What I love the most about Anette’s voice is how thematic it is. It’s very much like a person in an epic story. It has very theatrical characteristics. Floor and Tarja are singers, but Anette is like an actress in a theater (which I believe is why Scaretale is strictly an Anette song). I love how she adds twists in the songs to suit herself. Love that woman ❤️. Love them all ❤️❤️❤️.

I think all three singers are talented! I will say that this is my favorite version of the song though.

Anette, you will be so missed...you brought life, light, and chemistry back to the band. I wish you all the best

nightwish must be the most complete band ever.. they have a biker (Jukka) a viking (marco) a pirate (tuomas) a hobbit (emppu) and a vampire (Anette) thats just fucking epic !! :-D

when I first heard Nightwish I heard annett but I after I heard the tarja I wish they didn't change her. Tarja has a sophisticated and metallic quality to her way of singing. I enjoy her sing. Her way of singing and the other band members sounded very well together. I wish they would put her back on and keep annette if they like for vocal variety

My view on all of the singers: Tarja did an incredible job on every single song she sang, Anette did fantastic with the albums she was in, but isn't very good at singing the songs sung by Tarja and Floor can sing every song Nightwish has ever made with proficiency.

Not Tarjas songs... Not Anette songs... Tuomas song! He is the mind, Nightwish is the body. Tarja was just a part of the body, nothing else.

ppl who dont like the song: GO and watch the videos of tarja, she left the band 7 years ago and you stil live in the past...anette isnt a lyrical singer, but still she's got a great voice, and in the beggining lyrical voices never were an important part of heavy metal. I dare to say this song is great with both singers. and talking about voices, NOT ALL voices are equal, in the world of women you can have soprano, mezzosoprano and alto. none is better, but different.

Gotta say, the guy singing is quite fucking good. It's rare for male powermetal vocals to not get too buttery (e.g. Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall), and this guys got some serious gruff to his vocals. reminds me in a way of Kai Hansen, Rob Halford and Hansi Kürsch. ahem, what im saying i guess is that they have such a talent in that male vocalist that having more focus on his vocals for a while wouldn't hurt. c:

not since i've heard this live with tarja...you know it sounds even more like like a deed world, a daark baath with exaggerated "classical" singing. that got me cold of the band after concert but i've seen them in LA this year..it was hell of a fun. besides it's one shot recording, like a live performance

Having listened to both Tarja and Anette's versions I'd have to say I like Tarja more.But Anette also has a lot of energy and on its own her version is just as awesome.

Anette does not have a pop singer's voice. Jeez people, ever heard of mezzo soprano??? Anette's voice blends well with rock songs.

I would if Nightwish would be only a male band. And I would add another guitarist along with Emppu, so to make the sound richer and heavier. That I would call 'apocalyptic Nightwish'!

I love all the singers but for this song I prefer Annette. She is so good here and smoking hot I must add. Her interviews are always so positive and witty.

Re-watching this I was wondering.... I think most people don't like her voice because it's a lighter voice than heavy metal listeners are used to. Tarja and Floor voices are darker than Anette's. And I THINK that it has to do with what the people us to say about "power" in her voice. I think that is a misconcept. Power has to do with volume and projection. I do agree that in the beginning, back in to 2008, sha had a lack of it. But if you compare 2008 tour with 2009's live shows you already see her growth. This video is, for me, very powerful. It's live (and she reproduced it other times perfectly) and she doesn't fail ONCE. She HAS power on her vocals, she just don't have the dark color in it. Which is something that the singers don't choose. You can actually sing more "deep" and "dark" in terms of where you put your voice, but here we are talking about voice color, which is a personal characteristic that we can't control. It's just there. So it's kind of unfair to judge this aspect. Reading comments I understand that most complaints come from this misconcept about "the right voice". After her growth as a singer, it's just about preferences at the end of the day (and, sometimes, just hate, unfortunately). And... Being fair... Everyone is a sucker for Floor, but I don't like most of the Imaginaerum songs with her. Even Ghost River that everyone likes... The songs are MEANT to be sung with a lighter voice than Floor's. But Floor has a lighter voice than Tarja, what, for me, sometimes, spoil SOME of the songs of Tarja's era. But I can't just criticize her performance because she sings beautifully... I wish people were more tolerant and understanding. World would be a better place.

Very good vocal approach from Anette in this clip, so good that anyone could think that this is the original album song. This song suits in Anette, as well. It is a nice alternative version instead of Tarja's original recorded version.
