01:01:50 I like how she really tries to convince Mr. Boiler Room to let her play one more tune and when he agrees how happy she and the crowd is about that.
For those that are criticizing her mixing, she was dealing with multiple equipment issues. Right from the beginning the turntable on the right was not putting signal out of one channel. Then the platter was sticking, slowing down and speeding up. She was visibly pissed, She is true pro to pull out this set out while dealing with these issues. Sound issues on a worlwide set is extremely upsetting when you are all pumped up, it takes all the steam out of the energy. It was very clear she got her groove on after the first half.
+Steve Holling It looked like her "helper" had to point out that the pitch lock was set at 0, and had to turn it off for her (see 2.38). BASIC fking shit. Any true DJ that has spun on vinyl knows that channels go out. You check 2 things right off, reseat the cartridge (which her helper did for her) and check both RCA's are in the back of the mixer correctly. I want to like her, but after deejaying for 32 years myself I am not going to buy that bullshit. I honestly think the vinyl & turntables were there purely for "show". I had to stop watching after 25 minutes because I couldn't take any more of the "pretending" to play vinyl records. I'd be surprised if she actually played one in the entire set because it requires being able to mix by ear, with no technology calculating bpm's, displaying waveforms etc. Embarassing mate.
+Martin Prendergast Well then from a fellow older gen DJ I have to tell you you missed some shit hot techno from around 40min mark... fuck the minor issues... excellent music choice in an era where the younger guys are rarely dropping tracks like this anymore...
+Martin Prendergast and you are trying to tell that she does not know.......Ð???????? shes the only one whos fucking playing records. And it just happend that something was wrong. and even from someone like you, that pretends to be a professional for 32 years... dares to comment like this to her. Go back to your shed and mix some records instead of taking a piss out on DJ who are actually playing records and bloody good once as well. Shame on you. go take care of your kids and watch teletubbies you shit bag.
@@MartinP9320 you been djing for 32 years and don't have anything to show for it. Not even a bedroom mix of you on the wheels of steel to back up your superior knowledge and skills as a DJ. I think you're a professional troll and that's about it.
The Scot - quite possibly the hardest partying race on earth. A club night with them is like nothing else you’ll experience. Everyone dances, every one sweats, chanting, cheering, singing, no standing around looking cool or disinterested or ironic. Quality bunch
I don't understand the criticism of her mixing here, it is pretty tight throughout the whole set with some minor corrections that every DJ has to do from time to time. She is burning through the tracks pretty quickly as well which is better than most 10 tracks an hour jocks floating about these days. Great track selection and flows super well.
tofunuggets Shouldn't it be tight throughout the set though? I see other DJs make mistakes as well, but Nina tends to make really big mistakes that really take you out of the flow. I couldn't justify that by saying the rest of the set is great. I can say it's a great set overall. I can't say she's brilliant at mixing.
***** Well that was my point...in this set it is very tight in general. I am not trying to say Nina is amazing on the technical side of things usually, I have heard some quality trainwrecks in previous mixes at the best of times but this one is absolutely bang on imo.
tofunuggets Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoyed this set. I even downloaded the video. However, I suppose because of that it makes it extra hard for me to overlook the big mistakes.
I don't see a laptop. I see records and some files dropped into the CDJs. This is the rawest set I've heard and seen in a while. I keep coming back to this to get the vibes.
When somone can manage to play on 2 decks & 2 cdj-s., and flawlessly cover all 4 channels - then you know you are listening TRUE DJ :D....love it, finally a Boiler that's worth to listen.
I think i saw all now on yt available Sets from Nina and for me this one is her best and makes the most fun to watch. The crowd here is also awesome.Nina seems to have big fun. Ah, when she smiles i just wanna give her a hug
+Adam D. It's her jump into it that got me! Pure love for the music and you can see it in her. When the bass from one tune comes up and the fader from the other comes down and it sit's perfectly and sounds amazing, your'e the king in the room!
@@maximdemeulemeester877 Without a doubt 😁 Acid Creak has been, and will always be, one of the highlights in our little pioneering country's amazing role in the history of Electronic Music 🖤💣🎉❤️
agree., maybee the best one so far....almost all others dissapoint me totally, exepct Laurent Garnier's Lyon Boiler !!! It takes some pretty shit skills to manage 2 deck & 2 cdjs at once....covering all 4 channels isn't easy at all
Anyone here ever visit Club PURE at the Venue in Edinburgh back in the 90,s??? Egg Bam Yasi, Derrick May loved playin it!! BEST CLUB EVER!!! RIP PURE!!!
Quality techno. One of the best dj's I've seen. 46 now. Too old to tear it up in a club. Nobody wants to see a dad dancer. But if nina had been around back in the day at Pure...
people criticising her mixing have their heads a bit too much up their ass. she isn't supposed to be a machine, she is not constantly derailing mixes, the music is great, she keeps people jumping, what's the obsession with perfection?
juancs Is it really an obsession with perfection though? Some mistakes could keep it interesting/human I suppose, but many of these mistakes I would consider unforgivable, not to mention they really take you out of the flow. It seems a given that she should get more practice.
***** yea i know some mistakes are unforgivable, specially if they happen all the time. but do they happen here? where for example? jeff mills' sets are full of "mistakes" when mixing frenetically, yet they are great. i'm not comparing...
The Anomaly Sorry, Ben Klock on one of his high energy sets really doesn't give you room to breathe. Wish you'd compared someone else and not Klock. As far as I'm concerned he is the epitome of energized techno right now. He brings it every night and when he doesn't he knows it. He's not my favorite though unfortunately!
Are you serious??? Selction is pretty goos but she needs to take beginner lessons in mixing. Sorry mate, but you are wrong... Klock is one of the finest in the bussines!!
ktn Damran Sesi Guto Ok, we are not starting a flamewar. Let's try and be responsive and positive about our comments. Seek to enlighten and educate. Not to ostracize. Remember, you are the bigger person. Act like it.
Always love seeing someone love the music they're mixing. It helps that the set was/is also fantasic. Have yourself a new fan in me, Nina. Honorable mention to the Scots up north, for creating a good atmosphere. o/
+SuperKiller232 Made me wonder? OC? Orange County Bangers? Original Content Bangers? On Call Bangers? Other Contributors....? Ocean City....? No idea! pretty sure its NOT Overated Crap........
I'm so glad they have those guys in the Boiler Room t-shirts taking cares of Nina's personal space. In her previous boiler room, the dudes were really creepy behind her.
1st: Everyone back the F up. 2nd: Liquids in cups don't mix well with electronics (be careful). 3rd: Stripe shirt dude tripping. 4th: Didn't take long to find that one dude without a shirt on. 5th: Nina killed it.
Gonna have to agree with you on that front. I'm going to sound like a hater but I'm going to say it anyway. I don't like it when musicians are too focused on their appearance and almost sexualize their work. What happens is you get a load of thirsty dudes/girls that excuse the fact that their work is mediocre because of what they look like and then they get crazy popular, the genre ends up with a thousand clones who headline festivals and effectively water the genre down. I know all she's doing is dancing but you just have to look at the comments to get my point
Ostala si dosledna svom stilu kao i karakteru, ne moze ti niko nista. Ista si i posle 8 godina samo jos jedno 3 puta bolja i usavrsenija. Volim te puno, najjaca si i najlepsa. 💚
I would like to cordially invite the fine young gentleman in the striped shirt to come party with me and my companions in Glasgow. RSVP via the comments.
