not put every good idea to a single song. Not a criticism, just an observation, I enjoyed the song immensely. Floor and Marco set the mood above that dirty raspy rhythm guitar of Emppu's. And my special mention goes to Kai Hahto the drummer, who executes the drumline like it was nothing! There are personal preferences between the two drummers*, but mine is Kai (perhaps too clean and clinical for some tastes, but just perfect for me). *I Know Jukka performed through rampant insomnia and terrible migraines, I would have thrown in the towel way before he did. But he's a performer and a musician, in that profession tapping out is sacrilege. Kudos to Jukka for all the years, your showmanship was second to none, and the drumming superb, And maybe the drum skins can avoid another beating to within inches of their lives😃.
Been waiting for this one, love the song, love you, agree with everything you said after the song. FLOOR did her own concert back at the beginning of 2022 in Amsterdam. You need to hear a few songs from this one (slow love slow)(face your demon's)(storm in a glass)(sweet cruse)all very good, PLEASE..LOL

The album version was unremarkable performance-wise. Tapio Wilska just didn't have it and Tarja could not do those glissandi or the vocal variation (the grit you mentioned for example). Live, after Marko joined, I haven't yet got a video for but Tarja still would have done something similar to the album I imagine. I'll see of I can find one as, after Floor and Marco reimagined ot for the Decades tour (which this is from) it rapidly rose to number 4 in my favourites. Obviously the music was there before but the Marco/Floor partnership brought to light the hidden genius behind the writing, for me. The drumming in this is madness - those missed beats when Floor does the slightly off-beat vocal onset, for example, but throughout, in fact. No, it is not currently performed. It was played a lot on the Summer of Wilderness and Oceanborn tours, back in 1999 but then dropped out (unsurprisingly given my previous comments) until this Decades tour in 2018/19. It was played 82 times in that tour, but sadly dropped again for the current tour. Well, there are so many great songs, they can't keep playing all the old ones or they couldn't do the new material without extending the concerts to 4 hours! And there are songs Tuomas has said he can't imagine performing again since Marco left (though that may, hopefully, change at some time).

Just last night, I learned that a dive into non-biblical ancient sources (Book of Enoch, Book of Giants, Book of Jubilee, and Genesis B) reveals strong ties between the devil, the nephilim, and the human mothers of the nephilim, cursed as sirens of the deep, dark ocean. Much like Dante's Divine Comedy, these books may have been elaborate Enoch fan fiction tied loosely to Genesis, or Genesis may have been written with a brief summary of Enoch's tales already in mind as part of Israel's origin story. Either way, I freshly realized again just how deep Tuomas goes with his lyrics! Thanks for a great, interestingly-timed start to my day!

Jinger!!! That song is an overwhelming train without brakes... the power imposed by the battery is devastating, and the musicality slides without limits, in addition to telling a fascinating story! In my top 10 of NW songs for a long time, it's almost perfect, even though it wasn't written for Floor's voice, she transforms it into something magnificent. That's a classic, from the early days of the band with Tarja, and it even predates Marco. Floor handles it well, of course. By the way, I had my Jinjer concert last night, with P.O.D., Vended, and Space of Variations. My hearing may take a day or two to fully recover, my rib cage was vibrating from the bass players all night, and Tatiana was even more attractive in person, which I didn't think possible. I'm exhausted but happy.
A 20-year-old song, but now a new version. Both male and female singers have changed. But I love this version! And as you can see, many others love it too!

There are a few songs where Floor sings his part in the current tour. And she does that amazing, but that's no surprise. My favorite Nightwish song is "Planet Hell" and then particularly the current tour-version, where Floor does her and Marko's part. You'll love that one too!

I’ve been waiting for this one. One of my absolute favorites! An incredible performance. And I love the perpetual smile ever growing the entire duration of the song. As far as them still playing this.. Probably not unless they bring in a male vocalist, I don't think Troy could pull that off. He's more of a gnome than a demon lol. BTW, before they had Marco, these heavy male roles were filled by Tuomas's friend Wilksa in the studio and on stage. Just a small observation: perhaps put the names of both your (new) patreons and YT members centered onto one splash screen, and show it just a bit longer. Now those two screens fly by quite quickly. I'm sure showing your viewers won't mind seeing/reading the patreon and YT member listing a second or two longer.
Usual smiley face, still no tissues, I get quite reminiscent when I watch rock bands I'm from the UK when I was a young sprocket we had a clothes shop in Nottingham called void, alternative clothing I had so many clothes, like Floors hard to believe now I'm too old to wear such things, I was tall and thin too. So Jinger and everyone grab your youth by the balls and live it I'm glad I did. Wonderful reaction as always.

Nightwish have some kick ass songs, but not really one of my favorite bands. Floor Jansen is one hell of a singer though. Wishing her a speedy recovery from her recent cancer operation...... .
It's a real highlight from this Decades tour, I thought it was the best from the old picks together with Dead Boy's Poem. The story and the setting of the song are quite dramatic, which suits Floor perfectly. I'm not sure if they played this since the Decades tour, but now without Marco it's just not going to work out... They'd have to get a new male vocalist at a similar level to even try it again.
for a long time this way far and away my fave nightwish performance. interestingly enough though, i cant stand the studio version. like, its probably in my bottom 3 NW songs. but this performance does it for me, glad you enjoyed it too! another similar song (possibly) is the pharoah sails to orion. theres a live version with tarja from way back thats pretty good. looking forward to saturday 😎
This is definitely in my top 3 Nightwish songs. Between Floor's vocal gymnastics, Kai's drumming, Marco's singing, Toumas's composition, and Empuu's riffs... A perfect song. Knew you would love this one.
