Nike ZoomX Zegama Trail Shoe Review. The First Max Cushion Nike Trail Shoe! 

First, I gotta shout out this channel. it's my go to for trail shoe content. Supremely helpful in finding shoes that work. That said I'm left so confused after this because both of you said the fit was tight/snug yet i've spent the past month trying on every conceivable trail shoe I can to find something that doesn't make my toes go numb AND provides ample midfoot space (Altra/Topo don't do this well) and for some reason this shoe fits the absolute best (albeit half sized up). Is there a metric I'm missing when considering trail shoes? By the numbers I should potentially fit into things like the Ultraglide wide (maybe speedcross) and other wider shoes but none of them ever seem to fit.

The toebox height discussion reminds me of the Wildhorse 4 vs the WH5: The 4 had noticeably more toebox height (as well as the midfoot wrap) but the 5 ditched the wrap (a shame) as well as decreasing the toebox height, giving it more of a minimal feel, especially as they'd made no effort in midsole compound improvement. The 5 was a fast shoe for me though, partly because that low toebox gave more feedback on foot position, and of course the wonderful heel airpod for hard heelstrikes. I do have the WH6, and hated it for some time for heel instability. Eventually I learned to remove the insole and pay close attention to locking down the heel while lacing; I'm very pleased with the forefoot room, and the React foam is fine for the trail, if they rework the outsole for more stability.

If Finn finds this shoe narrow in the toebox what shoe with a low drop has a wider toe box than this aside from Topos and Altras? I don't see the Motafe being wider just better then the Speedgoat, maybe I'm wrong. I wish he had given examples of something that works better in terms of space. I'm actually considering this shoe precisely because it looks like it doesn't squish the toes nearly as much as something like the Speedgoat. Keep up the good work, there's no trail shoe channels like this, I'm surprised you don't have a lot more subs.

Love the reviews, thank you! Touching on one of you’re last point regarding the upper outlasting the midsole… Yes, the midsole really broke down for around 300km but the upper tore up at 250km doing a mountainous race. Fun shoe but longevity was not, for me, adequate.

Well, probably neither for me because I like a little bit lower stack and I don’t like really a super soft thing but I was I got that sample the S lab Genesis on like a gear day exhibit or something and allowed me to take it out for about 4 miles on a trail and if I was looking for shoe with more stack and more comfort, that would be the shoe it was pretty technical though I thought

It would be awesome to see a review of the Craft Nord Lite after it’s released in February. Another non plated super foam trail option

I bet lot of consumers think it’s a fast shoe yet never find about the race to the degree that they decide definitively that it’s not the ideal shoe

j aimes tellement cette chaussure , le col rembourré derriere et autour du tendon d achille est pour moi ce qui se fait de mieux toutes marque confondue , comme dans la TK 7 et 8 , le laçage est super efficace et il joue grandement sur le ressenti que l on a de la chaussure au niveau de la stabilitée , qui est ducoup avec un laçage adapté , extraordinaire , la place a l avant pied , et bien comme dans les TK 8 , tres spacieux , , l amorti tres tres efficace; comme le dynamisme , la plaque de protection malgré l epaisseur de mousse important est tres bien pensé , la chaussure passe tres bien sur la route , sans aucuns soucis ; la mousse qui entoure le pavé de mousse zoom X est tres protectrice et durable , l ensemble ne s affaisse pas dutout comme d autres model de marque concurente , honnetement il n y a qu une chose qui , comme toutes les nike fait tache , c est l accroche sur roche humide , et c est vraiment le seul point negatif de cette chaussure pour moi , mais je l aime tellement que je suis pret a leur faire poser une semelle vibram .......et esperer qu ils sortent sur la Zegama 2 , le meme composé de semelle que sur les Wildhorse 8 qui est exeptionnel au niveau de l accroche et sur absolument toutes les surfaces .
