A lot of RU-vidr seem to be really against Nikes racing shoes this year I personally agree with Nick that Nike have the best racing shoes , I haven’t tried the alphafly 3 obviously but the vaporfly 3 is the best racing shoe I own and alphafly 1 probably the best marathon shoe not to mention the vaporfly 2 is still up there Only racing shoe I’ve tried that is on a the same level as the Nikes would be the wave rebellion pro I’ve got the saconey elite and pro , the adddas pro 3 , the ASICS meta speed sky plus but non of them are anywhere near as good as Nikes offering in my opinion
Yeah, I'd agree with that. When it matters I always go to the AF1 for marathon race day. The VF3 is a close second, I hated the AF2 and gave them to my brother, they ripped my feet to shreds no matter what way I laced them up. I do enjoy running in the Saucony Pro3 too, closest non Nike rival in my arsenal.
100% agree. Every brand is still chasing Nike when it comes to racing shoes. Just ran my PR in the VP3 out at CIM. All previous marathons were in AF V1. Can't wait to get this new AF on my feet.

@@michaelb5432 I found going half size up in the alphafly 2 made it a lot better And putting it next to my alphafly 1 that was supposed to be half size down they where identical in size I’ve Not thad much experience in the alphafly 2 tho Love the v1
Always nice to watch a review on a shoe that you're going to love no matter what 😁 i ran my Alphafly V1 to shreds (720km) and I still use them occasionally for a 5 or 10k. So I'm happy to stick with the Alphaflys as a racing shoe ❤ Didn't Sifan Hasan win the London and Chicago Marathon in this prototype? Yes, she did! 🎉
Nice test! Good video. I'd love to get some but I have the Vaporfly 3 with only 150km in them so they seem too similar to justify it. Having said that... I know I'll probably get some! 🙂
Alphafly V1 felt like Negative Drop and I added a heel wedge of 8mm to feel like I am not falling backwards.. Love the drop of the Vaporfly V2 so I guess this will be great.
The Vaporfly 3 prototypes are compared to none. It is the lightest and most comfortable running shoe especially for heavy footed people like myself. I’m 217 muscular but these make me feel like I’m on cloud 9 haha.
It’s a popular opinion to hate on Nike re guys like Kofuzi and other influencers. At the end of the day you should run with what works for your foot regardless of brand. I’ve run my best races in the vaporfly 2 and 3. I absolutely HATED the Alphafly 2. IMO I think on race day despite not liking a version here and there of their shoes, they have the best race day offerings on the market. You don’t have to be a lover or a hater to realize that.
Is the sole narrow in the midfoot like the Vaporfly3? I love the fit of the Vaporfly 2's but tried a Vaporfly 3 yesterday and found uncomfortable pressure in the arch - like standing on a lump there (too narrow and/or too high arch). The Alphafly 2 wouldn't work for me for the same reason. Hopefully Nike keep making Vaporfly 2's until they change the shape of the sole of a new release - hoping the Alpha 3 may be that shoe.
Merry Christmas! I'd pair a good super-trainer with it myself, like the Endorphin Speed 3 or Adidas Boston 12, or a versatile cushioned shoe like the Puma Velocity Nitro 2.
Couldn’t wear the first two pairs there was a massive chunk of shoe digging into my arches with every step. Possibly most uncomfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. Wonder if that’s been fixed
I think the Vaporfly 3 is brilliant for all distances too. I think some other reviewers have much preferred the Alpahfly 3 though. I'll do a full comparison video soon, planning to do a session using both shoes next week
Hey. No definitely not. The zoomx outsole isn't very durable and doesn't have a long life expectancy, doubt it would last long on gravel. It's also not very stable so may be quite risky to use on uneven surfaces.
Have you experienced (or know any of this) holes forming at the big toe area? The material looks to be quite thin and breathable, which is good of course, but with my current daily trainers I've started to notice holes appearing at the big toe 😂 Am I just a noob at running, is it maybe a sizing issue or because the fabric is too thin around the toe?
@@Ous_Sama For non-elites, how much time will you actually save for the weight? A minute, 2 minutes? For $500 and only 1 marathon, I still would opt for AF 3. Especially since no regular runners can have. Adidas only giving to influencers and elites.
@@jimoconnor8597 ordinary people could do well with any lightweight plated and cushioned shoe , the training is what matters , not owning an AF3 for 285$ to run 3 or 4 marathons in it.
It is a very ugly shoe, very expensive, not available yet, and it is relatively heavy compared to others regarding Kiptum's record, remember that he ran 2'01 with vaporfly 2
I used to be a competitive long distance runner in the 80's and early 90's. Personally i think runners today are more shoe than runner. Average runners breaking old records with technology. I call it cheating. What's next from Nike? Springs on shoes?
I will no longer be buying ANY Nike because of how they market products like this, is all about making money and treating us like disrespected cash generators.
@@GTE_Channel The best of the best runners from the past with non-plated shoes from 15-20 years ago would be competing for 6th-10th place right now at world majors. That's how much of an advantage having a modern plated racing shoe is.

Who is looking for a shortcut? Just looking to deliver on 26.2 race day after a 16 week tough training block. If you put in the work, shoes are just part of the day like nutrition, hydration, race plan. Or do you skip nutrition since it helps run faster?
