Yay! This is the first video that popped up when I searched how to clean it. I LOVE this oven. It has made the best food ever. But it’s DIRTY and I need to deep clean today. I appreciate it.
This is the best cleaning video I’ve seen. Watched a few before this and this is the most helpful! Thank you! I’ve been slacking a little on keeping my oven clean. I have all of these products besides the steamer. Thanks!!
Got to tell you the magic eraser worked fine and so did dawn spray.. Watched an earlier video using baking soda painted on and let it set over night, I do not recommend that process it left stains on the metal. Thanks for that video you made👍
Thank you for your video. I personally clean my oven after each use. I use a towel with a bit of Dawn dishwashing liquid. This way the dirt doesn't pile up.
Late to the party but I appreciate this video for sure. Used mine for the first time to bake a chicken and was anxious about how to clean it. That brillo pad looks like a pretty good one, along with the magic eraser. Thank you for the video!
Thank you very much! been trying to find someone cleaning a really dirty one, used mine for a few weeks heavily when I bought it and never even thought about a wipe out now I'm scrubbing at the danged thing thinking "there's has be a better way" I"m picking up some of the dawn today!
@@pressurecrisp You can't use BRILLO! All those fibers get stuck in the fan then end up on your next meal. It literally says this in the manual. Gotta be more aware.
Thanks for this video. The manual does mention not using abrasive cleaners and brushes. I had to clean ours using dish wash detergent and baking soda with warm water. The baking soda did cut into the grease but I think the soft scrubbing sponges will help in the future.
Another great and informative video. Thank you. I like to use the magic eraser sheets, only because they are thinner and I can reach into smaller areas with them. I also like to use the aluminum sheets from the dollar store to line the bottom removeable tray.
Shannon, I agree. It is a nightmare to keep it clean. You shouldn't have to spend so much time to keep this small oven clean. Its clear the interior does not handle grease well. I only had mine a week, took me a good 20 minutes to clean it, no thank you. It went straight back to QVC. If they make a newer model the interior should be non stick. I bought a Biochef airfry oven which is non stick and takes 2 minutes to clean after every use.
Thanks for taking the time to show the the different methods in detail. I have the items you used, plus I plan to try simple green with my scrub daddy sponge or magic eraser to see if it is better than the dawn power wash…side note since I started using the dawn power wash on some dishes etc, my white porcelain sink doesn’t get stains. I used to use Ajax or Comet about once a week now I use it less than once a month and wonder why I’m doing it even then…remembering as Susan Powell, Miss America 1981 on her “Home Matters“ tv show once said “ don’t clean clean “ Meaning, If it’s clean, clean something that’s dirty instead!
oh I like Miss Americas advice-how did the simple green work? I have that in the house and well I'm visiting my friend Chris and he hasn't cleaned his grill in almost a year -it is very bad-so I'm going to clean it for him. Thanks
It's because they're a very aggressive marketing company and are much more interested in profits. These ovens costs them pennies in the dollar to produce and I like mine but it's ultimately meant to be a disposable item.
Brillo pads clean everything - I always wear gloves with them Because of the aluminum. I hate using them but seems to be the thing I always go back to. Curious what type of Brillo you are using. Did it scratch the interior? I’ve also had a lot of luck with baking soda and peroxide and use it to clean my stainless juicer. It sits over night and wipes clean the next day. Have you tried this with the oven?
Thank you so much for this video !!!!!!!!! I don't understand why one oven has a fan screen, and one does not ?? PS. I'm ordering that Bissel steamer...I can use that for a lot of things !!
Thank you for showing us (me) that own this exact toaster oven how to clean it better. I haven't had my too long and actually just had to clean it today, and I was a little iffy as to how to do it. I like the idea's you suggested. I used a copper (real copper) scouring pad to clean it.
Ok; but be careful about how much pressure you apply to your oven! I used light pressure to clean mine, didn't seem to scratch it up or interfere with the functionality of the oven@@pressurecrisp
I used cleaning vinegar and trader Joe's dish soap..it requires a little more elbow grease but it's food safe. Magic eraser recommends rinsing after use if surface is used for food. I will try the steamer also, I have a similar model... the back corners didn't really come clean
I also destroyed the finish with oven pride. Mine also rusted significantly. I’m gonna try and use rust remover and a heatproof silver paint to restore the finish.
