Nike Air Monarch vs Balenciaga Triple S in the Dad Shoe Face-Off: Don't Believe The Hype

I had Nike Air Monarch in red/white/black colorway for a year and a week ago I bought one more pair in blue/white/black and they are best for this price in my opinion. They looks good and they are very comfortable :)

this is the reason why high fashion and street fashion are so on opposite sides of the spectrum you can hardly see similarities. street fashion has influenced high fashion in recent years ONLY in attempts to reach younger audiences. younger people buy street fashion wear because of the price point. Im sure my 13 year old self would have looked at the balenciagas and laughed my ass off. HOWEVER it is important to not that although both worlds sometimes take inspiration from one another HIGH FASHION is responsible for taking the trends from common street wear, glitzing it up on some quality ragu type of shit (Like you aint never had pasta sauce like this shit before and it looks better), then pushing the boundaries thus pushing the fashion for a specific style or trend ten fold. the after effects can be seen the following season with more street wear brands tryin to replicate what was on the runway or showroom floors of your guccis etc. and so the cycle continues. I think if you can honestly look at the air monarch and say its a cooler shoe than the triple s, or that you'd rather have the nikes to the balenciagas you've got to get your head checked for two reasons: 1. if you don't like them, take that triple s and resell them for that 800 and get you a whole closet full of monarchs you fashion backwards noodle head. lol AND 2. you think you gonna get any play or turning heads by wearing monarchs? lol nahhhh man. keep those mid 90's fast food and them park inspired shoes. ya'll need to ask people that have more of an open mind or at least follow fashion. lol

That Nike Air Monarch were/are popular kicks in prison. At least in the state of California. They were clean, affordable and looked cool. I myself had a pair but I also had the old school Reebok classics which I wore a lot more than the Nikes. Air Force 1’s were also available but for me, the price just wasn’t worth it considering the fact that there’s really no one to impress that much in prison.

Interesting, but not really a pragmatic review on how it feels, how long it lasts, is it a good walking shoe, etc... I'm only interested in it because it is one of the few sneakers that come in width 4E. I think a better comparison would have between the Monarch and the Nike Defy All Day, because they look almost identical, except more light weight.
