I recently moved from a D3200 to a D7100. Different as night and day. The learning curve on the D3200 was steep but this is precipitous. Thanks for explaining all of the mysteries of this camera to this octogenarian.
Hi Brian, no problem at all, I am glad the video was useful. You are proof that you are never too old to enjoy a new camera! Thank you for watching, have fun, Dave.
Thank you thank you thank you. I spent much time with the Nikon manual and a $20 or so slick book, and couldn't find out how to display pix w/o the info. Spent endless time on the playback menu, would select None image only, would check it, click OK and it wouldn't do anything --would still display some info. You showed that it's about OK button. I still can't make sense of entering a choice on the menu, but it no longer matters.
Hi Harry, I am really glad the video was useful. I am not sure there is a menu option for showing the image without info, probably because you can scroll through the options on the OK button. Thank you for watching, have fun, Dave.
i like the way the functions are explained in a manner even amateur or hobby photographers, like me can easily understand .... thank you for the excellent presentations that started with part 1!
I have the manual. And as all good reading does. Caught up on my sleep.. Thank you for being here. Well also the drums. Don't care for the drums. But hey it keeps me going. Thanks again.
Thank you, this video is very helpful. Do you have a video on how to navigate and set the iso, aperture, and shutter speed. I just recently bought my camera and still learning, thank you!
My pleasure, I'm glad the video was helpful. There are a couple of videos explaining shutter speed etc. from the early days of the channel. Here is the link to one I hope it helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K0xERmrOfV0.html Thanks for watching, have fun, Dave.
I seem to remember something somewhere about pressing the ok button to zoom in 100% to check focus (probably in live view?) Can you do this on this camera?
On the D7100 you can zoom in to check focus using the + (QUAL) button. This only works in live view. I think zooming in using the OK button was introduced on later models, like the D500. Thanks for watching, have fun, Dave.
+Evan Reyes Do you mean on my video or on the camera in general? Zooming in does tend to show the detail more clearly, it could be just the camera's screen resolution.
Hmmm...my new AF-S28-300 is a littlt soft on my D7100 and I want to quickly review how to do it correctly. I look up this video and you totally skip it. Won't waste my time on your videos again😢
