Yeah. The crossing was also pretty long. Just imagine that 600 germans are firing upon you while you are crossing in a little boat. And everytime i visit a Cemetery its gives me that feeling of emptyness...

Aahh thanks man! Now you teached me something about it! I did a little research on this video, but most of the stuff i said was from my mind. @@SandervkHistory no problem man. I'm an avid student of ww2 and I lived in Nijmegen for a number of years, so I know a bit about the story of the crossing. What's also cool about that new bridge is that it's actually called "de oversteek" (the crossing) in honour of the 82nd's crossing. Like I said, there are 48 light posts on the bridge commemorating the 48 fallen men of the 82nd. Every evening a veteran walks the entire length of the bridge and the 48 lights turn on in sequence in honour of the sacrifice that was made there. It's called the sunset march. If you need some ideas for future videos I'd suggest you visit Ginkel Heath and Renkum heath. Those were the British DZ's and there are some interesting stories to be told there.
