Since 2017, I’m still using my Nikon D3300. It’s best to have a higher quality SD Card for this but it does annoy me when the flash suddenly pops up, makes me laugh a little (inside) and does me look like a prat. Overall performance: highly recommend if you’re just getting into the more advanced and adventurous photography styles as it even has an easy shoot mode, which my dad felt comfortable with. All round, well worth it even for its price and dominates over its equal opposite: Canon EOS and SONY A Series (SONY A100).
Focal length is a property of the lense, so the crop factor applies not only to full frame lenses but also to the DX lenses. With a 18-105 the field of view will corrisponde to a 27-157,5 FX lense
If you get the AF-P 18-55mm lens, when you are shooting video, the firmware changes the motor to become 100% silent, you can't hear any focusing noise at all in the microphone. The AF-S lens makes horrendous dot matrix printer sounds. The stock AF-S 18-55mm lens is insanely beautiful, with razor sharp photos and video. The AF-P lens I think is just as good, but too soon to tell, as I just got it. You'll have to do a free firmware upgrade to use the AF-P lens.
Please help. Does the camera have exppsure preview function when using the live view mode. I bought the d3100 and when i change the isp, aperture or ahitter speed, the live view shows ths exact same exposure. I can only see the exact exposure after I've taken the photo. I've sold the d3100 and now im eyeing the Nikon d3300. Please help. Ive been a canon shooter since forver and if i use the live view mode, it shows the exact exposure when i changet the settings. That way i can see if im overexposing or underexppsing the shot before i even take the shot. Please help me!
I was wondering if this would be a good camera for taking pictures of horses...starting to get into equine photography and can't choose a camera but this is one of my options.
For getting started it does a brilliant job - if your looking to do it more professionally id invest in something along the higher end of the spectrum :)
i was wondering how is it to photograph the sky with this camera, like a stormy cloud or the milky way, have you tried this? if you had, perhaps there are some images i could see, i would really appreciate it, anyways thanks for the video enjoyed it!
5:18 your hands are growing?? Lmao how old are you that you are not a fully grown yet? Jk good vid 👌 try adding a battery grip and an extra battery to add some weight. Maybe even an external flash to really beef it up.
Hi. I have a problem with my camera's AF-S and AF-F. When I set it into Live View, the shutter won't release. However, when I switch it to MF, the camera works. May I ask what seems to be the problem with the auto-focus in this case? Any action you may suggest will be much appreciated. This is the first time I encountered this problem. P.S. My cam is Nikon D3300. Thanks & GOD bless!
Hiya, Is the lens or the camera set to MF? If not it could be a problem with the focusing system on your camera. If your in low light too may restrict the focus capability too.
@@Ben_Broomfield Thank you Sir for replying. What can I possibly do with the focusing system? When I used to take photos using Live View with Auto Focus, there seems to be a beeping sound with a box turning green, so I would just do a long press then the shutter releases.. but now, though the box turning green is still there, I can no longer hear the beeping sound and the subject appears blurry, the shutter wouldn't release. This worried me a lot since this was the first time it happened.
You should be able to - I believe Elgato has a product that can do it. You can also connect a capture card in the micro HDMI port but the UI will show up. I’d get a webcam personality and that’s what I use anyway
You sure can! My brother uses a Rode Video Mic Go! with this DSLR for video - it has a mic in but no headphone out for monitoring. I’d recommend playing with the mics gain in the settings also when installed.
What would be the best lense for this camera to shoot videos? Indoor for the best possible picture. For some reason, quality isnt that great with my basic 18-55mm
You can set it to "A" on the manual selection, then turn the wheel on the back to the lowest number aperture setting (3.5) and zoom all the way back, to fully zoomed out, then get close to your subject, then hit the + button and turn the wheel to adjust the brightness up or down. Hit the "i" button on the lower left, then set your auto focus to center point auto focus. Or shut off the A/M focus button on the side of the lens and just do manual focus, while holding down the shutter button, so you will get a green light in the viewfinder when you have your focus locked on. The center point focus allows you to get the focus dead on, and it's much easier to choose what to focus on, instead of the default random auto focus feature which kind of randomly selects stuff and doesn't get the right focus. If you are taking work photos or historical reference photos, you'll want to use an F-Stop of F11 or higher, in order to capture the entire object in focus, along its length. Only use F3.5 or low F stop aperture for artful photos. Putting the camera in Auto mode with the flash disabled also works incredibly well.
O c'mon this is a review about a camera but you spend most of the time commenting on the physique and features which should take only a few weeks of experience using it. Instead the all-important sample photos worth of 1 year experience are left for just a couple of seconds near the end of the video.
I understand that but as I should mention all of my photos on Flickr at the moment are shot with this DSLR. You can then take the time to pixel peep & judge for yourself how the images are from this DSLR.
+StrawHatGaming it’s a great starting point - most of my videos are shot on this DSLR. Yes it does have a 3.5mm Mic jack but no headphone jack to monitor sound.
+Robert Walker Funny Enough I’m Recording A Video On That Right Now - I Think Aperture Priority Is A Good Mode For Moving Into Manual, It’s Also Good For Portraits Aswell. I Shoot In Manual But Id Only Use It If Manual Wasn’t Performing Good. Auto ISO Can Be Ok But As I’ve Said I’d Be In Manual As You Have More Control Over Your ISO.
Sorry I have no clue what you mean. If your shooting in liveview then your able to do video & photos although shooting through a display I find horrible compared to a viewfinder personally. 20 mins video @ 1080p30 and 10 mins video @ 1080p60 - that’s the limit on how much you can shoot BUT can record again after the time is up. Battery life will be lower as your using the display instead of the viewfinder so I would say I would half your battery life.
I've ranted about this on other posts, but if hear any more "entry level" statements just because the camera is a few years old, I'll execute some fucker.
Not saying the camera is entry-level because it’s a few years old! I’m saying it is because it is in Nikon’s lineup. Now being replaced by the D3500 and the previous D3400 - those two are still both powerful entry-level Cameras. If I compared it to my D500 or a D850 then, I would still be calling it entry-level. I say it not Because it’s bad (it’s far from it) but because it is a entry-level camera in Nikon’s lineup.
