Love this song and reaction! I am seeing Nightwish tonight in Toronto.....can't wait!

Another top song, all about the negative impacts of organised religion. This is fantastic. I often wake up with this my head and can't get rid of it without playing another Nightwish. Kai Hahto - "the Human Metronome". Ha ha - was it a statement letting your hair down for this. That bass slide is great isn't it! Timeless lyrics from Tuomas - relevant today with the Ukraine situation - "from words, to war of the world, this one we forsake with scorn" in that superb voice of Marco's. And Marco plays 6 string really well, not just bass.

I am finally seeing Nightwish live on Saturday and I can't wait.

Perfect song to react to. A real masterpiece. Tonight is the start of Nightwish's May 2022 North America Tour in Toronto. I will be seeing this band at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco on May 18th.

This song is against organized religions based on tribal religious texts, especially The Bible, it's not against personal faith in some Deity. However, one should realize that all those religious texts are & have been interpreted and used to justify unimaginable cruelties, persecution, discrimination etc., the worst being the idea that man is separate from nature & by some divine right above all other lifeforms, which explains the current almost catastrophic state of our planet. lyrics are spot on - so many fractures in our world have a root in the fantasy that each of the religions/sects/whatever are THE ONE way. This song speaks, with anger, against the fact that we humans are destroying ourselves and this world based on a power structure that needs to be made obsolete - we ALL deserve better. I LOVE this Song . Especially Floor's Freddie Mercury pose at the end . I fly out tomorrow morning to Boston where I’ll be seeing Nightwish Saturday night and then again next Sunday back home in Denver.

Another really good Nightwish track. Fantastic drum intro, interesting acoustic expression especially their guitars, good build up, well Floor is always good, interesting instrumentation ...

As for the the drumming: Imho Kai is doing a phenomenal job during this concert especially in "The Greatest Show On Earth" which you reacted to. You should listen to that one again haha. And if you want to see him going crazy on the drums...."Sons of Winter and Stars" by his former band Wintersun. He'll blow your mind!😂🤘

This is one of Nightwish's best songs, if not THE best. Absolute Tuomas multi-stylistic banger, features all the players, timely and timeless lyrics. The Once Upon A Time part brings chills every time.

The drummer Kai Hahto is in my opinion one of the elite metal drummers (check out some of the drumcam videos out there). Originally schooled as a jazz drummer, then having a year in USA taught by the best, he has a nice technique of floating his heels free when needed to e.g. operate the left hi-hat. And Wintersun has already been mentioned in the comments, they may be his creative outlet to go all in and just let it rip.

I knew you were going to reference The Professor. Kai is a very technically talented drummer. Troy is playing the bouzouki! It is like a large mandolin. This song is dark because the message is a critique on organized religion's hypocritical teaching and the fear they preach to control the masses and empower themselves.

If you like metal with acoustic guitar parts, you need to try In Flames. Look for the songs Alias, Where the Dead Ships Dwell, Ever Dying, Gyroscope, Zombie inc, A New Dawn. In Flames are melodic death metal, seriously heavy but with some amazing acoustic parts thrown in.
