Sheeeeeeeeesh! Really impressed how the 85 did with the sun shining right towards the lens too. The golden hour shots are amazing. Also, really impressed with how contrast-y and sharp the images at 4:18 and 4:22 are, from her hair to the pants...freaking amazing. Man, look at that, now the 85 1.2S is my Amazon cart, haha

You did a great job bro. I love this lens, it has retired my lovely 105 1.4e. My Z8 was recalled so for now it's just Z7ii for me and it's a wonderful camera with average af. The amazing thing is that this lens improved my af to the point I find it reliable for all my portrait works now. Nikon did a great job with this lens, the rings all well dampened.

nice lens but not sure about the price. A Nikon AF-S Nikkor 105mm f/1.4E can be had for $1400 which is half of the 85 1.2 and the images as just as good if not better.

That’s a fact. The 105 f1.4 is still an amazing lens. Especially at that price! I may have to do a 85mm f1.2 vs 105mm f1.4 now 👀.

@@inchon66 not when you’re shooting into the Sun. The Nikon handles flair waaayy better than the Sigma. I’ve shot both several times and know from experience. The Sigma is only better because it’s cheaper. But image quality goes to the Nikon!

May i ask what is the extended viewfinder attachment ? How does it help ? I have been seeing many photographers clicking after looking at the external screen , instead of the more traditional pop-your-eye-inside-the-viewfinder approach. KILLER SHOTS

Love your videos beautiful model, but your sand bag is not being used properly on the light stand. Should be on the higher leg so that it hangs without touching the ground to get the most benefit of the bag. Love your work!

I tell everyone the same thing. They are the exact same camera. One is just smaller and lighter. Everything else is the same. Same sensor, same processor, same everything internal.

Hey there, great video and nice to see the BTS! I have a question, I own a Z8 together with the older 105 f1.4. I am looking towards the Z 85 1.2 but the range of 85mm is a bit too wide for me. Would you shoot the 85 1.2 in full resolution at the Z8 and crop it in DX mode to get a tighter view or should I better wait for the promised Z 135 f1.8 to get the more compressed look?

If I were you I would hold on to the 105 and wait for the 135 1.8 or go out and buy the 70-200 f2.8. I’m not a fan of cropping in on lenses unless you HAVE to. I want to be able to get the whole 45 megapixels for better resolution and cropping after the fact. The only time I would really shoot in DX mode is if I was shooting and event or something and needed to get in tighter but didn’t have the ability to switch my lens or something. Otherwise I always shoot full frame. Just my advice tho.

@Desco-a-lenha-no-Lombo the Z8 and Z9 are literally the same camera on the inside. One is just in a bigger body. They have the same sensor and processor. There is no difference between the two cameras. None except for the battery life and the size of the cameras.
