I love my Z9. I've always gotten lower-mid/prosumer cameras, and typically outgrow them/max them out within not too long. I'm not saying that this camera doesn't have limitations. But, I'll be growing into this for a while.

Started on Nikon and been shooting photography on it for about 10 years. Recently switched to Sony for video / hybrid shooting when the A7IV came out, but I would gladly go right back to Nikon if I could get my hands on this beauty

One problem, once you go to a camera, there's no turning back. It's far more expensive. I suggest if you want to do video a great mid range camera is the Sony A7IV, it's the best allrounder at this point. If you want to focus on video there's the A7Siii. If you want the best hybrid camera that will last for another 5 years, get the Z9. Then there's the lenses. If you have a big budget, go for the 24-70 and 70-200 2.8 as all round lenses. If you are on a budget, aim for an f4 with 24-100 or 24-120. You can also get some great primes, the best for filming people is the 35mm and 50mm. If you want landscape, go for around 20mm.

Great job, I enjoyed your presentation. Thanks for sharing. I agree with you about all that you discussed, except when you showed a histogram while talking about the camera's new waveform feature. As you know, those are not the same. The Z9 offers both a histogram and a waveform. Otherwise, your video was excellent and made me happy I have the camera and lenses you presented. Your recommendations are well taken. I subscribed.

Good for Nikon. I am happy for them. They have to try to separate themselves from competition. Last 5 years of Nikon they seem to feel like a trend follower company always trying to catch up to there competitors as oppose to trend setters.

The last 2 years perhaps, but the D850 and D6 were still the best photography machines on the market until the a1 came out. I am fully aware they were not the most hip, but they were still the best nonetheless.

D3500 uses F mount lenses and Z9 uses the new Z mount lenses. But, you can adapt F mount lenses to Z mount using FTZ Adaptor. But, there's again another problem, which is, the D3500 is a crop sensor camera and the Z9 is full frame. Basically, you can use full frame lenses on crop sensor camera, but you can't use crop lenses on full frame camera, well you can, but you'll get black corners due to the size, you're gonna have to crop or use crop mode.

These are some awesome features and definitely agree it's priced for someone who is already making (decent) money from their photography and or video work or the hobbyist who just doesn't know what to do with all the extra money burning a hole in their pocket.😎 I was a long time fan of Nikon and still think they make great cameras but I got tired of how bulky they are and moved over to Sony.

There are far better video camera solutions out there than spending 10 grand on a hybrid. Its also a bit a a shock when you invest all this money only to have the destination for your content, be it RU-vid or other platforms, telling you that they only accept 1080p or 2K and the file size limit is 10gb. All of a sudden that new Sony FX30 starts to make real sense.

I don't feel like 8k is going to be normalised ANY time soon. Not even Netflix video is 4k. Its 1080p up scaled to 4k... Amazing hey. The Z9 isn't accepted by Netflix yet...

Fujifilm did it first. Successfully. Canons overheating 8k doesn’t count. And it’s only $2,000 the Nikon is 5.5k so fuji is 1/2 the price.
