My 135mm f2.8 is most definitely tac sharp. Just done testing tonight against all my vintage Nikon lenses and it was miles ahead by f4...I'd say almost perfect for a vintage lens. Total edge to edge sharpness. Close behind were the 200 f4, the 105 2.5, the 50mm 1.8 ais and then the 24 2.8, but of course the focus plain changes with the wider lenses. Still all were tac sharp in the Centre at f4. I was also pleasantly surprised by how sharp the 50mm 1.2 was at f4.
Its a wonderful lens, I use it on the Panasonic S1h and Blackmagic 6k pro with a Nikon to Canon adapter , a great lens to shoot , you will get a Cinematic look.
I'm looking for this lens for my Fuji XT3. All I find is the non AI & AI converted lenses. Will these work (with adapter) and are they as good as the AI version?
Bought one for 80 USD. There are no cheaper and good 135 for Canon EOS system with autofocus (the f2 L costs 600-700 USD used) so I am giving this a try! Easier to find and cheaper than Sonnar design 135's, which were my initial goal...
The 135/2.8 AI-s is among the sharpest lenses I've ever worked with. It's in fact so sharp that I felt the need to slightly blur the eyes of my model because they felt just oversharpened ...
I have the 85 F2, 105 F2.5 and the 135 F2.8. All three are outstanding lenses, and I do own some exotic glass like the Leica Apo Summicron M 75mm F2, and some Canon L lenses, so I do have something to compare them to.
These vintage manual focus lenses are pretty awesome on a mirrorless body. I recently purchased the 50mm 1.8 ai-s for my z50. It's much smaller and better built than the current production 1.8g which is four times the price at which I bought the ai-s.
Does lens works and understand Manual Focus Assist Function in camera? Is it something like auto focus or what? Thank you for in depth very good review on this lens.
Hey! Please keep an eye on OLX, Facebook marketplace and Quickr. Also, let camera stores know that you’re looking for one. Stores like Future Forward and Kumarjee in Delhi, for example, have good reach. You should pay around INR 15/16k / 150 to 200 (USD) for this. Also, do subscribe to this channel and watch the other videos! It’s a new channel so your kindness will help us so much! See you around!
Hi Manish, I have a source of a guy with fantastic vintage lens collection. Please drop me a message on Instagram here: instagram.com/storyframestm?igshid=4sl4xfan96wm
It’s available for 100 bucks mostly and yet is so sharp it will cut your finger 😮😂….it’s unbelievably good …everyone goes it’s a portrait lens only. I’ve shot landscapes. Pets - sitting still though. I use the touch screen to focus as watch it on the screen not viewfinder