Be aware that when doing the wipe-out right after using it, you need to pull out the crumb tray on the bottom! I didn't think about it and when I finally needed to pull that out to clean I found a bunch of grease had gotten underneath it and baked on. The edges of the bottom elements are pretty sharp too, so it gets hard to wipe around them without getting small cuts on your fingers. Thanks for the info to check the back for grease! I never even thought of it! Now if there was just a way to clean the actual fan blade under the grate no way to access it at all. Mine looks nasty after only a month. On a side note, mine is one of the ones where the letters were rubbing off of the power and start buttons. I called Ninja and they are sending me a whole new oven! Just $22.31 for shipping. It doesn't come with any of the accessories tho. The original one does seem to have gotten louder over time when the fan runs, so I'm hoping the new one doesn't have the same issue.
Thank you! I love your videos. I don't have a Ninja Foodi yet but I am looking to get one in the next couple of months. I will be ready to use it with all this great knowledge I am picking up in the meantime
Thanks for making this video because not sure how grease got splatter and thinking how am i gonna clean that fan😳🤔🤦🏽♀️ and never tried my steamer bissell so can’t wait to try using that too😁good luck to me but all the cleaning agents you used seem yo pretty work but the magic eraser does seem to tear when scrubbing 😮 so thanks again for this cleaning tutorial 🥰
I have one of these the only way I have found to keep it clean and not use chemicals like it says is to wipe it down after every use which is a pain but it does work you can’t let anything bake on more than once
Y'all dr bronners sals suds and the brillo pad. Worked like a charm and mine was BAD. Lol😅made this one look amazing in the dirty state. Im sure the dawn works good too but for an actual "food safe" option sals suds is suitable for cleaning fruits and veggies so yea, food safe.
it's really awkward cleaning when you're short with short arms. i get frustrated. yours looks brand new compared to mine. i use it a few times a day every day. isn't the brillo kind of abrasive? doesn't it say not to use anything abrasive? steaming seems to take the longest.
The owner's manual says to specifically NOT use abrasive cleaners, scrubbing brushes, or chemical cleaners, says they will damage the oven. That would rule out an SOS pad. Wouldn't it have been much smarter to steam clean first and then scrub with sponge.
Yeah, we’ve had ours for a yr. now .. I clean the trays a lot but the back & sides are ABSOLUTELY baked on dark brown. It says not to use anything except to take out all trays & put on toaster #7 (which is what I do my toast on anyway) You said your unit was dirty - it looks pretty much brand spanking new to me, cause I was concerned about using cleaning agents, esp. the Mr. Clean pads are so toxic. We have the earlier unit with screen in back - it LOOKS like it could come off but I wasn’t sure & didn’t see anything in the manual, mine’s probably stuck closed by now. Anyway .. do what feels comfortable & works.
Hello everyone and Lisa.. Thanks so much for the tips.... I was watching this because I am thinking to buy one... but being quite a bit invalid with my arms, after reading all comments I realise I almost won't be able to scrubb 😢 and I hesitate now. So, 🙏🏽✨has anyone found a better model with the advantages of the NINJA, multifonctions, fast heating, dehydration but EASY TO CLEAN? Thanks for the answers ✨
I’m looking myself. I just got a one of these with the probe, and haven’t used it yet, but gonna return it due to all the reviews I’ve researched on how it’s a great pain to clean the interior of the oven including the pans that come with it. I got my oven for $230, but that much laborious time consumed cleaning ain’t worth it to me. I’d pay more for a product as this if it had very good nonstick features with longevity, along with real preheat and more consistent temps.
Just tried all tips and nothing worked. Are you cleaning this directly after the mess was made ? Will this work after weeks of not cleaning? Any other tips? nothing worked and ours looked identical.
Think it was a few weeks after-I recomeneded a Brillo pad to someone else and they said it ruined there Oven but I use it all the time and don't have a problem. But I haven't been able to clean the heating elements/bars-I wipe but don't scrub them.
Thanks very much for this. These machines are very cheap to manufacture and for the price they're typically sold at at retail, there's no reason the interior should not be self-cleaning or at the very least more durable and able to stand up to an oven cleaner like Easy Off without ruining the surface. The fan is equally flawed in design and cheaply constructed. For example, how is it possible not to have access to the actual fan blades!?!? Especially since they're an essential component of the air frying function! Inexcusable for a 250 toaster oven. Mine had an issue with the decals/lettering coming off the function buttons (a known issue on some of these ovens) and when I called customer service I was told that I would be sent new labeling but what I got was a rather pitiful sticker that runs between the buttons and which makes the oven look as cheap as it's manufactured. The Ninja brand represents an aggressive highly profit-driven and extremely profitable company and there's no denying how effective their marketing strategy is, but at a significant cost both in time and inconvenience (and therefore money) to their intended target market. This product could be a great, cost-saving and versatile alternative to a full-sized oven, but needs a thorough refresh in design to realize its full potential and increase brand loyalty over time.
