Writing wise and artistically Nikke is a real gem but the technical issues and monetization are definitely holding it back. Will be sticking around for as long as I can because the story and character writing really is good enough to hold this game up.
Imagine calling the game dead this early on lol. It's only been 3 months this game has been out. Usually games die after a year but not sooner. Looking at you Tower of Fantasy. Genshin is also dying down cause there latest content had been weak and there already running out of ideas for characters since the last few have been carbon copies or older ones but with a different element.
Writing wise, it is quite enjoyable but not a gem yet. I do spot on plothole and localization team wierd direction of flip flopping to adress commander as either he or them while promotional pic and jp script adressing commander as male. Lastly cp spike did kill the story pacing which unfortunate since the story pacing momentum is good.

Just everything with Anne makes me hurt inside, she says things that make me want to hug her but then knowing she would forget it all the next day kills me, then the Christmas event hits like a truck and the bond story for Christmas Anne also hit me like a truck
Marian was the beginning , xmas event Anne was a hit into the guts hard then Modernia promise she would wear her underwear inside cloth its like ripping my ribs out for her and cry into the corner... i HOPE bad thing doesnt happen to Rapi...
Like the old saying. came for the waifus, stayed for the plot. Generally my three rules for gacha is music, story, and gameplay. If two out of three is in a game im definitely going to play it. I played Nikke, is a fun side gacha and most of the part, this game is a perfect side game to have and also there is enough content if you willing to read. That aside stay F2P, I really don't want to eat ramen for a month ^^
I remember when the dev team created a fb page back in the day, and they used to get only "haha" reactions on their posts and mostly negative comments about "scam" or "this game never gonna be playable" Is really great to see that a lot of people do like the game✨
Even if NIKKE eventually flops over. I genuinely still enjoy the game as F2P, having to deal with the idle portion is my only setback, I would love some kind of replayability in like EX missions - make them endlessly scale like tower as another way for rewards. Or even make a better use of the stamina in the outpost for the RP scenes with the NIKKE for gifts, I wouldn’t mind using 1 stamina for an extra daily clear of interception.

If you guys wanted to literally create Waifu with whatever your preference is PSO2:NGS is the way, you can create your own Nikke with big guns, sword or whatever weapon you fancy or you can create albedo, 2B, Sahsa Braus, Zero two, Mikasa Ackerman or even Denji and power in the game. The game kinda action rpg like, in term of equipment there is little difference between free player or whale, only appearance.
You've more or less summed up exactly what I think and how I feel regarding Nikke. Out of all the games that I've played this year, this is the one that honestly surprised me the most in so many different ways. The highlights for me with Nikke are definitely the OST, and a story that I would daresay is peak fiction. It has its flaws, but it also has things that I think other gacha games should be taking notes on as well.
Honestly, out of all the gachas I've played, it'd only be second to Arknights (both in terms of music and lore/story. Gameplay is not even comparable though of course)
I laughed when Nikke first came out because of the over-the-top commercials and jiggle physics. Now I'm so into the story and characters but I can't convince anyone that it's the reason I'm playing. I feel like that old meme of "I read Playboy for the articles." (Oh, and Pepper is precious and must be protected, along with Rapi and Scarlet!)
The stated changes coming in the next patch include their changing the recommended power for chapters 13-18 so I will finally be able to progress again.

Good to see this video coming out after so much research and time put into the game. Hopefully it helps people look past the first impression of "Cheesecake Factory: The Game" that NIKKE has and it helps to grow the community. Tho if people get into the game for the cake i wont judge them either xD. Truly a game that has both "plot" and plot xD. Also cant wait for the "FGO in a nutshell" video in 2025
I'd rather people don't look past that first impression. We don't need people who are gonna ask for even more censorship or male nikkes. If you can't handle both types of plot it's just not for you.
Its an idle game you play on the side. No need to rush the content. Enjoying the story a lot. I'm about to hit the 160 wall (need dupes to continue), but I'll continue to enjoy the events.
Total banger of an OST, writing thats good enough that makes me give emotionally attached to a .PNG...and characters I wanna bang. Rapi wasnt liying, Diesel is female perfection being represented visually.
The rates are okay(even tho it balances out when you barely get gems anymore)... until they aren't. And then I wish we had a pity system. And good lord I'm over 1k pulls and only have Rapunzel and Noah for Pilgrim tower. Nikke PLEASE. I know I'm getting Modernia, but my Pilgrim drought is feels bad. I'm not one to get overly excited about lucky pulls, but I might scream by the time I see Harran and Scarlet, IF they don't get powercrept. That all aside, good game, good story, good characters. But yeah story difficulty starts jumping up by 5-8k and I can't move again for a WHILE.

Just tell them it's a pron game. If they don't judge you for it, then that's cool. If they do, then it seems you need to find better friends to hang out with. If they end up playing it too, then you got friends for life.
Story is simple and engaging enough to keep me interested, but what's cool to me it's every character's bond story has like a very deep dive into their character, and some even the past of said character

Truly cultured review of Nikke, great game to play for Padoru padoru xD Nikke is such a cool game, shame the bugs and monetization (sometimes shooting mechanics too) are just horrible. Hope they fix them bit by bit
Christmas event writing is absolutely top tier, literally the first time a shed a tear in a gacha game's story, and the first time since like 4 years ago on a fictional story.
One thing I hate about the game is farming the simulation it’s annoying if they added an ability to just auto without actually having to keep picking perks and picking which one you want to do next. Also my game keeps crashing when I recruit
The prospect of picking up another never ending gacha game is daunting. Time being the biggest factor even bigger the than the financial aspect. Especially since both story and fanservice match so well better than most gacha games.
Love this game. The story and lore are what has kept me around. It's the main reason I am so desperate to take down the Dragon Mommy, she clearly knows some things and I want to know more about the commander's past.

Still don’t understand why people complain about the monetization. Played for like 3 months, have over half the SSR including all of them introduced in events (other than the one that isn’t Power from Chainsaw Man), synchro’d at 160, a bunch of said SSR are 2 starred, and I’m just working on leveling all my others and doing simulation room to level up their skills. There’s literally no reason to put money into this game unless you’re desperate for a skin or to get rid of the first time charge gems banner. There are a LOT of gacha games that are WAY worse in terms of monetization, and they don’t even have the art, VA, OST, and story to back it up.
Ye Nikke is pretty good, compared to a lot of gachas I played, my only problem is that unions are still useless after 2 months and there are some big bugs that are not getting fixed. But I've been enjoying it, getting close to the 160 wall tho
Started on day 1 and iam loving it for the plot, but the power scaling between levels are somewhat ridículous, I have like 32k on a 29k level and loose for a single enemy That just wont die even in full burst
