I'm starting to think that Ninja Gaiden II is the best game that I've ever played, so it's about time I upload some videos of it! I have several goals and conditions in mind for this Master Ninja playthrough. Most of these rules aren't set in stone though, I'm just going by feeling for the most part.
1. Complete every encounter between each save point consecutively. This means no going back and saving after finishing a fight.
2. No recovery items (excluding Tests of Valor)
3. Don't rely on the safest tactics. It's not interesting to watch somebody chain UTs and Izuna Drops for eternity. I'll still be using those moves, but only sparingly (for the most part). I want to make use of each weapon's entire moveset.
4. I'll try to use every weapon in every chapter.
5. I'll only skip an encounter if it's tedious (or if I forget about). I'm not going to fight the red fish or kill all of the flying guys that shoot fireballs at you, for example. Nobody wants to see that.
I'll be completing every Test of Valor as well. I wasn't sure if I should bother since some (most?) of them aren't that interesting to watch or play, but I figured it's best to do a (mostly) complete playthrough. I'll include a 'skip' button as an annotation at the start of every ToV if you don't want to see it.

I started this playthrough a couple of months ago, but I got burnt out because it was much harder than I expected it to be. I'm too set on finishing every segment as cleanly as possible, so if I take a bad hit or more damage than I would like, I restart. This has been pretty grueling so far because as you're probably aware, the AI in this game is vicious and unpredictable -- enemies aren't very cooperative, to say the least. It wouldn't be too bad if I saved every time I did well on a hard fight, but I want to do it all consecutively. Maybe that wasn't the smartest decision, but I'm sticking with it.
Anyway, I hope these videos will help you learn some new things about this game, or at least provide some entertainment.

I'm playing the master collection on Switch. NG2 is definitely the best one. The combat is just so smooth and satisfying.

@@Fulcron13 Yes, it's bad in term of resolution. The graphic is grainy. But it's still a good game nonetheless. I still enjoyed it and recommend you to try.

I applaud you for doing a playthrough that uses a varied way of fighting enemies. I don't blame anyone for doing that in this game though. NG2 just has so much bullshit that chaining the safest, most i-frame-heavy moves is often the most efficient way forward. At least with NGS2, you can do combos without getting explosives stuck on you every 3-4 seconds.

My mentor run was a slog, but maybe a NG+ run wouldn’t be too bad. I’ve cursed up countless storms trying to make progress on Master Ninja, but Christ Almighty, this game...

Well now bruh, first I have to admit that I am very impressed with your NG2 & NG3RE movies/videos (for me it was the closest thing to having a real live action or even CG movie). I am a huge fan of RYU. Best game hands down. I have played all of em and I'm a decent player but not on your level. It appears that you have mastered all moves with all weapons, something I need to keep working on. But again, awesome gameplay. And finally, your NG3RE vids are crazy dope! You did that on the hardest level. A-ma-zing dude. Best I have ever seen. Nice work bro!...

a good NG2 video is like a piece of art...too bad they don't make those games anymore only DMC and Bayonetta are making new games now...Nioh and new God of War is more RPG than ACT...

Your poor old Xbox 360. I remember the game slowing down but not to this degree xD. Thanks a lot for the video, I'm not that great in Ninja Gaiden 2. Just completed Warrior difficulty and it seems I got a lot to learn seeing you play.

Played Sigma 2 a few months ago, and it's kind of shocking that the major differences between this game and Sigma 2 are painfully visible in the first chapter. It's like they're two completely different games, one great but flawed and the other good but went too far when making changes (at least in my opinion). Anyways, nice to see a playthrough that doesn't spam Ultimate Techniques every few seconds. Looking forward to watching the later chapters.

That was awesome! I just started watching your gameplay here. HackNSlash told me you have some epic Kusari-Gama gameplay here. That is a weapon I specialized in as a kid (age 12, karate, kusari-gama kata). Which one has the most epic gameplay with it? It's a nostalgia thing. I never mastered the weapon. I just got decent with one and okay as a show-off pair.

That's awesome! The kusari-gama is a really cool weapon, being able to use one at all is impressive. To answer your question though, I honestly have no idea which video would have the best gameplay for it. I made sure to use every weapon in every chapter, so there are probably some good stretches scattered around. Not too helpful, I know (´-ω-｀)

Wow NGII on X1 works that well? I was afraid it wasnt smooth or estable on X1 because Xbox Series has this fps boost thing but not the previous consoles.

@@mangelangel2570 It runs smooth 60fps on X One X and Series. On X1 Is definitively Better than 360 but not quite 60 for most of the time (often It drops to 45/50 FPS)

I know your opinion of Sigma 2, but what do you think of the first Sigma? Does it have any real disadvantages over the Xbox versions of 1 and Black?

I wouldn't recommend it over Black, but Sigma 1 is good enough if you don't have an Xbox or 360 to play the original.
