The way I see it is that he's looking for hus 4th. An MVP is an MVP reg season or finals. & 🃏 got 3½ as I type. He'll have 5 by mid June. Then Jokic will disappear the ½ that's hating. ⛏🏀🏆✌
Best description of Jokic i heard was that he doesn't play opposing team but a opposing coach, cause no player can stop him only good tactic and that's not fond yet.
@@bihapi I'm pretty sure people are saying "Swedes"... :D If we're talking more than just nations, come visit Graz. Small town with a huge university. The amount of young women is... nice. :)
Everyone says that Jokic elevates players to be better than they are. I think that while he does that a lot of players on the squad have elevated their play as well.
@@JasonAtlasof course. It goes both ways. Also, if you are not helping Jokic, you’ll probably not get your minutes. So you have no choice but to help Jokic do what he does the best.
@@berryesseenand if u helped jokic, ur stats and play become better and better given how unselfish he is so u will get the ball to score no matter whaf
Jokic's only weaknesses are lateral quickness and verticality (partly offset by his height). Everything else is damn impressive. His coordination and body control would be impressive for anyone, let alone a guy his size. He's very strong. His endurance went from a weakness to a strength. His shooting touch is out of this world. Oh, and his unselfishness combined with some of the best court vision and basketball I.Q. makes him an all time great passer and play maker. Seriously, his lateral quickness is his biggest weakness and that only comes into play on defense. He compensates by using that hand eye coordination and basketball foresight, thus making his defense a net positive. It also helps that his team has been getting better and better at playing team defense that diminishes individual weaknesses and multiplies individual strengths. I haven't enjoyed watching the NBA this much since Jordan.
He has learned to navigate his short-commings defensively, and he is just as clever in his positioning on that end as he is on offense. Jokic is a significantly + defender at this stage of his career, and it's easily the most underrated aspect of his game.
America has word meaning delusion.....athletic is by definition extrinsic to performance ability...however, too many believe it to be primarily linked to aesthetic (player is chizzled - ripped - lean etc).....Joker is Diesel.....
A master at the game. Loved that little push off of Lebron for the easy bucket. Stockton was also a master. I love it when an 'unathletic' guy schools the faster and stronger.
The most thug life moment is when he ran the slowest to dunk and looked Lebron in the eye like "You're gonna block me or what?" Then Lebron folded. That's some gangster shieet
I think he also looked back because he had a teammate following & optioned to potentially give it to him, which also slowed Bron down. I could be wrong.
I remember back when jokic couldn’t finish a playoff game because he was so gassed by the third quarter. Now he’s outrunning Lebron in the 4th quarter- so inspirational
I used to call him Mr. 65 because of that legendary performance. Don’t blindly follow the negative myths that NBA/ESPN puppets put on white players to discredit them.
He is a top 15 all time already. When his career ends, he will be a top 5 for sure, possibly a top 2. If he wins 5-6 rings with Nuggets, who is the basketball goat will become an endless argument between Jokic and MJ
This is the difference between being a great basketball player and a great athlete ,just because you can run and jump out of the Gym does not mean you know how to play basketball .
Athleticism comes in different ways for different people. Jokic has stamina to push it all the way to end of 4th quarter and beyond at elite level of efficiency.
Jordan's Bulls won their last title in 1998, Duncan's Spurs their first the year after. Duncan's Spurs won their last title in 2014, Curry's Warriors their first the year after. I wouldn't be surprised if Jokic's Nuggets will be the next great dynasty, when the last three have been passing the torch so cleanly.
@@mikesweet5848 I think Jokic should have won as well. But regardless you have to put your hurt feelings away because he didn’t win. You can’t give him an mvp that he dosent have. If you disagree your the casual
Yeah it’s painfully apparent Lakers woulda been blown out by 25 if the officiating was fair. Silver should focus on officiating rather than “egregious “ offenders like Jontay Porter.
Years from now people will compare Jokic's prime to everybody else's prime to see who the GOAT is. These are the years they will look at. And judging from what I see he will be the GOAT because these last two years are better than any other player's two years.
@@6manYT It's super frustrating when seven feet, 260 pound players rather try to sell the contact then get the ball. But apparently this is modern basketball.
KD would have to take a vet minimum salary, otherwise they couldn’t afford him. They’re already up against the cap with MPJ’s bloated salary, so I’m not sure how they upgrade & resign KCP without trading Mike.
