I run about 10K on this wet pavement it had pretty good grip, surprising really than my trail shoe Rockadia. I have toe nail issue that's why I go for half size bigger. It was great but I can't tell if it would be good more than 10K.
Anyone know of a casual shoe that fits like a Downshifter 11? I love the feel of them on my feet but they look like dad shoes and don’t pair well with jeans for casual running around.
Both of those are decent shoes, but they are not the most flexible. Out of the 2, I have to go with the Revolution 6 because the fit and shape feel a lot more comfortable than the Downshifter 11. The Downshifter 11 had a very stiff midsole and the fit wasn't the best, especially at the midfoot. Hope that helps!
Unfortunately, I tried the Regular version only because that's all they had here in Nike Mexico. My assumption is that the main difference will be felt at the midfoot, but I wouldn't be able to predict a specific measurement. Hope that helps!
Zoom Span 4! I think they are great for those types of distances and they provide an overall better fit and stability than the Downshifter 11. Hope that helps!
Just a tip for that extra space in the front area. Try standing up to distribute all your weight on the foot. This way i find it correct to check the length of the shoe. Also, i just bought those shoes and they are really true to size.
Nike downshifter 4 are the best shoes for runing. I have them from 2013 and stil i run in them. They are amazing. They have very litlle sings of use after 11 years. Its to bad beacuse they not made in any more. 250 dolars is not much for that kind of shoes
I purchased revolution 4 of uk 10 size and the length was ok but width was not sufficient as i have a wider foot. So, i am planning to get a down shifter 11 but i am confused whether to buy extra wide one or regular one. My normal size is uk 10. Can you help me with that??
I would recommend you go with the Extra Wide option. I thought they were great, but they definitely felt narrow, specially at the midfoot, since I have wider feet too. I unfortunately haven't tried this Extra Wide option, so I couldn't tell you how much wider and comfortable it feels. Hope that helps!
Bro, Downshifter 11 or revolution 6 or Pegasus 38? Price is not a concern ,just breathability and comfortness+ weight too. Your opinion will be much helpful
Pegasus 38 all day! The other 2 are great for different things, although I wasn't a big fan of Downshifter 11, but the Pegasus 38 is another level of comfort and reliability. You can use them for training or running, and they will get the job done. Hope that helps!
I would say they have decent weight, the foam is standard but it doesn't add too much to that weight. They are great for the gym if they don't run large. Unfortunately, I can't say for cycling because I wasn't able to try them with that purpose. Hope that helps!
@PMB Shoes Among downshifter 11, Run swift 2 and quest 4 what's a better choice, can you please suggest?? Considering cushion and size (fit) as the comparing factors As I saw in your review, you mentioned that the shoe runs a size large.
I haven’t had a chance to try the Run Swift 2 just yet, but I can make recommendations between the Quest 4 and Downshifter 11. The cushioning on both is quite similar, pretty solid and stable, but not a lot of energy return. The Downshifter 11 has a “slimmer” fit and design, but I did find it to run slightly large, specially at the front. Also, because of the slimmer fit, it wasn’t the best for me since I have wider feet. I believe that if I were to get it half-a-size down and the Extra Wide option, it would be a very decent shoe. The Quest 4 feels like it has slightly more room throughout, but it’s a bit narrow at the toe box. The sizing was better, so going true-to-size should be fine. You can go half-size up if you want it to feel more roomy, though. Again, the midsole felt pretty similar, perhaps slightly more cushioned on the Quest. I do prefer the mesh on the Downshifter, however, since it felt slightly more durable. Out of the 2, I’d personally go with the Quest 4 because of the bit more cushioning and slightly roomier fit. Hope that helps!
I think they can get the job done! The midsole is a bit more stiff, which is something that I wasn't a big fan of for HIIT workouts, but they can definitely work for more standard gym workouts. I wouldn't recommend them for heavy weightlifting, though. Hope that helps!
