I noticed you have a couple of scratches on your shutter dial. This can happen when the shutter is locked during 'A" aperture-priority mode and you try to force the dial to turn. At least this is what to me. I put a big noticeable scratch on my shutter dial on an otherwise 'mint condition' camera ! This bothered me so much, that I finally replaced the shutter dial with a brand new one. It took me 3+ years to find one on eBay. Now I can admire my FE2 every day before I go to bed.
Hi! Thanks so much for watching! I believe those scratches were there when I bought it, unfortunately. It’s nice to know that I can replace it if I decide to! I’m terrible with keeping my cameras in good condition, though. I always try to squeeze too many into my camera bag. It’s a good reminder that I should take better care of my vintage cameras! ☺️
Stumbled on your Video via the RU-vid algorithm. I'd add that the FE2 has a wide range of shutter speeds. I thinks it's about as good as manual Film Cameras got. Second it has a standard flash shoe. Might sound odd at first but Nikon used a proprietary flash shoe on some cameras of the F Series which made flash use quite inconvenient.

It’s definitely a bit difficult to get the focus right. Since it’s manual focus you have to align the two images you see through the lens. There’s a horizontal line when you look through the viewfinder and you just have to make sure the image above lines up with the one below and it will be in focus. But if you want a different part of the image in focus other than the center focal point, you just have to trust your eyes and manually focus until it’s how you want it. It takes some getting used to!
