Leovince says that it works with panniers on. I can see in the video (Baffle installed) the direction of the exhaust, but how is it with the baffle removed? Pannier Meltdown?
It's interesting - for a bike that's 18 years newer than the FZS1000 there's really not much in it, FZS1000 is a great bike. Ninja 1000SX is also fantastic - you get the nice things like factory made TFT, Quick Shifter, cruise control, adjustable windscreen - but as for enjoyment / handling, speed etc...they're really not far off each other
TBH without the baffle you get a slight deeper tone, but not crazy loud. I think Neighbours would probably hear it but it's no way crazy loud. That massive cat is still doing most of the sound dampening. If I were to decat then I'd probably be using the baffle lol
@@MrScififan that is good to know. One more question, what kind of fuel efficiency are you getting? I heard that using Ivan's remap helps, but I have a hard time believing the 30 mpg claims to be true.
@@lovelessissimo On the Z, I've seen mpg ranges between 50-60 personally. Riding hard will get you down to 30-40 but touring mostly I've seen easily 50mpg with a 220-250 mile tank range. Hope that helps.
@@lovelessissimo I have a stock 2021 Ninja 1000SX with no exhaust changes, just the top case installed. Depending on the style of riding, I can squeak out ~39 MPG with a passenger and down to ~28 with some spirited solo riding.
@@MrScififan yeah u should but if i can give u an advice, if u gonna decat u also should do a remap with a specialist (decat decrases the torque at low and middle rpm)
Pretty much the same in the dry, maybe a bit more feedback from the S22s, but in the wet the PR5s are fantastic. Only got around 3K out of the S22s, but PR5s have been said to last longer - I've got about 2K on the PR5s and no sign of squaring off yet
@@MrScififan Damn, 3k miles is bad for that tyre. Can you also let me know what tail tidy you are using? cos it looks like that tail tidy goes with the OEM indicators
Catalytic converter does the dampening of the sound, you're going to face the same "problem" if what you want is high volume on any modern bike with a big engine, the most important thing is that you get a lighter exhaust and a bit better exhaust flow
