I love Amy Lee and her particular style, it's quite good. That said, she absolutely CAN NOT do what Floor does. Comparing the two is utterly hilarious. It's like comparing Britney Spears to Pavarotti.
Yet a other Floorgasm!! Her name is Floor, she is dutch, but the band is from Finland. They have been around since 1996. I've listened to them since 2002. Best band in the world!!
Floor is the best thing ever happend to this band... She is an angel, obviously... or, maybe.... the devil. Amy Lee is not able to do things like Floor... Floor is on another level...
@@dentistlinguist6569 Floor is perfect. She is a powerhouse vocalist and her stage presence is that of a warrior queen. And Nightwish' songs are great at creating an imaginary, dream-like, epic atmosphere that reminds me of lands of wonder, epic battles, mythical creatures, magical forests, almost like a fairytale. Their songs always manage to take me to such places and make my imagination travel to faraway worlds and dreamlands. HOWEVER, when I actually go through shit in real life, when I'm sad, angry, depressed, when facing loss etc. I will rush to Evanescence's songs and Amy's voice and emotion. Floor is technically perfect, she has a wide range and versatility and she definitely can entertain. But Amy, even with her flawed at times technique, has my heart. Amy writes and sings about reality, she discusses touching subjects and her voice is that of an angel. Nightwish are great for an entertaining show, but Evanescence are great for a lonely, sleepless and depressing night.
@@SynphamyMusic I have. It's just that Evanescence lyrics seem far more emotional to me. That's just me though. I can connect with Evanescence on a deeper level.
Symphonic Metal is an experience in and of itself. Floor Jansen, who fronts Nightwish currently, is not only a power house, but she is a force of nature. God tier vocalist, I doubt we will ever see another with her range, versatility and talent for many, many years to come. She is simply one of a kind and a true master of her art. I've seen them live, and there aren't enough words in any diction to describe what it's like to be in front of them while they perform. The music reverberates throughout your body and her vocals manage to penetrate the soul. Most importantly, they don't treat their gigs like a job, they're there to have a good time along with us, to share their music with their fans and party together. The band loves to involve the crowd and Floor feeds off the crowds energy. The louder the crowd, the louder her voice. There's no one way street about it. When the band is having a good time, so are you. When you're having a good time, so is the band. And it shows. :) Hope you check out more Nightwish! You cannot go wrong with anything from Wacken 2013, Wembley or Tampere (and numerous other official live recordings - and I say 'live' specifically because they are a live band and their near-raw sound is leagues above the editing done to albums!). Just as well, this is Nightwish so you shouldn't limit yourself to one era of their music. They have had two other singers, Tarja and Annette. I'm sure others will have plenty of suggestions for you with them on the vocals. Enjoy!
Perfectly worded, and I'd add that he should indeed venture into After Forever, where the Goddess got her start. This is not even the best ending note recorded of this performance, either. I say everyone who doesn't suggest checking out the ending at Buenos Aires 2012 is surely robbing one of an amazing ending, no matter how well loved this Wacken Performance is (by not only myself but MASSES of fans), that one is and will forever be the one that I will suggest.
This song is absolutely amazing. It is almost like being out at a night at the opera. I have heard this song/ video about 20 times and I still get goosebumps every time. Thank you for doing this song, and keep up the great work!
I love Evanescence. Amy Lee was my favorite vocalist for a long time... And the I watched this video and nothing can compare to Floors power and her ability change styles. I would love to hear the two song together though. I think it would beautiful!
It was about a month ago when I found this song on another subscription channel and this song instantly became my long lost anthem; I had suggested it on here and it is a blessing to see you reacting to it, this is a milestone song of the times!
I love Amy Lee but Floor Jansen would crush her. I have seen both live and Floor definitely has what Amy's got going on x 10 plus more. That's why when she starts hitting on all cylinders, it's called a Floorgasm. She is a Valkyrie, a Norse goddess even IMHO.
That's why when she starts hitting on all cylinders, it's called a Floorgasm, never heard that comparison before, allmost choked on my beer. But she wasn't misfiring before, she just didn't Floor the pedal to the max. Check out this first Floorgasme, my personal favourite ; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r68y-IoMGtk.html

Only thign Amy does have over her, is the fact she can play multiple instruments and basically is a major part of the writing and composing of EVanescence. Pure vocalwise she is obviously no match. Not that it is required of her for the type of stuff she does.
@@TerranigmaQuintet Exactly. Amy never claimed she is a great vocalist. She is an artist first and foremost. And a really good one at that. She surely knows how to pour emotions into her art. And her singing abilities are just fine for what she needs to do. Of course she could improve in some areas, but overall she is great at what she's doing. Obviously she wouldn't make it in symphonic metal.. but she never claimed she would. She stays in her lane and she is successful in that.
