I saw you formatting the card to get rid of the images stored. According to a Z9-guru in the US, if you format the card you will erase all the camera settings stored in the camera. Could you please clarify. Thanks
Formatting a card does NOT erase the camera settings. What "guru" said this? This would be a terrible user experience, to "carry your settings with your memory card" lol
Question for you. I recently purchased a Z9 and I had issues with the camera freezing up on me. Trying to diagnose the problem. I upgraded to the latest firmware from 2.1 to 3.0 and I was using the SanDisk CF express type B card 128 GB. I had no other cards to compare, but could that card and camera combination have been problematic?
There is an older and newer type of the Sandisk Extreme Pro CF Express card. The older type has been reported to cause probs on Nikon DSLMs, the newer one works well (I have a 64 GB and 128 GB version of that newer card); it has a product code ending *NN, the older one *IN - the newer one has a multi-colored CFE logo on the backside, the older one a monochromatic black one. There is a report about that in the Nikon support area.
Hello there, unfortunately, we do not have a specific list or information on each card and how many pictures can be stored on said card. What we do have in the Z 9 manual is a test that we have done with the ProGrade Digital COBALT 1700R 325GB card. It displays the number of shots that can be recorded on the card, depending on the image quality and other settings. This could help give you an idea of how much is expected to be recorded on your 256GB CF Express card. Please note that the number of images that can be recorded depend on various factors, mainly the image quality. Here is the link to the online manual page which mentions this - onlinemanual.nikonimglib.com/z9/en/memory_card_capacity_guid-4f1260eb-130d-c0d8-b330-bbcecaf36ede_308.html
