Yes. they keep the London Philharmonic Orchestra on a yearly retainer. They appear on all the recent albums and in concert backtracks. Tuomas, the keyboardist, writes most of the music including keyboard audio drafts for the orchestra, but has a professional arranger he works with all the time write each orchestra members part on sheet music. They work together at Orchestra recordings. Every live version you hear keeps exactly the same time due to this backtrack.

The start of the song is Tuomas on keyboard (piano setting) and Troy on guitar using an Ebow to get the effect of a violin or viola. Nightwish work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Metro Choir to prerecord the backing track. The song is about the forming of Earth and evolution to and beyond man. Great reaction to the song. If you want to see the best crowd reaction then check out I Want My Tears Back from Buenos Aires 2019, You should also check out the version of this song from Tampere in Finland it will surprise you even more.

Hi there. Ok, so what instruments are being used? Other than piano and whatever sounds Tuomas chose to use on the synthesizer, and the guitar Troy is using with that piece that makes it sound like a violin, Pip Williams writes the orchestral parts for Nightwish and creates a backing track for their live shows using the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London's The Metro Voices, and Young Children's Choir. So if you heard an oboe, or strings, or a French horn or all together, chances are they were playing in the backing track provided by Pip Williams. Why is there a turtle? This song is Thomas' "short" version of the evolution of life, starting with the big bang and the creation of the universe. There were many visuals included in the performance that help to keep up with the era the song is reflecting. It also helps to know that the song is actually set in 5 parts? I believe? Richard Dawkins paused on Endless Forms Most Beautiful because that's the name of the album the tour is supporting. You looked like you really enjoyed that experience. Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤🤘🤘

The instruments at the start - obviously Tumoas's keys. And Troy is playing his guitar with a e-bow, a device that creates sustain like a cello. Tuomas has many instrument patches on his keys, and the horns come from there. The whole piece is based on evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins's book The Greatest How on Earth, which covers the story of the earth from its inception through to the higher life forms. It is one of the most important pieces of biological research of recent times. And yes, that is him at the end.

A part from what magic Tuomas holds under his keys.....This is symphonic metal with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The band plays to in-ear-monitor clicking which is synchronised with pre-recorded Symphony Orchestra, choir, spoken voices, sound effects, but also lights and pyrotechnics. The in-ear click is the secret why this band can be so tight.

Yes please react to Nightwish you have not seen. You can post parts of your past VODs here where you reacted if it can still be done, and post new ones after you record on stream. I'm sure many would watch :) Troy is using an E-Bow on his guitar to give it that cool effect. It is not feasible to travel on tour with an entire orchestra and choirs so they work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra & London City choirs to do backing tracks for many songs. You are hearing a lot of orchestral instruments yes lol. You should check out the Tampere version of this song too for some different production and its a bit more epic. :) That ending quote gave me a new appreciation for my life and I think of it whenever things suck lol. 🙃

6.4 billion years of the evolution of our solar system, the earth, and every living thing on our planet. Troy is use a magnetic device called an Ebow. It allows a guitarist to imitate the sound of a violin as well as other special effects. What you are hearing is the orchestra arrangement on the backing track. It is the Orchestre de Grandeur which includes French Horns as well as many other orchestra instruments and a full Choir. You said it SunflowerGeek. Tuomas is a poet and his lyrics are very deep level, full of imagery and metaphors.

The song is about the creation of the universe, beginning with a quiet, soothing nothingness... Then the big bang- celestial bodies forming, an inference to the promise to come with the cello. The orchestral rise represents the further collisions of stars and dying planets. Then everything dies back down.. and that's only at 2:39 . Then uncertainty follows, the idea of unknown purpose.... At 4:28 "us, sleeping" ...the song so far. The middle represents the struggle of first evolution, LUCA, The Last Universal Common Ancestor.. the origin of life as we know it today. Then the chemical writing of DNA through the process of mutation... The sudden rush of evolution that followed. Then the travel of our ancestors from Africa. Then the "hunger for shiny rocks" and "giant mushroom clouds" (minerals and atomic bombs). Then ends with our appreciation of the time we were given on this Earth and the nature that will undoubtedly outlive us.

No it is not about the actual universe or the big bang and stars forming, it is all about the Earth (and evolution on it). The first part is called _Four Point Six_ for a reason, it is the age of Earth in billions of years. The 'explosive' sounds probably refer to the early bombardment of Earth with comets and meteorites, bringing in water and other chemicals.

Collisions of stars? That's very unlikely even in crowded galactic centers. The fireworks at the start represent the early heavy bombardment, the period soon after the formation of the Solar System, when the major planets suffered constant asteroid bombardment, those asteroids being failed planets, etc. One of those being Thea, the Mars sized planet that hit proto Earth and resulted in the formation of the moon

This is one of the many "epic" songs of Nightwish! This song is from the "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album. The whole album is fabulous, as is everything else I have heard of theirs! As you guessed, the song starts off with the Big Bang...if you watch the live version at Tampere, it's at an outdoor venue, fireworks are a big part of the song in the beginning, and at the end! This is one of my favorite songs by Nightwish! The Nightwish Army is probably already aware of you and there is so much more to learn about Nightwish as you go deeper into their music! Thanks for the great reaction! Try "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" ....the Official Lyric video"...it's awesome!

my only real problem with this version is how much Dawkins changes the wording at the end. It breaks me out of my happy trance as it is not as poetic or interesting (too me) He looked super nervous so may have just forgotten what he was going to say. I also prefer the Tampere intro choices with Troy but now I am being uber picky :D

NO Nightwish song has ALL of the instruments at the concert. Symphonic sounds are recorded and added in via MIDI during concerts. In a typical studio recording there are around 500+ instrument and vocal tracks for every song. There are choir tracks also as part of that. All of that before mixing occurs.

Glad that you found the grandeur of their music, poetry, lyrics, performance and all that on stage plus visuals. Do more them...you can not pick a bad or even average one if you just take what ever they do (have done since 1996). Tuomas is a Metal Mozart, Keats and Shakespeare at the same time when writing material like this. Maybe you noticed that they go through history the whole evolution from the formation of material in space up to future what is going to be soon...and refer our brief time in the sun there. In the album version there is a long instrumental part in the end too...originally the song was to be 45 min long but had to be shortened even for the album.
