NIGHTWISH - "Ghost Love Score" (LIVE) (Reaction) 

Because I've received quite a few comments about the overlay and logo in the video: I do apologize for the overlay and logo, which is placed there for routine copyright protocols simply because copyright is always a concern when doing reactions. Though with Nightwish it's become my understanding that they don't block videos using their work, the video will still receive a copyright claim (as do ALL song reactions), meaning the creator of the video will not be able to monetize on it, and all earned ad revenue will subsequently be rewarded to the rights holder of the copyrighted material. However, If the video features commentary that is centered around delivering an educationally valuable analysis or critique (which I try my best to achieve), then one might be able to monetize the video by claiming Fair Use (which can be hit or miss depending on the specific publishing company, or rights holder); but based on what I've been able to determine from my posts, it seems that many times one will have better success in achieving that if the original copyrighted video is "transformed" in some way from its original context, which is why I have the logo and overlay over the original video. Normally, "transforming" a video would also include chopping parts of it down, but that's not really something I'm willing to bend on because I believe a song should be heard in its entirety without interruption. Having said that, I don't mean to imply monetization on these videos is by any means the most important thing about doing them, because the MOST important things are enjoying and discovering great music, and helping to grow a community of true music appreciators with all of you -- THAT is the channel's mission, regardless of how many videos are able to be monetized. Connecting and bonding with each of you over a shared love for music on that level is why I love doing this, and is what makes me want to create my own music. But as a husband and a father looking to help provide for his family and to grow the channel into an at least somewhat sustainable business model and source of income, I do my best to try and monetize every possible video. I do sincerely apologize again, and am sorry for the long-winded response, but I wanted to give you a completely honest and transparent response. This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F5). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the set list in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. AND The master of that Magic is: Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish) Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people. The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival. For me, it is Jukka on the drums. Not one beat more, not one beat less than needed. Of course, most people react more to the guitar, or bass, keyboard. Severely suffering with insomnia and doing a show with this quality is just beyond human. If you pay close attention to Jukka, he's like: come on guys, let's give them a show they won't forget. I loved your reaction, thank you! Please continue on the journey and please let us come along for the ride! My recommendation is definitely to simply follow Gabriels list. It introduces various elements of Nightwish in a natural manner, one at a time. Believe me, you've seen nothing yet. Essentially first 20 songs (I don't remember exactly) on Gabriels list were written for singers other than Floor. She joined the band on the US leg of the tour (mid-tour!) you witnessed here. This was her first performance with the band on European soil. This was essentially the worlds introduction to Floor. And if you pay close attention to the video when she hits that high note at the end, you can see the crowd is literally stunned. Please watch that part again and really pay attention to the video, it's just a second or two of a crowd shot there - you'll see what I mean immediately. The whole crowd has stopped bobbing their heads and are standing in awe.

The most versatile, powerful, emotive vocalist on the planet. She is an endless endevour to watch and witness. The keyboardist, Tuomas, also composes virtually all the music and lyrics. Floor Jansen, the Dutch Lead singer, had only been with the band for ten months and had already made every song, by the previous two singers, her own. This is still only a part of which she is capable, there will be more operatic, rock and growling depending on what each song needs.

Floor Jansen is a beast. Old school epic rock ballad. There is another amazing talent who IMO the finest talent I ever heard. Her name is Angelina Jordan. Like her, I highly recommend that you read all of Gabriel Bardac's comment and follow the link at the end of it to get to Gabriel's list of fantastic Nightwish live performances. Nightwish is one of the rare bands whose live performances are even better than their studio productions. Our 6'1" Valkyrie goddess, Floor Jansen (Yan-sen) killed this concert and everything up to and including this year's Nightwish 2022 Human | Nature world tour. 95 percent of their music and lyrics are composed by the keyboardist, Tuomas Holopainen. What a fantastic reaction. I loved, loved, loved it. I hope to see you back again soon with more Nightwish live reactions.

They are my drug when depression hits! Not that I’m a classic depressed person, but too many loved ones around me died too young and the only cure is the music and performances by Nightwish. My youth was Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Peter Frampton and many more, now it’s just Nightwish and honestly also some of the music their members make outside Nightwish. Marco’s new album has some beautiful numbers.

welcome to the fantastic symphonic metal universe of Nightwish Band, their live performances are some of the things that come so close to epic that they get to be mythical and of course Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music, she can sing anything in any musical style she wants (WARNING! her voice, her stage presence, her charisma, in one word: her "spell" is highly addictive). this concert (wacken 2013) is incredibly epic and deserves to be watched and reacted entirely, song by song, in particular I suggest these three songs: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream" this performance of "ghost love score" is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" from 2015 concert at the london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" from 2015 concert in tampere - finland (actually there is a fourth best performance: "dead boy's poem" from the 2018 concert in buenos aires).

Glad you decided to react to this band..Welcome to Symphonic Metal.this is with their 3rd singer Floor Jansen,a 6’1” Dutch vocal beast who’s had classical training and been with the band since 2012.They’re definitely a band that are better live,their studio stuff is good but it’s their live performances where they shine…they go from operatic though to rock,folk,Celtic and on to thrash and everything in between,hope you decide to dip your toe into some more. If you decide to react to some more NightWish then Gabriel’s list is the best option to choose from as all his links have all great audio quality and are from the best concerts performance wise😊👍

Always nice when some hear other things than just singing like me. Floor is beyond amazing but so is the music behind her like it has always been. 🤘

Most of the suggestions will be from 2013 and on, from when this singer joined the band, but they go back to the late 90's, and all eras are worth exploring, so don't be afraid to check out soem of the less requested older stuff. There is a strong Floor fanbase that takes over every reaction channel that starts doing Nightwish, so it's easy to be kept in one period of the band.

Great reaction, and you managed to pick up so many subtleties on the first watch which just tells about your proficiency in the musical area. But what I really wanted to lift up here in the comments is your Original Music - I put on the 'Play All' from the profile and left it playing on the wireless headphones while doing other stuff and found that I'm really digging it, the tracks are really different but always groove nicely and have an interesting atmosphere.