Had he played in the 1960s or 1980s people would say he was a plumber that would never be able to succeed in today's NBA. It is impressive how much more athletic Bill Russel, Wilt and other legends of the game were than Jokic and yet Jokic is still top 20 player all time.
Excellent video, I have to watch more of these! A couple points-someone already offered a correction on the dunks, & to be picayune, Joker is 6'11". Also it was perhaps sly understatement to say he is not the fastest, best jumper...Out of over 1000 players tested in the NBA combine, Jokic STILL has the record of 17"... For the lowest vertical jump (standing position) ever! 😏 You likely are familiar with them, but all advanced stats show Nikola has been the best player in the world...each of the last 4 years. Without getting untoward fouls called or not called in his favor, unlike some stars...
6'11 info is outdated...it was given as an info 4 NBA draft, when Nikola was like 18 or smth and it was not updated since ( in Europe players hight is mesured barefoot and also he has grown some more since then) ...couple of NBA centers who played vs Nikola respond on 6'11 info that is not correct and that he is 7'1 mby even 7'2. P.S. Excellent video, as always. Cheers!
@@radomiropacic2092 Thanks! Height is only correct IF it is barefoot or in socks without the head tilted up. But I am unsure if he is taller than 6'11". Only some males grow after 18, he may have, but looking at him compared to others he does not appear taller than that. Please show me any quotes about those who say he is taller, but consider this...The vast majority of inaccuracies are exaggerations, for P.R. &/or in footwear...So some guys listed at 7'1" are *not*: but he looks clearly shorter than all listed at that height anyway!
Joker and gianis can go down as the top 10-15 players when they retire. I think if jokic keeps on doing what he does, he will have a better legacy than labron
What I like about the Nuggets and appreciate is that they incorporate real fundamental basketball. This team has everything to win everything and while the rest of the world and social media, they focus on LeBron and his team. If the Nuggets win it all again, Jokic and his team will be the executer to ending LeBron imo. In this game, this is the most effort that I've seen LeBron give in a while, but it wasn't enough. You can have difficulties and still win, but winning does it without running away from and without any excuses.
Another thing to love about Jokic, in the playoffs; his numbers do go up. Not because he becomes more ball dominant or shoots more shots, because he just becomes more efficient
I really feel they did him dirty with last years MVP in terms of legacy. 4 MVPs in a row would be historic and put him in goat conversations when it’s all said and done.
In todays league you have to guard the 3 point line a lot and this opens up the paint .unlike the 80s and 90s when all players had to do was stack up in the paint and not worry about the 3 point at all .oldheads like you who claim nba doesn'tplay defense rn are insane @@ziginaigra
@@ziginaigraIt’s not so much about no defense, but I think it’s a combination of better offense and rules that cater more to the offense which in turn makes it more difficult to play defense. There’s still some defense there although not nearly as prominent as it used to be.
That last push off lebron is so impressive to me as a non basketball player. He recognized he had had the momentum and lebron was too casual in running back, slight nudge and he’s gone.
Its crazy to think Jokic might get the same amount of MVPs(3) and Finals MVPs(2) as Larry Bird, and Jokic has never played with another All Star. Bird also had all offensive team and all defensive team costars, in his first finals his teammate won Finals MVP. Also crazy, Braun and Watson are getting better every game. They didnt score much, but I never expected to see Watson alone outscoring the Lakers bench 8-0 at one point with 2 made 3s. If Watson and Braun develop offensive games, Nuggets will win many more titles before the end of the decade.
SAS once famously said, Jokic doesn't have a postup game! I couldn't believe that he said that, I thought that he was kidding, but when called to explain, he went all seriously 😳
changing pivot, dragging, and 3/4 stepping all over the place his play style is modern 3 ball aware but his shots and fooling defenders is very similar to how Larry Bird played. behind the head shooting is very effective for tall guys like those two
whan there is rly no one in nba who can slow him down..i dont think he would doing that vs someone like wilt, russel, hakeem, mutumbo, wallace, camby, robinson, dwight, mourning, ewing or even some pf kg,rodman and td..even old saboins was good
Kids, today: "It's the most athletic era EVER!!" Them, also: "Jokic is the best player of our times!" 😂 ...hint: only ONE of that two statements is true.
