that's not even coherent. If it was a miracle to win, then why not consider Ding a future world champion as well ? I mean he's the one battling Nepo for the title as well. by the way, I'm a fan of Nihal so I don't say this to trash him, but your statement doesn't make sense

@@mudababy7896 When i said miracle , i just meant to say it was a huge and somewhat shocking result , considering Ding is number 2 , i expected him to be at least competitive but Nihal outclassed him. By so i admired the way Nihal is playing and expect him to be on the Top at some point in his career.

you forgot editing levy's quote somewhere in the middle, besides the literal start and ending of the video... there's a saying that roughly translates to "if you don't praise your house, it will fall down on you" my point is, Sarin's achievements are his own, not India's. Except if I'm missing that much from your culture

The thing is after British rule, a large population of India was left under poverished and fighting for survival. Though we are out of that, still mentally an average Indian still has to worry about a lot of basic things to keep his family running. In such a scenario, if any Indian achieves something at world level, alongwith being a matter of pride, it also gives a sense of confirmation that India is finally becoming developed enough that individuals can pursue world level dreams, and not be only worried about day to day problems.

Basically when a player loses due to the clock running out even though the player might want to continue playing there.

@@kentlofgren it is used as such you are right , flagging part is basically other player tries to make moves which aren't necessarily good but mostly to make sure you run out of clock if you are low on it.

When you look at old chess clocks which stil had a circle dial, they also had a little red flag on top of 12. It would go up as the long hand approaches 12 and then fall if the hand went over 12, so when you lose on time, your flag would literally fall. Now chess clocks are digital, but they still show an icon of a flag when you run out of time