It depends on what you're looking for. I prefer the Revolution 6 because of the softer midsole and more flexible upper. This Downshifter 11 has better support at the midfoot with a firmer foam at the midsole, which also isn't terrible. Sizing was my biggest issue with both of them since both of them are quite narrow for my wider feet. I would personally go with the Extra Wide sizing options for both and if you want them to feel a bit more roomy, I'd recommend doing the same. If I had to choose between the 2, I'd choose the Revolution 6 as an overall better shoe. Hope that helps!
I would go for the 11 since it is newer and it has slightly better set of features! Only thing to keep in mind is that the 11 has a slightly more narrow fit than the 10 because of the supports on the midfoot. Hope that helps!
Both are decent, but I prefer the overall fit and comfort that the Quest 4 provides a little better. The midsole seems to be a little more cushioned and the shoe just wraps around your foot a lot nicer which is quite convenient for performance. The Downshifter 11 fit me a little large and it felt a bit too narrow at the midfoot, so that doesn't help its case. Hope that helps!
I would say so, they are not my favorite but they can get the job done. They are a bit narrow at the midfoot and these were a bit long for me, so my experience wasn’t the best. I would recommend trying them first, if possible. Hope that helps!
Great question! I would personally choose the Winflo 8 thanks to the better quality foam and Air Zoom units. They will make the walk a little more comfortable and feel a little smoother compared to the other 2. If you want to keep it within a lower budget, the Revolution 6 would be my choice. I've been wearing them a lot for casual wear and they get the job done, but they are not my favorite for performance. Hope that helps!
Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to try the Contend 7. Just by looking at pictures and reviews, it seems like the Contend 7 has a bit softer foam, roomier toe box and a slightly more flexible and stretchy upper material. The Downshifter 11 is pretty great for the price as well, but I definitely experienced a more narrow fit and the foam wasn't the softest. Hope that helps!
Depends what you want to use them for, but I would go for the Revolution 6 if I only had to choose one. The overall shape and fit for the Revolution 6 has been more pleasant than the one for the Downshifter 11. Hope that helps!
@@PMBShoes Thanks for the answer! I've beeen using a Downshifter 7 for over 4 years and now wanna have something. I somehow find the Revolution 6 a bit more appealing, so your answer just helped me decide! :)
For the Quest, I found them to be decent with your regular size, but if you want a fit that's a bit more loose, go half-size up. For the Downshifter, I struggled with the extra length and how narrow they felt. I would personally go for half-size down and the Extra Wide option. These opinions are based on how they fit me, so if you have a chance, I'd recommend you try them on before buying them. Hope that helps!
You can, but I would suggest something slightly more cushioned and responsive. The midsole on these is decent, but it doesn’t provide a lot of impact reduction or energy return. I would probably recommend looking at something like the Renew Run 2/3, Winflo 8/9 or even Pegasus 38/39. Any of those 6 options should provide a better experience for the race. Hope that helps!
I prefer the Winflo over the Downshifter for running! It has a better foam at the midsole and Air Zoom units that help a lot to provide a better running experience. Hope that helps!
It depends on the running experience you're looking for! The Downshifter 11 provides more security at the midfoot thanks to the cable system that it uses to secure this area of the shoe. The foam also feels slightly more structured which gives you plenty of stability. The Revolution 6 is less secure at the midfoot, so it has an overall more relaxed fit. The midsole provides a decent experience, but it's not the most cushioned or stable. The heel drop is also a little more noticeable when wearing the Revolution 6, so it feels like your ankle is slightly elevated versus the front of the shoe. If I were to choose one, I'd probably go with the Downshifter 11, but try it on first if you have the opportunity to do so. Hope that helps!
Depends a lot on wheat you're looking for. I prefer the Renew Run 2 for running because of the slightly softer foam and the shape of the shoe. It also felt a bit more comfortable because of the padding that comes with it. The Downshifter 11 provides a very secure fit at the midfoot and it feels closer to the ground. The foam on this shoe is a bit more stiff, however. Hope that helps!