@@theseeker2586 Think some people are more upset about the reactor making the comparison rather than they thinking Amy Lee thinks she could compete. EVen then I think it is misrepresenting what he said here. Don't even think he ever said he saw them as equal, heck , he even asks IF Evanescence ever did something similar, suggesting that what he had heard of them did not compare.
So happy you are doing this one!! Toumas, the keyboardist, writes all Nightwish songs, except a few songs they do a cover on. Floor, the lead singer, was called by Toumas, at her sisters wedding to fill in for the group, when lead singer Annette who was expecting got the flu and was taken to hospital here in US. Floor had 36 hours to learn all the songs they were playing on tour. I think, she did a fantastic job, as Nightwish songs, are not for the faint of heart, to try to sing. Thank you for playing this!
If anyone was going to replace Tarja ,Floor was the perfect choice! Her work with After Forever and ReVamp is just awesome! Missed a few reactions, but I'll be there for this one!
@@lauracosby7382 Saw them live on the last tour to come through Cleveland and she nailed everything...even Stargazers was pretty good and that one would have been tough to get perfect.
Going to a Nightwish concert is on my bucket list, even though I despise crowds and loud noises. They play with so much passion and power, and Floor has SUCH a masterful stage presence, I feel that this is one of those things you absolutely must experience in person at least once in your life.
When it comes to loud noises, I always recommend ear protection. I usually get those earplug ones. In some cases it actually makes the music sound better if it's in a enclosed space.
I am so glad you liked this song, Floor Jansen the singer, Jukka the drummer, Tuomas the keyboard player, composer and lyric writer for 95% of their music, Emppu the guitarist, Marco the bassist and vocals and Troy multi-instrumentalist and vocals. I saw them in concert about a year ago. They are amazing live. If you do more of their songs do the live versions. They are better than the studio versions. They had two singers before Floor. Tarja that you saw in the Phantom of the Opera video was their 1st singer. Then Annette was 2nd. Now you have Floor 3rd and current singer. Floor showed a lot of her diversity as a singer. It is worth hearing more of her. Not that Amy Lee is not a great singer, but in my opinion Floor''s vocal range is better than hers. I hope this information helped. I have been a sub for a while. Really enjoy your channel. I know you have many requests and the Nightwish fans are going to inundate you with them. So I will let you choose one of there's. Take care!

I found this band in Dec. 2017. I found you, when, you did a review of them. I sat back, watched your video's and was pretty quiet until I figured out, you could be trusted. That you were a good person. I am so glad I found you, your channel and your viewers. It is a family, a real honest to God family! Thank you for all you do!
Love Amy Lee. I didn't think anyone could be as good as her with their 2000 album until I heard these guys. I realized what I was looking for. I am both proud and happy to have found the perfect melody of classical melodies to the intensity of emotions and storytelling. It is what I think music should be at. Raw, pure and sublime.
Great reaction, love the t-shirt, and I'm pretty sure we have the same desk lol. I can tell from the little corner piece. "Poet and the Pendulum" is another great song from Nightwish that is absolutely astounding.
Ty, I've enjoyed a LOT of your reaction videos, and I've also seen a number of other people react to Ghost Love Score. I just knew you'd like it, as I do, so I was very eager to see this. It's the first thing I did when I got home from work.
I've had a crush on Amy Lee since high school (back in early 2000's), and I love and respect her singing ability, but she doesn't hold a candle to Floor. Floor has such a huge range. If you want to hear something heavier, check out "Yours Is An Empty Hope" Live on the cruise ship. Floor does something amazing during the chorus of that song. I'm do agree with you, though, I like to listen to this in the gym as well. Something about it, it has a bit of everything to it. The intensity, the feeling of awe, the angelic parts of Floors voice, and you're absolutely right, the drummer is insane!
Great Video Dude! I could see the Moment that it hit you. Like it did to myself. I couldn´t help it either. One of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. Greetings from Germany
Thanks for your reaction. I am a big Nightwish fan, and I’ve heard them in concert in 2015 and 2018. Floor is brilliant beyond words, but Amy Lee is also brilliant and so talented. good to hear you mention her also. (new sub )
I'm not even a Nightwish fan, but if Floor's final note doesn't bring tears to your eyes, there is something very wrong with you. Seriously, what a fucking masterpiece.
Amy is very good musician but she's not close to her. There're some other very good singers close to Floor. Tarja the first singer of Nightwish. She has full opera voice. Simone Simons from Epica, Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation, Dianne and Manuella from Xandria. Personally i like Floor more. Check The Poet And The Pedulum live from webley next.
