Poor guy. Pele jinxed him when he predicted that he will be the best player in the world.

It is a tragedy what happened to most of the Ghanian kids who won the under 17 world cup in 1991. African countries should have and still should impose a ban for young players under say 25 years to leave their countries, like Algeria did impose. Coping with life abroad as a younster, without your family, friends and community will have a negative impact on your development as a person and consequently on your football skills. When I learnt how these kids directly after their world cup success were bought for ridiculous sums of money to European clubs like Bayer 05 Leverkusen, i cried. I knew back then that they would not develope their full potentials. Most of the top African footballers played for some time in their countries and matured before going abroad as professionals. I think footballwise and money-wise it is the better thing to do. Basic education is very important and I think Nii's parents tried to force their son to acquire that. This is crucial whether you becaome a football professional or not. Sometimes young people should learn to listen.

The problem of Africa football is the Age!! When they are 14 years on the paper in reality they are 19/20 years , just watch what age they retire , always between 30/32 years. But if u watch European always between 35/42 year

Over here in Ghana, a lot of footballers don't like schooling or take school serious. The dream of playing outside and making money rules their life at an early stage. Most of them pay the price with unscrupulous managers who ruin their years of hardwork and toil.

Pele should have kept his mouth shut. None of his predictions over the years have been proven true. None whatsoever.
