I had no idea that this is how scary the guts of this camera would look. It is a masterpiece of engineering and that's why justifies it's price. Amazing work on fixing it. I think this is equivalent in complexity to a sophisticated mechanical watch movement or something of that order!
Hi there, amazing video. I got a D850 in pristine visual condition, looks like new in it's box but the camera is not turning on. Tried several batteries, which work in another camera but no luck turning on the D850. Can I try with a grip and try turning on through the grip commands ? If not what are the possible issues here. The battery contacts are looking like new. Dead mother board? Power board ? Both ? Can I try getting a spare D850 motherboard and replace it to give it a try ? Much appreciated your advisory sir. Hello I seriously appreciate your making all of these amazing video tutorials on fixing all of these cameras. I have a Nikon d850 and the viewfinder is blurry now while I can make out what I am focusing on it’s very blurry inside my viewfinder of the eye piece I’ve tried to adjust the diopter but that doesn’t help in always at all in making what I am looking at though the viewfinder can you please help me to learn how to remove this viewfinder and replacing it thanks
Go to your local camera store, I'm sure they will know who's working on Nokons and Canons. They should have buckets of them... well, at least pill bottles... lol
What causes the aperture lever to be at "down" position for my d300s. The normal position should be "up". This makes my viewfinder really dark. It doesn't autofocus but when in manual mode it takes well exposed pictures. So right now I'm using manual lenses and have my aperture at it's widest to make the viewfinder bright. Stopping down the aperture makes the viewfinder darkens too.

check the sensor of the shutter assembly if properly connected to the socket or the shutter engine mechanism is in right timing ,if you forgot the timing there are arrow or line you will see at the gear..
One question, can the infrared filter be removed from the sensor? I want to modify my nikon 850 for astrophotography but I don't know if the filters are glued or separated
