I prefer the Pegasus 36 for RUNNING only. I like how it hugs the foot, and mine aren’t wide, so I don’t need extra room. The 38s are COMFY, I could see them being really good for hiking
Man, Pegasus line has changed so much... I still have my 34's around, and those were very unpadded with a relatively stiff sole. Decent for a midfoot/forefoot run too.. Now the Peg has turned into a mad thick cushioned foam box, definitely not the lightweight reactive trainer it used to be.
Thanks I just ordered a pair. I could not run in 37 as they fit too loose on me so since the 36th but the invincible was too soft for me All I want a soft feel with great lockdown so hope it’s not sinking too much compare to that invincible. I had plenty of fast firm shoes so this I hope will work for easy long runs
I haven’t run in the Peg since the 35 and sounds like it’s gone in the wrong direction in terms of fit, weight and ride. Reebok, puma, etc all offering great alternatives at around £100 or less.
It’s moved more towards an easy shoe I’d say, maybe a bit more mass appeal perhaps, since everyone is making these high stack cushy shoes! I (Nick) still like jt, but the Puma is excellent at a slightly lower price, and I also rate the Brooks Launch at £100
Any recommendations regarding sizing compared to the Adidas Ultraboost 20? Reagrding a lot of reviews the Pegasus 38 really seem to be a good running shoe for me, but I really don’t know what my Nike sizing would be… 🤔
Pillow feel is a big no for me. That's just good as walking casual shoes more rather than a strong marathon shoe. I need the lasting milage. I mean not just for casual runs from the house to the store. Bet this shoe goes well for running errands.
How did you go? I don’t have a wide foot by any means but fitting into these have been a challenge and they feel too tight. Definitely a different size to what I was used to with ASICS
(Kieran here) Ha ha, it's a fine point Pedro. As I was recording this I had the same thought. Truth is I'm not the biggest fan of a lot of the move to super soft foams that try to make it feel like you're 'running on clouds/marshmallows/pillows'. I'm definitely more into firmer shoes. I didn't dislike the Peg 38 in a strong way. I'd happy plod out casual miles in them chatting to a friend. So then what do I like? I like the UA Velociti Wind, Hoka Rincon, On Cloud X, Nike Peg Turbo, Adidas Boston Boost. I actually quite like the Puma Deviate Nitro for the miles before they cut me. I prefer the NB 1080 V10 to the Peg 38 as well I think. Good for a plod, peppier at pace.
Nike is more capable than that shoe. Nike's design team has been coming out with ugly shoe designs. I didn't need to see the review to already see that the shoe runs hot. Nike is more capable than this, very disappointed, won't be buying them even if they are on sale. The competitors of Nike have more exciting shoes and options at this moment. I know your team tried so hard to sell this shoe. But I could tell the pain this shoe brought on all of you. Thank you for your efforts and calories just wasted.
