This is a great study of how dynamic the sound of a single note can be on the piano. As the volume changes on the note, especially in the live recording on the album, you can hear the overtones differently when the strings are struck with much force vs. when they are lightly tapped. The urgency of the repetition and volume/timbre builds to a climax and then denouement. Magic.

I Like how this repetitive note of the beginning kind of "shocked" me ( you need to be daring to start a track like this ) and then when it stops @3:25 , you realise it is emptiness without it.

i understand but i'm also a musician playing with feelings so trust me i can , i just did a bit of piano and others instrument . But i play mostly ukulele tenor (in musician style not only 4 chord stuff like you can see with this instrument )

its not that hard as a musicina even if i'm not pianist player . i can play some chords and short moment of this . i mean nils for me is not a skill full player . He plays emotion with simple chords and touch . (this dont mean its bad )

I dunno.. I'm really not keen on the constant hitting of just 1 note. I know that he is keeping himself in 6/8 meter but it's annoying compared to the rest of the song! But each to their own huh?

i've never said its bad lol . I dont think musicians need to do lot of keys to be able to express something or create wonderfull melody otherwise metal musician are the best (i hate metal )
