Both other comments here are great. Kohls had these on sale big time for Black Friday, and Amazon usually has good prices on the individual pans. I've used a lot of pans, OXO non-stick, Le Creuset non-stick (these are really good), ScanPan, Tfal, etc. I have to say for daily use the Ninja Neverstick is my favorite. It has good, even heat distribution that helps with a full pan of anything (usually bacon). It doesn't get nicked and scraped like some pans so you don't have to baby it. Clean up is a breeze. The only thing I've found as good is the Le Creuset non-stick stuff but that stuff costs like three times more and you have to baby them a lot more. The Ninja non-stick is where it's at. Perfect price point, lasts and cooks well. I'll buy more of their stuff when it's time to replace my other pots and pans.

@BeefT-Sq
@BeefT-Sq 3 года назад
I bought and tested the 8" model of the Ninja pan . It works . Read the directions FCS . Because it is thick and its non-stick surface trades away some slickness for durability, you must pre-heat it properly before putting the food in ( about 3-4 min. on a gas stove and 5 minutes on an electric stove ) . Use medium heat or a touch hotter . The thickness makes it heat evenly and should protect against warpage . Let all pans cool completely before washing . Tests that involve abuse of the pan or unrealistic conditions prove little ; Do not burn food in your pans ! Do not use cooking sprays as they can leave sticky stuff . The Granitestone pans are thinner, less comfortable to hold and no match for the Ninja .

I watch all the reviews, finally decide on the Granitestone Pro as my replacement for my old beat up pans. I have such great results, I tell my mom (who was looking into the Ninja pan but was concerned with the price and lack of reviews), she finally takes my advice and gets some Granitestone Pro pans.... AND THEN YOU COMPARE THEM SIDE BY SIDE ONE WEEK LATER. But from the looks of it, there's no discernable difference in performance for the considerably more expensive Ninja pans, so that's a real breath of fresh air.

One thing to keep in mind is that because different materials and thicknesses in materials, its possible that one pan might heat up quicker than another. So a timed test is not always effective and could be why the hex clad one burned so much faster.
@tonod24
@tonod24 2 года назад
@Adam7986 - You are absolutely correct. The same heat/timed test is not effective when comparing two pans of differing material/weights. When searing, the pan that heats up the quickest will form a crust and release what you are searing quicker, which is why the shrimp stuck more to the Ninja verse the Granite Rock. This is also the rationale behind the cheese burning in the hexclad verse not burning in the ninja. For pans that conduct heat better, you have to learn how to cook at lower temps to get the same results. I've been cooking with the Hexclad for years now and absolutely love them but the Ninja NeverStick in my opinion is a very close, cost effective, second. HexClad's are built to last on average 20-30 years verses the 5 years for most traditional non-stick pans. This is why Hexclad's are so much more expensive. Also, not sure why most reviewers always do the egg challenge without seasoning the pans first. Most cookware states that in addition to intially washing pans in hot soapy water and drying, you should season them before begining to cook with them for the first time. If this were the case, the egg whould have slide around in the Hexclad with no problem.

@Awaredo Год назад
My exact thoughts. He says it’s states it takes longer to heat … but he still gives them the same amount of time. Of course the others burned, lol they heat up quicker and were burning. Doesn’t really make it a fair comparison.

The method I used was to heat the pan over medium heat for about 30-60 seconds. Then I massaged the surface with a folded paper towel dipped in canola oil. At that point I took the pan off the heat, let it cool, then gently rubbed it with another dry paper towel, removing the excess oil out of it. It seemed to work.

They make 2 types of these pants with the same coating. One is a thick pan (as you have here) which is similar in performance to a cast iron skillet. And the other is a thin stainless, which would probably act more like your hex-clad. If you want fast heatup and don't need as even temperature distribution. The stainless doesn't need the special bottom stippling to work on magnetic hobs. I have both types.

I bought the Granite Pro set after your review. They are without question the best non stick pans I have ever owned. If they ever wear out I may consider the Ninja but that may take quite a while. I must add that I use a Nu Wave induction cooktop which is far more precise than any other heat source so they are never overheated or charred. They are still just like new. That brings to mind another suggestion I have made a couple of times, a review of the Nu Wave Pic Gold induction cooktop and comparison with gas (we don’t have gas here). I only use my electric stove if I need a 2nd burner.

I bought the Ninja 10 pc. set about two years ago, and I have loved this cookware....I have used many different pans including via working in a professional kitchen. When I examined the cookware in my local BBAB showroom, I was very impressed with the design and construction, as it compared to other brands....even All-Clad (Granted, The All-Clad available there probably wasn't its top line)....I had read and continued to read many reviews, from both regular Joe home cooks and professional articles, and in one article I read, the author stated that "it was like cast iron and non-stick had a baby!".....I immediately identified with this thought! Yes, they DO take a bit to heat up, but once they get going, they REALLY get going....and I have never experience any hot spots.....VERY even cooking! That being said, I have experienced a negative, in my particular case: After about two years of pretty heavy use, I discovered that the non-stick coating was "bubbling" up on the bottom of the 1.5 and 2.5 qt. sauce pans....but ONLY those two pieces.....and I don't believe this is from any abuse, on my part. However, I have never noticed any particles releasing onto my food or any blatant bare spots in the pan...for whatever that's worth. Sadly, it appears that I never registered my cookware (I checked on the website) so I probably don't have a leg to stand on....but I did message NINJA Kitchens via their Facebook page the other day, and am currently awaiting a response...so we'll see. Note: Unless it's a fatty cut or type of meat, I NEARLY always use some sort of fat (oil, butter...often both) to cook with, even in a "non-stick" pan....I find it cooks better and gives it a base flavor. *BTW....there is a 3 qt. high-sided sauté pan that comes with a lid in the set, and the lid DOES fit on that fry pan, as well.....and you can purchase that pan separately.

I'm not sure about all that, but I personally own this pan (my granite rock warped due to household members not listening and now it doesn't heat evenly) and I did not have the issue he ran into with the egg. I got it because of the thick base and heft. My hope is that it won't warp if certain people in my house decide they need to cook shit on high again. The instructions do say to let the pan come to temp by heating it up for a few minutes before applying the food.
