മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലയിലെ നിലമ്പൂരിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ആദ്യത്തെ മനുഷ്യനിർമ്മിത തേക്കുതോട്ടമാണ് കനോലി പ്ലോട്ട് എന്ന പേരിലുള്ള നിലമ്പൂർ തേക്ക്തോട്ടം. ലോക പൈതൃക പട്ടികയിൽ ഇടം നേടിയ ഈ തോട്ടത്തിനു 5.675 ഏക്കർ വിസ്തൃതിയുണ്ട്. ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭരണകാലത്ത് തേക്ക് തടിയുടെ ക്ഷാമം പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിനായി അന്നത്തെ കലക്ടർ എച്ച്.വി കനോലിയുടെ നിർദ്ദേശപ്രകാരം ഫോറസ്റ്റ് കൺസർവേറ്ററായിരുന്ന ചാത്തുമേനോൻ 1846-ലാണ് ഈ തേക്ക് തോട്ടം നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഈ തോട്ടം നിർമ്മിക്കാൻ ഡോക്ടർ റെഗ്‌സ് ബർഗ്ഗിന്റെയും സഹായം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു
Nilambur Teak Plantation, also known as Connolly Plot, is the world's first man-made teak plantation located at Nilambur in Malappuram district. This World Heritage Site has an area of 5.675 acres. This teak plantation was planted in 1846 by Forest Conservator Chathumenon at the behest of the then Collector HV Connolly to solve the shortage of teak timber during the British rule. Dr. Regs Burgh also had help in building this garden