Depends on your flavor I guess. Never liked Tarja. First time I heard Nightwish I thought, "if only Amy Lee were the singer". As much as I loved the composition, I just couldn't get into them because of Tarja. I'd actually take Amy over everyone you mentioned, except maybe Sharon. Floor, however, clearly has the most range and is the best fit for Nightwish.
@@ioanniskostoulas4448 LOL, what do you mean "No."? Don't be an elitist. Elitists are losers. Besides your opinion, what exactly are you basing that off of? I don't think we can say one way or the other unless we heard her make the attempt. I think she can swing most of them. Even if Amy weren't a perfect fit, at least I wouldn't have to cringe.
@@ecclesiastes118 It's not an elitisism. The first era of nightwish were songs writen for opera voice. It's clearly that Amy has not operatic voice. She's not a soprano. I like her voice a lot. But she could not fit to this. That'a why also Annete failed to this.
You may have opened Pandora's box with this reaction. Nightwish fans are fanatical and many absolutely love seeing others experience this group for the first time. Growing up, I had always wanted to see someone combine the passion of classical music with the power of metal. A few have tried.. Ah Hem.. Metallica and Scorpions (love them both) and sort of fell flat. When you get a chance, please check out the Poet and the Pendulum live at Wembly.. there is a backstory to that song that is important for context while you are listening to it. Song of Myself is also very, very good. If you're looking for something a little more mellow, check out Swansong (with Tarja as their vocalist) or Everdream (with Floor as the vocalist). Thank you for doing this reaction.
Nightwish has had three singers. First was Tarja check out the live Phantom of the opera with her. Next came Anette, as far as I know there are no live performances with her. Then there is Floor, Floor is the most recent singer. A lot of Nightwish fans dub that last note she does as the Floorgasm. As for Amy of Evanescence, her voice is beautiful in it's own right, but she has never done anything to this magnitude. Also Nightwish fans, raise your hand if you're as excited as I am about the new album dropping this year.

So, I wake up (makes me VERY happy), make my ablutions, roll downstairs, fire up youtube and see that MRM has *finally*, and I mean *finally* gotten around to Ghost Love Score @ Wacken 2013 lol. Glad to see you doing this one...I've listened to this well over 1000 times (not exaggerating) since "discovering" them in 2014. I knew the band, didn't like the original singer at all, so basically ignored them for a decade or so. I was just surfing RU-vid and something from the Wacken show popped up on the sidebar, and it said "Featuring Floor Jansen" or something like that, and I thought...hahaha, who names their kid Floor. So I clicked on the vid & watched it. Can't remember what song it was, but my thought process went...holy shit, look at the size of that woman (she was next to the guitarist at the time, he's only 5'2 and she's 6'1)....holy shit listen to the *voice* on that woman! I couple of songs later I got to GLS, and then it was all over. I watched the whole show from start to finish at that point, and, not exaggerating again, my life hasn't been the same since. I've been lucky enough to see them twice now, with my only regret being that in the US they play real small venues, so you don't get the epic stage setup & pyros like you get in the bigger European/festival shows. Although, I was in the front row in Baltimore and got to gaze upon the Amazon Warrior Queen the whole night from about 10' away, so there was that :). Watch the whole show like I did...you will be just amazed at how good they are live, what a musical/compositional genius Tuomas, the keyboardist, is (he writes about 95%) of the music, and what a complete and total badass Floor Jansen is. She kills it from the very first song until the last, about 1 1/2 hours singing songs that are not easy to sing, especially the way she sings them (tossing around belted G#5s like they're nothing); all of which were actually written for the 2 other singers that came before her. A brilliant performance not only by her, but the whole band. They've got two more live DVDs out of shows at Wembley Arena and at Ratina Stadium in Tampere, Finland. The latter show contains the even more epic that GLS (how is that possible lol) song The Greatest Show on Earth. That's one to react to, although quite long at 20+ minutes. And, they've got an upcoming live DVD from 2 shows they did on the South American leg of their recent 9 month long tour, which should be awesome...the South American fans are quite intense :).
Yeah Tuomas composes and writes the lyrics. But they shape the songs as a band: it's not just Tuomas' creation. I didn't inveent this by myself, but listening interviews from the band members.
I also want to add what Ann Waycroft said earlier, this song and all its splendor comes not only because Floors singin! This is, in my opinion the best live performance ever recorded! All the instruments and Floors singing is 100% all the time! There is NO hickups at all in this performance! Musically it sounds like a studio performance, but it is LIVE! I get allergies every time i hear this song and for that matter the Pendulum and the poet from Wembley!