I would think it would be almost impossible to remove 100% of any cleaning product in the air fry, especially around the heating elements Have you noticed any problems with left behind cleaning residue when cooking? Did it have any affect on the taste of the food?
I tried Easy Off but that doesn't seem to work at all, even after letting it sit for the suggested hour. I'm gonna try the Dawn and see if that helps. :)
@@pressurecrisp yea the tray under the air fryer basket. Only after one use for air fry pork chop. I m worry it will scratch. It’s feels like nonstick but it’s not
Manufacturers put all kinds of warnings because they don’t want someone saying the product they said would clean it made a tiny scuff…or someone used it on the stainless exterior or worse on the handle with the buttons, the interior is metal, appears to be aluminum and that’s why some had discoloration with the baking soda method…basically if you decide to use something not recommended, you can’t blame the manufacturer for less than desirable results … but they aren’t going to send anyone to clean it for you. So you own it, use what you are comfortable with using.
Lisa, I am really concerned about you. I am praying for you and your family and hoping upon hope that you are ok. We all hope to hear from you soon! 😔🙏 💙🙋🏻~Janis
Thanks for the video, it's very informative. I recently purchased one of these and noticed it no longer comes with a splatter guard, so I'm trying to think about if I should, buy a splatter guard and use something to hold over the fan or is there a way to properly maintain the fan without the splatter guard.
Can I use cooking bags to roast in the Ninja? It has been a life saver since I have been on oxygen I cannot use my gas range. But cleaning it has been a problem. I even tried cleaning while it was a little warm. Thanks for the tips. I will try today.
Does anyone have ideas on how to clean the bottom rails? I air fried something and didn’t realize it was dripping onto the rails and now I have thick grease I can’t get off. 😩
I hope you unplugged the oven before you started to clean it. I think I've decided not to buy one like yours since as you said the new model does not come with a grease screen in the back of your oven. Very detailed video btw.
Whatever you do don't use oven cleaner, damaged the finish in mine and the food cooked afterwards smelled and tasted like chemicals. I threw it away and bought another. 😭
My oven is a nasty mess and I’m kinda POed if you read the manual for cleaning or what you cant use for cleaning. I’m ready to use oven off to clean this thing out thoroughly. Because of the cleaning NOT to do instructions, I don’t use the oven much. I’m ready to ditch this oven! My fan is a nasty mess! How do you clean the fan?
Nice clean job. I'm working on how to keep the greasy mess from flying around. I made two racks of delicious chicken wings yesterday. I have to say it left a mess on the inside of the oven and glass. Now I'm trying to figure out what I can cover the grease expelling foods with to prevent the walls from getting greasy. Maybe I'll try covering next air fried food with my hole perforated aluminum pie pans..I have a ten inch and 9 inch. I hope it works otherwise I will just keep using my Ninja Grill.
Hi..me again. I have a question, It says not to put trays/included air fryer tray into the dishwasher. Way to much work to hand wash. Ninja said it will make them wear out quicker. Do you hand wash your grill and air fryer trays or go for the dishwasher. Another reason why I prefer the N Grill..it goes into the dishwasher.
don't use the dawn. I did and even though I've repeatedly rinsed and wiped down. can't get the smell out and it makes everything ltaste terribl. thinking of throwing it out
Sounds like you used too much wouldn't recommend spraying into vents where you can't wipe it of afterwards, spray on a cloth first and wipe over vent surface.
Worked great, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to clean. Horrible design from that perspective. The heating elements in the oven are impossible to get clean. I work hard to keep my kitchen clean, but this was a bun-buster. The food splatters that get stuck on the interior are almost impossible to get off. I couldn't get the interior AT ALL clean, so I used it until I couldn't stand it anymore then THREW IT AWAY and went back to using my regular over (which is EASY to clean!!!!)
@@ElBrodito Thanks. I just made the same mistake and it does not look pretty, agreed. Hoping my food will not smell and taste like oven cleaner now. Hoping I don’t need to buy a new one.
I left my granddaughter in my house for a week while I went on vacation. She forgot to put the bottom tray in the air fryer so all the grease and nastiness from that whole week she was using. It is in the oven it's thick it's Credi and you're not showing a dirty oven so you're cleaning method was of no help.
