Well isn’t Nikolai the only one who’s had proper development on the backstory of his family? He’s a father who’s lost his child who now has to move on and travel on a path of eternal uncertainty but the one fact he knows that remains true along his journey, he can only be reunited with his family through one way.

It's entirely possible that Jason just resonates with the themes in Nikolai's character more than the others. But either way he'll definitely be important in Blood of the Dead

Bo3 placed the seeds for Nikolai's distrust for richtofen and his seemingly trust in monty. Interesting that Monty and Nikolai are both a like in the way they view Richtofen. What this makes me think is that if there ever comes a situation where Richtofen goes against Monty's goals Nikolai would be the one siding with Monty. What this could turn into is a good character arc where Nikolai sides with Monty but eventually realizes that he was wrong and that richotfen was right and finally begins to trust in Richtofen. One thing that could cause Nikolai going against Monty is if maybe Monty doesn't really care about the children. In the revelations music video Monty looks very uninterested in them. Maybe it was just a goal to get primis to do the right thing.

the beginning of the botd confirms nikolais mistrust against richtofen how he says: was stumbling in the dark part of your plan, sounds really angry. Feel like if nikolai gets another option (maybe trough the shadowman who could be still alive or monty) he turns against richtofen. btw with the ultimus nikolai still alive he is safe from getting wiped out of existence compared to the other characters

I feel like Ultimus had another side too. It was veiled in humor but they bonded in their own way too. If only we had cutscenes back then... i hope Classified gives us a much deeper look at Ultimus. They are still the only crew i truly love and want to see end their story differently, and break the cycle. Which in theory would fix everything else!

when you have to fight the weasel, brutus takes control of the zombies and helps the weasel to break the cycle which is why its the Weasel, Brutus, and the Zombies vs Sal, Finn, and Billy

Safe to say Austin called Richtofen dying/sacrificing himself. Tbh I'm glad they changed the focus character from Richtofen to Nikolai as he was always the focus and nobody really had a chance to show character potential

As more time passes the more I realize how beautifully crafted this story has been over the years. Excellent video Reed, it literally brought me to tears a little lol. I just love this game and its community so much.

This is actually quite an interesting point to bring up. However, I feel that Nikolai has suffered the same level as the other characters *after GK*. As you rightly stated, Dempsey goes from a hot head to an intropective person, Tak goes from being honourbound to experiencing freedom and remorse and Nikolai... Well Nikolai has the saddest burden to bare. His family. Before the events of GK, many of his quotes are about 'getting home'', believing that once it is all over he can return to whoever he has left. However, when the ending cutscene comes around, we see Nikolai confront himself, and try to have a heartfelt conversation about the one they lost (It's either his wife or his daughter I'm sorry I can't remember), but his other self, drunk and suffering, snaps back at Nikolai with the shot. This acts as a moment of realisation for Nikolai 2.0, and we even see it from the cutscene by his reaction (yelling angrily and shooting 1.0). He has now realised his life, his old life, is gone. He's gone from stubborn and unaccepting of the others to confused but more open. I would argue the poor guy has lost more than all 3 put together, because they (as far as we know) did not have what he had - a family, who he spent his entire life working for and protecting, who he knows he will now never see again...

I want Nikolai to just snap. Have his under lying Rage come front and center. In Bo4 Rictofen will kinda be like a fish out of water, not being one step ahead anymore. Dempsey will still be the head strong soldier with his own underlying depression, questioning Richtofen and leading the others to find out more that Rictofen wont tell. Takeo will be the badass Samuri taking his first true strides without his Honor or Emporer at his center and Nikolai will (maybe) be the same depressed Rage filled Russian but maybe his Rage is about to boil over. Maybe he will put his past behind him and fight even harder for his and his friends future.

Another interesting detail is that the zombies have red eyes in both MOTD and Gorod Krovi. I know this has been common knowledge for a while. But this discussion really made that detail stick out to me.

I noticed when Richton was reading the Kronor I'm he said "our blood". My theory is that because the mob character blood is useless and we all know how cutthroat he is and willing to do what needs to be done, perhaps post revelations Richtofen trapped them there on purpose and perhaps the other Richtofen suspects this and that's why he is so angry and says "you can't possibly expect me to let this happen". This would not only make their blood an option and make the statement he made while reading more relevant, but it would also count as Richtofen sacrificing himself for the greater good just another "himself". What do you guys think?

It took me this long to realize that the MOTD pap camo is essentially the same as the Shadows of Evil camo. Makes sense considering that the maps’ ideas are connected.

This is such a good video man. I personally loved Nikolai throughout black ops 3, although Dempsey was my favorite by far. I really hope that Nikolai has a huge part in Blood of The Dead. Love it. Awesome video/ theory! Re: MOTD cycle not being broken in the timeline. Maybe it has been broken and that’s why Weasel remembers they are in a cycle. Maybe he has already completed his purpose and has “reached free will” as the theory you mentioned in a previous video. He’s probably still stuck in his cycle because at the end of the day the MOTD crew are dead, they can’t bring themselves back to life and carry on doing other things. If I’m not wrong the mobsters were executed before the events of MOTD.There’s a lot that doesn’t get mentioned in the timeline I.e remastered loading screen events. Re: significance of who’s blood Primis uses to survive- I think what makes the blood special is the fact that those crews “did the right thing” and completed their cycles: MOTD crew by letting Al win. And Victis by completing the BO2 EEs or helping Primis Richtofen get the Kronorium. But these are just theories, zombie theories lol Once again, awesome video/ theory, always got my notifications on and can’t wait for the next one!

I just thought about this but what if the primis charecters are emotions. Like Nikolai is anger, Dampsey is deapression, Takeio is courage, and Richtofen isimsanity. Nikolai is mad because he couldnt save his wife thatd why in Blood of the deas Trailer we see him beat the hell out of a crawler he had an outburts. Also coul be an anxiety attack mayne Nikolai is anxiety and Richtofen is anger. Honestly i don't really know but i wanna help crack the case add me on PS4: smokedogx420. Yes! I believe that in this timeline, the weasel kills the mobsters, breaking the cycle. This causes the events of the blood of the Dead intro cutscene. The way we continue the bo3 story normally is we kill weasel restoring the cycle, and making the blood usable in revelations