Amy Lee is phenomenal in her own style but this is symphonic metal, a totally different vibe. Nightwish has an almost cult following so the naysayers will crap their panties at your suggestion of her being compared to their Amazon goddess. Lol. Grab some popcorn and watch 😉 Good honest reaction bro!
Well the comparison makes sense if it is made by someone unfamiliar with Synphonic metal/ Nightwish and this particular song, not the exact same genre, but to many AMericans it might be familiar. Female fronted band, gothic vibe etc. Can't lame them for that. ANd obviously some more fanatic NW fans might blow a fuse on the comparison, mostly because they misintepret it as it meaning they are at a same leel, instead of just being similar on a surface level to someone not in the know.
It's such a generic comparison. It's based only on oh both bands have female leads. The vocal style is totally different the music is totally different. It's a totally superficial comparison.
but Amy's voice is more versatile and conveys more emotion and I have never seen this Nightwish chick go outside of this operatic sining. In the end of the day, people listen to Evanescence and Amy cus their music is unique and she might not always sounds properly live but she sings with emotion and heart which,in most cases, is more important than sounding right.
@@simoo7755 U haven't watched much from her to say that then lol. The woman can go from operatic way down to growling, and within the same song if needed.
@@TerranigmaQuintet Amy might not be able to pull all those operetic high notes but her voice has more raw power to it,her voice is more suited for hard rock rather than classical rock. And I would like to hear how Floor would do with that song of Evanescence live ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sTU_b90DK5Y.html . And this Floor girl is indeed amazing but I hate it when people start belittling Amy's talent by comparing her with all these opera singer.
Floor Jansen is her name and Symphonic Metal is her game ..Try song of Myself from the same concert ..or Poet and the pendulum ..Floor is in a category of her own
Ty...Floor is the third vocalist and absolutely amazing! I saw her as an opening act a few years back with her band ReVamp. Opened for Iced Earth and Sabaton. The most recent was her first full tour with Nightwish for Endless Forms Most Beautiful. She is an incredible front woman. If you want an incredible experience, check out Epica's "Stabat Mater Dolorosa" where she joins Simone Simons onstage for a duet.
I agree with this except for one thing. Marco is also a Vocalist and a VERY GOOD one. He has taken Lead on a couple of songs while Annette was with them (maybe she was still ill, I don't know, but he did everything justice) and afterward, before Floor joined them. He's REALLY , REALLY good, you cannot count him out as a vocalist. Remember to check out The Islander; While Your Lips Are Still Red; and of course, Bye Bye Beautiful.
I saw that tour. Philadelphia show. Fantastic show. Met Floor after Revamp's set. So nice and humble. Talk to me snd my friend with no rushing us along.
@@jamescurfman3284 No discounting Marco in any way, shape or form. Love his work with Nightwish, Tarot and Northern Kings! His version of Don't Stop Believin' rocks like nothing else!
@@todde.florian7099 Right! I just had the tiny little problem when you mentioned that Floor is the third vocalist. She's actually the fourth. That's all. I agree with everything else. :)
Yay I love this song and I'm so glad you like it too :) As far as Ami performing with Floor, as long as you find a song that matches, or write something that matches the two would sound good together, and I'm pretty sure Tuomas could write it in a way that it'd work. All he's gotta do is make the best of each ladies range.
I've been waiting for you to get to Nightwish for abou a year now. I am so thrilled you got to see this. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish! Their music is written primarily by the keyboardist, Tuomas Holopainen. The female singer is Floor Jansen and that note she hits at the end is what we call a Floorgasm. You should check out "Nightwish - Romanticide (Live Wacken 2013)" next -- it features their male vocalist/bassist and Floor in a back and forth displaying some amazing vocal talent. Thanks and looking forward to more NW!
Nightwish was big with the band geeks when I was in high school. Every person in that band is like a world-class classically trained musician. Just masters at work.
Also for your "workout" playlist .... Nightwish songs: "Last Ride of the Day", "I Want My Tears Back" , "Poet and the Pendulum", "Bye Bye Beautiful", "10th Man Down" , "Élan" they're pretty fast paced, good beat, excellent vocals from each of the 3 different singers from Nightwish.
Ever Dream and Elvenpath are my two favorites, I think. This band is just too amazing. Though this is Floor Jansen on vocals, Tarja was the true voice.
First song I heard from Nightwish was Storytime. It kept coming up on some metal show/playlist every now and then and I listened to it a few times. Then I bought the album. This band also has a movie out that was written along side one of their albums, Imaginaerum. I've been to a concert, it was epic. Very flashy, lots of light work.
