In this 3rd and final part of the ‘Niigata Seasons’ series the viewer is immersed in the harvest season, perhaps the busiest, and most exciting of all. During the month of October, and through into November, literally thousands of Koi are harvested from the mudponds which have been their summer home.
Autumn is also a time when many visitors flock to the mountains to take part in the harvest season, as well as to purchase newly harvested stocks, either directly from the breeders or via the Niigata Breeders’ Auction which takes place every November.
In this first part of the serialisation we join Masaru and Hiromi Saito of Shintaro Koi Farm as they harvest some of the farm's nisai, and Isa Koi Farm as they harvest some simply stunning examples of the farm's Koi.
