After almost 6 years watching drumcams on RU-vid, I've decided to create an account just to comment this truly out-of-this-world-performance. Not human.
I grew up with this dude and hanged around his first band Pathos. Lived like 100 meters from him and could hear him practise every day! Hell yeah Nils Fjällström! You made it, ofcourse!
What an absolute beast! I've seen some shit in my days, but when I saw them play at Wacken in 2012... I witnessed the most ferocious, accurate and fast live drumming. Jaw dropping.
What makes you think that? Nils did play with Dark Funeral in 2012. He has been their only drummer ever since Matte Modin quit in 2007. Nils momentarily quit the band in 2010 but was back in 2011 but he has played with them since.
@@adnanrawashdeh3965 it's amazing to not feel alone there haha. He really is ahead of the game, I have met the guy he is extremely humble as well and deserves to be exalted. I have a couple videos of them live and I was directly in front of them in the perfect center
@@GalaBoable in metal overall, Mário Duplantier In his genre, he is a mediocre drummer (the bar is too high, the medium drummer for this genre is a monster)
for sure :) what about death metal, latest series of videos with hunhau mitnal lord marco absolutely monstrous perfomance... i have never seen anything like that in my life
Nils is undoubtedly in a league of his own. Yes, I absolutely think that commonly mention drummers like Trym, Hellhammer, Frost and Nicholas Barker all pale in comparison to Nils. I'm yet to hear anything from any other black metal drummer that would make me doubt that for even a millisecond.
Remember when this album came out in 1996 and Equimanthorn's drumming was just unfuckingbelievable? Well, the bar has been raised several times since then in metal drumming land, and as monstrously impressive as this guy is, I kind of miss those days when there were absolute black metal pioneers that put a lot of brutal physicality into their playing. Now, in part thanks to RU-vid's myriad of instructional videos, surgically precise extremely fast drummers are a dime a dozen.
Exactly, this is why guys like Alex Rudinger don't impress me that much. Too clinical, like if you're gonna be precise and clean, be tasty, powerful and flashy like this guy and Jamie Saint Merat
Dream Theater is a good example of this. They went from a drummer with a lot of groove and feel to one of the most clinical and precise drummers there is. It all sounds so lifeless now :( It's all very impressive on a technical standpoint, but it stops being art.
He is so fucking fast with his blast beats... thats the outcome of years of practicing :) Only thing thats is fucking with my brain is that he is left handed player :D