You should definitely react to Nightwish - The Poet and the Pendulum, live at Wembley. A very complex piece of music, in 4 acts. An absolute masterpiece!
Seen them in Concert 4 times now and it always Packs a punch. You just get lost in the music and you get high off of it. The Charisma the Band as whole exudes is massive. First saw the music Video for Nemo on music tv back when that song came out. I was about 9 and listening to a bunch of different stuff including a recording of Mozarts magic flute. Got the Once Album and have been a Fan ever since. Though I must say that I had a bit of a Problem with Anette at first. She did win me over on Imaginearum just in time to hear about her and the Band separating. I was a bit anxious at first but then the Band released a live video of Floor doing Ghost love score in Buenos Aires. Ghost love score had been one of my favourite songs since I first listened to Once, so to see Floor nail it like that and even elevate it... I was immidiatly sold on her... This wacken Show and the corresponding DVD are just phenomenal.
I love to see the overall growing interest of Nightwish is taking a peak at the moment, lot of Nightwish reactions from metalheads and non metalheads. Thanks for reaction to this band!
Really nice rewiew! I must have listened to this song about 500 times and the ending always brings tears to my eyes. I suppose that is the Floorgasm…...
I only "came" here for the Floorgasm. hahaha. I also only sub for Nightwish. ;) Edit: I love how you got lost in it at times. Brilliant. thats what its all about, my friend. the journey they take you on every time. re-edit: Amy Lee could only wish to produce something like this.
I really enjoyed your show today. I myself am new to Nightwish came across them about 2 months ago. I listen to this song at least 10 times a day every day if not more. As much as I enjoy Nightwish the best part of the show to me was the end and it was what you said. In Jesus name amen
To get this song, this version by this singer- you will need to get your mp3 from the Showtime Storytime album, next would be version from Vehicle of Spirit album...
Saw Nightwish in December... I've seen Kiss, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Maiden, tons of bands known for incredible stage shows, but i have to admit, for me, seeing Nightwish live was the best experience out of all of them.
BRO!!!! I watched this and then Larry Elder talk about his new film that just came out.......BRO!!!!!! You made it in that video I was just watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES! And this was the first time I have ever even seen a video from you!!!! WTF???? That is so fucking AWESOME!
Ghost Love Score at Waken 2013 seems to be a music reactor's induction. There are those who have seen it and those who have yet to see it. Did you watch "Greatest show on Earth" live from Tampere in Finland yet? Its a song about the history of the universe, including narration by Prof. Richard Dawkins. It is quite spectacular. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-45brzDJKZ3o.html
Modern medical science should try to find a way, to concentrate Floor Jansen's voice into a little pill. People would feel happy and warm all the time. Even her speaking voice is so soothing, thats why I like her interviews too, lol
The girl’s name is Floor Jansen. I don’t know a lot about Evanescence, but I think their newest album Synthesis is kinda like this. They redid a lot of their more popular songs in a more symphonic way kinda like this.
Amy lee from Evaneceanse would never pulled of Nightwish music in a billion years Next song Gotta be The poet and the pendulum live Wembley . Great reaction 👍👍👍🇸🇪
Love Nightwish! Would love to hear you react to Delain's "The Gathering" featuring Marco Hietala (he's the bass guitarist with Nightwish) the live version from Masters of Rock 2017
Just recommended you do this song and it happened to be the next one in the playlist from previous Nightwish. Taraj went to do her own thing and never got to meet her. I only now them with the next singer as humble, down to earth people. It was like in their honor to perform for you.
Nightwish are from Finland and they have been going for a long time. The singer, Floor, is from the Netherlands. Tuomas, the keyboard player, writes all the songs with some assistance from the basist, Marco. Their genre is defined as symphonic metal. This band is very productive, unique and totally professional.
Nightwish and evenescence are actually both classified as symphonic metal. Bit from what I've seen of both, nightwish just goes to a whole different level with it.
Evanescence are gothic rock/ heavy rock with some classical influences. Nightwish are symphonic metal with some gothic elements here and there. Not much similarity between the two.
@@theseeker2586 Closest reference for them to get, never claimed they were equal. or even exactly the same. But to someoen unfamiliar they may appear to be somewhat similar.
For some reason I was expecting a droid chant during the instrumental. I felt like it was an Irish rock band . Never heard of this group. The lead singer is great. Like that it was a video from a concert. You can see the fans reaction which helps appreciate her voice.
"That drummer is bad." What the fuck ? "I don't know this lady, but she's bad." Aah, that's this 80's slang where "bad" means good. Like that Nintendo Powerglove commercial.
