Landin has the ability to step up above everyone else when it really matters.. It is not just skill, some internal flame gets lit and his appearance scare the opponent.

The best quality of Landin is, that the better the opponent becomes, the exponentially better his performance gets. And if you manage to piss him off, then multiply this effect by double. Landin has more consistent match winning saves than any other keeper in history, the pinnacle of performance. No other keeper can measure up to him when he's in the zone (which he consistently is)

I feel like de Vargas can compete in moments but Landin is just more consistent and relieble and therfore the better keeper.

This. Vargas is amazing but great shooters will still take him on. Landin on the other hand has the ability to suck out the morale of even the best shooters, practically taking over the match entirely -almost as a force of nature. It's amazing to witness, and his consistency means we get to witness this frequently.

The calm of Landin and the timing to react after ball is thrown is unbelievable, I don't see any other goalkeeper doing that so consistently as Landin.
