Got the AF1 2yrs ago for Ironman racing, now only doing sprints . Been running since 1984 and the AF1 is my daily shoe , to keep me injury free and to enjoy quality over quantity at age 66 .

Always appreciate the honesty. The arch is interesting as I’ve never had an issue with it except on my race day marathon! Makes me doubt the entire shoe. V2 may be just what I am looking for.

Have run a fair bit in Alphafly 1`s, bought 2`s a few weeks ago but so far I am not convinced that 2`s are better. Rather the other way around, 1`s never gave me any problems and feels more bouncy and faster. Ordered 3 pairs of 1`s today as 180£ is an absolute steal and I think the 1`s are better!

I'm seriously considering buying every last V1 I can get my hands on before they'll be gone forever. I'm sorry but the V2 are just not as fast. The air pods are useless under the extra foam and the drop should have stayed at 4mm - it was far easier to run in the front part only.

The pronounced arch in the alphafly v1 is what kept me using the Vaporfly v1/v2. Glad they fixed this issue.

Honest review as expected. As you can now get V1 at around £100 cheaper on many discounts I don't think these marginal changes justify the price difference. I wouldn't buy V2 unless its massively discounted

Thanks Chris - I had to return V1 after less than 10k due to insane pain from the arch. You've tempted me in to picking up the V2s from Nike to see if it'll be resolved for me. The generous Nike return policy means it's pretty low risk to give it a go

Game changer for me if the arch is really unnoticeable in V2 ❤. Because I like the Alphafly but couldn't wear it due to the protruding arch. I'm waiting for it to be released in my country now . Tq for the review

Thank you for your info on the arch of v2. It was painful for me to run in the v1. I had to mod it a bit. 1 reviwer said the arch on v2 is still uncomfortable. 3 reviewers said the arch in v2 is less uncomfortable...I do have hope now!!!

I was thinking about getting v1 for a steep downhill marathon because I'm thinking the lower drop will help hold a more comfortable less forced pace. I'm not so sure now though now since I've seen other reviews say it feels like a high drop shoe still. Recommendations appreciated ✨️

Man, I had completely the OPPOSITE experience with the arch. The arch in my v2 was quite a problem on the v2. Obviously more pronounced on my pair of v2. I ended up with some major blisters from v2 that I never got on v1.

Just bought the v1 at reduce price from the Nike site for only $159. Couldn't pass it up. Ran a killer 10k on my first run. Even with dead legs that day I was killing it. But the arch killed me later that day. Sucks, but I'm sending them back. The vaporflys are a perfect fit for my foot.

What are like size wise, do they still fit a narrow foot? I take a 9.5/10 in Nike depending on the shoes however I have slightly wider feet and have been told to go with the size 10s but that was regarding V1. How does V2 compare?

Yeah bad hayfever here. I missed the new launch of these, did not know these came out, maybe just me but not seen much on this. The new puma trainers seen pop up adds all over the place.

Is the increased heel/toe offset “easier” on the calves? The V1, especially at slower paces, sometimes felt like it was negative drop because the heel with all zoom x was softer than the forefoot with zoom pods. Took a few runs for my calves to get adjusted to them, definitely more so than the vaporflys where I had no problems.

I love hearing reviews saying that the arch has been improved. Always wanted to race in the V1s but had bad chaffing in my arch after 16-18mi. Gonna see if I can get a pair and hope that I can wear them

I have the Alphafly V1. I find the "negative drop" a problem. The back of is soft but the front is hard.. Killing my calfs. Do the front air pods get softer with time?

Version 1 is still my favourite race shoes for any distance by far. I’ll wait for a discount code and when more widely available to try the 2’s. Not tempted by the new ASICS I think the Alphafly 1 or 2 are still yet to be knocked off the top spot.

Personally I felt V1 wears better and runs better comparing to v2 which I bought recently. I felt that V1 have more “bounce” while v2 doesn’t. Nonetheless, I do agreed on the part that v2 is more structured, which is more durable I think? I do felt that V2 upper are a little bit narrower than V1 though.

I agree, V1 wears better, and you can feel that it's lighter. I bought another V1 when it went on special now, will rotate between 1 & 2.

I agree, I bought v2 and found it comfortable but definitely disappointed on the energy return. Found my calves getting more sore after a long run on v2 over v1. Bought a new v1 over eBay

Iv bought some alphafly next 2% the new ones for the London marathon, iv ran 2 13 mile runs in them, I don't feel like I'm getting anything from them, they have gave me blisters on my little toes as well. They feel very soft under foot almost like I'm running in mud. Could this be just because I'm running at a slow pace? Around 10min miles? So in not getting the forward spring from them? Feel like iv made a big mistake buying them. 😕

The outsole on v2 looks like an improvement in grip. I do prefer the aesthetic of v1. Don’t like how the heel of v1 protrudes.

It feels like a very fast trainer to the V1's, with V1's being the real race shoe. Probably will be a cancelled/ruined product line like the zoom fly series soon just so they can start marketing whatever they want to follow up the Alphafly with, Something like the Pompomfly or Lubeglide with Flawflow foam.
